  1. Davie tries hard not to use the word "absolutely", but Ross didn't let us down!!!
  2. Yes it does. It's just that you don't understand the explanation!
  3. What a bizarre comment....your basically saying that he deserved to be fouled, and that is somehow ok that no penalty was awarded because he took a touch instead of just hitting it first time!!! What ever happened to the concept of supporters looking for reasons to support a team and it's players? It seems to have become the norm these days to look for reasons not too!!! What a bizarre couple of comments. Of course I'm not saying he deserved to be fouled and I very clearly stated that the referee made the wrong decision. What I am saying is that had the right decision been made, Doran would be able to count himself lucky as he was fouled after having made a hash of a golden opportunity. As for supporting a team and its players I think that can best be served by providing encouragement on the park and being objective both in crticism and praise off it on this forum. In speaking to any Dons fans I may, of course, refer to what a diving cheating squirt Fraser is, but the reality is he was on the receiving end of some tackles which should not have been made. That kind of indiscipline is not going to help the campaign this season and it serves no purpose in trying to justify it on this forum. Nor does it serve any purpose bleating on about a bad penalty decison when the ball should have been in the back of the net before the defender got anywhere near the ball (or the player). No matter how good at their job people are, they do it better if areas for improvement are identified and worked on. By all means lets have some tongue in cheek banter, but when discussing serious topics let's try to be reasonably objective. It is completely wrong to equate being critical with not providing support - the reality is that objective criticism is often more supportive than saying "well done" when it was anything but. And why should we be "looking for reasons to support" our team. No need to look. We should simply be supporting the team - full stop - and saying things as we see them. What is the point of trying to deceive ourselves and others that things are different - we learn nothing from that. I sincerely hope the manager doesn't resort to looking for reasons to support his players rather than telling them how it is. The changing room discussion on Saturday might have gone something like this. "Christ we were hellish unlucky with the equaliser lads! Never mind, it was just one of those things - don't worry about it. You all did your best. There was no reason to think the referee would actually give the foul when Graeme pulled the lad's shirt. And what a cheating rabble they are to take a free kick before checking that you had all ambled back in to your defensive positions. And as for Jonny actually being able to cross a ball! well, who would have thought that? And what a great effort it was from the five of you marking that new lad, Smith. Or was it 6 of you? My but he's a big lad. Must be all of 8 foot 6! There was nothing anybody could have done to intercept that imperious leap of his. In any case, he looked a couple of yards offside to me. Come on Richie - get that Rioja open!" I have a suspicion that Terry's post match analysis might have gone somewhat differently. I will continue to support ICT by giving praise where praise is due and objective (and hopefully constructive) criticsm where it is not. Doesn't explain why we didn't deserve the right decision!!!

  5. O would some power the giftie gie us......
  6. With fans like (some) of ours, what chance have our guys got? Players that have left/been let go from ICT with a far greater tendency for big, lumbering, unnecessary challenges are lauded over like heroes, whilst the guys here and now are getting pelters and told they shouldn't be pulling on the shirt ever again because of a dubious red card. Inverness has the team it deserves....in fact, it has a better team than it deserves. If people spent as much time supporting the team as the did criticising it then we'd have the best support in the world!!!
  7. Site has twice as many visitors this year than it did in 2009, but what's interesting is that the actual pageviews has gone up by a multiple of 15 to 20 as people are spending more time (almost 5 times longer on average) on the site and reading more stuff.
  8. Dorans ankle was more than clipped, foot came over the top of his leg and impeded the shot and it also looks like he was leant on at the same time...not to mention the fact that it ended with the player going straight through him....a foul in itself, regardless of whether it stopped him getting a proper shot off or not. A more solid penalty than the one awarded to Sutherland, IMO. The SPL YouTube channel have "Penalty Claims" video (looks like rules on showing controversial issues has been relaxed) which will go live tomorrow evening and the incident is included in that....unfortunately it doesn't include video from the main stand side which we took ourselves and gives a much clearer angle, but I'll check the position on us being allowed to put that up on our own channel.
  9. Doran was fouled as he went to shoot....only had a quick look back at the footage on the small camera screen, but looks fairly conclusive.
  10. I think we curd have gone whey over the top with the milk references.
  11. Just finishing up the video now and he does make mention of the "Aaron Doran as sweeper" thing.
  12. IHE...that explains everything. I wondered why Butcher kept referring to you in this weeks interview.....unfortunately I had to edit all mentions of you from the video for legal reasons!!!
  13. I'll still be here, just not as a site admin....you don't get rid of me that easy!!!!
  14. I'll be the big guy with the video camera at the back of the main stand....or just ask anyone local and they should be able to point me out. Message system isn't active for new users on the forum, but you can drop me an e.mail to donald at caleythistleonline dot com
  15. I'll give you a lift over to the Bus Station after the game.
  16. It's an udder shambles.
  17. Our next home U20's match is Tuesday 18th versus Dundee....just awaiting confirmation of the kick-off time (usually 2:00pm).
  18. Exactly what I said after the game. Was never a fan of his because I always considered him a whiner who'd have all his excuses lined up...and himself beat...before he ever stepped on to the court for the bigger games. None of that from him in the last 3 or 4 bigger events this year and look at the difference it's made. Not only is he playing better, it's more enjoyable to watch.
  19. Who needs a Nandos when we've got the Innes. I highly recommend the mince and tatties.
  20. 222880 is the reception (who can put you through). Direct line for ticket office/shop is 227451.
  21. Most of them not so glorified!!!
  22. Glory Hunter
  23. ICT are doing better than most and whilst I am worried, that has as much to do with the financial state of the game as opposed to the financial state of ICT (or any other individual club). Enjoy the honeymoon period at C*unty...we had one of them too, but it doesn't last and when the reality of just how much it costs to subsidise an SPL hit home with your sugar daddy then reality will hit home. Yeah, you can sit and gloat, as we have done in the past....but it might be wiser to take a lesson from our past and ensure that whilst you are living it up on the good (financial) times that things are put in place to prevent you landing on your face when that starts to disappear. Just for the record....Tullochs finances are not, and have not been for a long time, tied to the finances of ICT in any way, shape or form. If C*unty fans are only picking up on that now, then you're living further in the past than I thought.
  24. Oddquine, the "dealing" in younger players is quite different to that of older players insofar as if another club wanted to sign them then we would be guaranteed money when they moved based on how long they had been at the club. This money is paid regardless of whether the player is out of contract or not when he moves (unless the club have not offered them a new contract, and that would not be the case with anyone worth keeping) and is viewed as compensation for the development work done by clubs with the younger players. In reality, only a small proportion of players at U19/20 level are ever good enough to make it to the first team. This is pretty much the case at any club, although every now and again a club can go through a bit of a purple patch and produce a good crop of youngsters which benefit the first team and the finances from selling them on.....Hibs immediately springs to mind from a few years back, but that hasn't lasted and they are now doing no better than most. We've done reasonably well from bringing through youngsters over the years, although the setup did suffer a bit of a setback when we were relegated and finances dictated cut backs in that area. We are now seeing some positive signs that we have quickly overcome that with young players already featuring within the first team squad and good few on the fringes. So, to echo what Kingsmills has said....it bodes well for the future.
  25. Think you might be right....vague recollection of us finishing bottom of the league on 13 points last season.
