Disappointing, and the first game in the recent unfortunate run where I would say we got what we deserved. Wouldn't argue with too many of the observations made by people who were at the game today, but it does grate when individuals seem to get some kind of perverse pleasure from seeing the team do poorly so they can get on their high horse. As for the assertions that the "Togetherness" is lost....not for me. I don't give up that easy on my team and I don't believe our team has given up on us. Thankfully the mindset that the team only deserve our support and backing when things are going well only seems to exist among a minority of fans.

I'm going to get some "Don't Mention The Merger" t-shirts printed up.

Do you think it's our proximity to the bridge that brings out all the Trolls?

Think I just spotted a troll...!!!

There's another thread about this on here somewhere.... If you do your homework properly, you'll find out that English Notes are not actually "legal tender" either.

Gordie pointed out a prior discussion where we talked about the effect (or not) that quality of football has on attendances....and I think price also falls into that category. I'm not saying that lower prices would not attract more people, but there's not enough (if any) room in the budgets for clubs to be reducing prices to a level where it would have an appreciable effect on attendances. Although, IMO, there's a lot could be done to still make football more affordable to families. What the club need to do is remove the mental block between price and attendance....and I do think some of it is down to the thought of handing over a £20 note (or more) at the turnstile. Asking people for a lump sum also creates that mental "how much!!" situation. How would people feel about an interest free Direct Debit system? Not finance...but the club operating the scheme directly and allowing people to pay for their seasons football over 10 or 12 months? I only ask, because this seems to have been very successful at other clubs....I think it's Norwich City where over 60% of fans pay this way, and who have doubled home support in the last 10 years or so (they actually have a waiting list for season tickets there these days). What is even more important though is fan engagement....but people need to realise that is a two way process, so if they want the club to engage with the fans, then the fans have to be willing to engage with the club. Only then can both sides begin to understand each others issues and come together to find solutions to them.

Aye, we'd all happily sit at our work and listen to people hurling abuse at us without reacting because it would be "unprofessional" to do so!!! Right or wrong, we all have our breaking point when it comes to suffering the opinions of fools. You'd have to be a total moron to think that it's acceptable to live your life that way, and that it won't have repercussions. This was not Terry reacting to a single comment, this was him reacting to one of a few people who are in his ear week in, week out and who never have anything positive to contribute. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if/when you give it then you are also entitled to the response.

Amazing how some fans think it's perfectly acceptable for fans to sit and shout abuse at anyone (be they on the pitch or at pitch side) for 90 minutes without recrimination...yet the moment one of those people reacts they are some kind of disgrace.

Our "Prime Target" is/was always 11th with anything else being a bonus. Anything other than that is a goal. Seems that some of our fans are letting our success so far this season go to their heads and expectations are getting a little out of control.

Yeah, can imagine restrictions on enamel badges...it was the button ones I was on about. I was just wondering if the button badges were a case of printing the image onto the necessary material and if that material posed any issues when it came to fine detail and things.

That's quite laughable, and a true sign that you are either havering or need a new "source". You'd be hard pushed to find a more likeable, pleasant young man...and given how many of them we have at the club right now, that's same something. Here's a challenge for you. Instead of using your expertise to rip the team, players, management and club apart....why not try using them to explain why we have done so well, to date, this season!!!
-
BornCaley, is their any restriction in terms of image quality etc or can pretty much anything that can be printed go onto a badge?

Never said your post was ignorant (or never intended too). It merely referenced not liking someone and I was just pointing out (to others) that disliking someone wasn't an "ism" in itself.
-
I know that was said in jest, but it highlights the ignorance that exists in regards to the whole "ism" thing (not necessarily on your part, just using this as an example). It is possible to dislike something without being intolerant of it. I don't have a particular liking for any religion, but that doesn't mean I don't respect or tolerate the beliefs and or actions of those who do. The last I checked, it wasn't illegal to walk down the street with a placard that says "I hate religion".....and until you cross the line into something like "I hate religion and all religious people should be shot"....i.e. intolerance....then you have nothing to fear from the law. Songs/Chants such as those being discussed above may be in bad taste, and I would agree with that, but that doesn't make them a crime. It's pretty much the same as some of the shouts that were coming from the other end. Butcher was getting called for all sorts and the Gazza stuff was pretty rough....again, bad taste and not welcome (IMO), but not criminal. Best thing to do with these things is to totally ignore them and not give them any "air time", because the majority of people partaking in it are only doing so to either big themselves up to their peers and/or to get a bit of attention. Take that away and they have no reason to do it and will soon get bored.

At least Boo Boys at the stadium are (mostly) just silly laddies who don't any better. Sadly the same can't be said for some of those on here!!!

I got my pronunciation from the man himself!!!

Was the main culprit in the North Stand wearing a hat which made him stand out a bit in the crowd?

Not sure why the thread is in the Rumour Mill as it's true.....but the thread is here - http://caleythistleonline.com/topic/26368-ben-greenhalgh/

Need to be careful with taking player poses from photographs without permission (although I am sure CaleyJags.com would assist)....you're stepping into the realms of derivative works and it's more grief than it's worth. We've always tried to keep a good relationship with photographers etc as they've been good to us on CTO over the years by providing stuff for our use on the site. Maybe speak to the lad who does the Caricatures though...!!! Would be especially interested in a price for the Caley Jags Together logo....

Drop me an e.mail to [email protected] - some examples and prices would be good. Ta.

I'm reliably informed that Ryan Reguero will be playing in goal for us this weekend.
-
Can only assume it was a tad wet given the snow/rain we've had. Putting covers on this early in the week for Saturday wouldn't have done the grass any favours either...so sacrifice this game for the good of the pitch and getting game on at the weekend...no brainer.

Our next game is Celtic at home....midday kick-off.

Please be advised that the scheduled U20 match against St Johnstone tomorrow at 1pm has been cancelled.
