It's not very scientific and I certainly wouldn't try and read anything in to it, but based on games so far this season the difference in average from last season to this season for each club is as follows.... Celtic -5840 Hearts -1174 Hibernian 630 Aberdeen 1129 Dundee Utd 1092 Motherwell -52 Kilmarnock -315 Dundee 757 St Mirren -204 St Johnstone 1354 Inverness CT 145

He was saying in one of the papers that he's enjoying the intensity and physical challenge of the training and games up here and is working hard on upping his fitness levels.

He's here till January I believe....would be nice if that was extended though.

Let's wait and see before we start judging the fella.

Would that be the South Stand they were claiming they had sold out weeks ago by any chance?

A couple of questions to ponder 1 Do you think Edinburgh would fully embrace a merged Hibs/Hearts side? 2 Do you think Dundee would fully embrace a merged Dundee/Utd side? I deliberately never included the old firm because that would be too ridiculous to even consider No matter where you go in the world the answer is the same The city of Inverness may well fully support ICT at some point in the future but it won't be in our generation sadly Dougal Don't know why I'm wasting my time, but here goes.... First off, my point had nothing to do with "fans"...which is where any merger argument might lie if you so happened to believe it was still an issue (I don't). Even if you were to factor it in, the business owning post merger refuseniks would number in single digits and very likely on the fingers of one hand....Inverness (and surrounding area) has in the region of 15,000 registered businesses based on the last figures I saw. Granted, many of them will not depend on ICT in any way shape or form...but a large proportion of them are guest houses, hotels, restaurants, pubs, taxi/transport, retailers etc who will/do benefit from the increased number of people coming to the city because we have an SPL team. I'm not expecting these companies to be giving us charity, but neither should they be running around moaning about loss of trade when ICT fails to reach it's potential when they are doing nothing to assist with that. Yes, there's companies who do support the club...some of them very generously. Therein lies the problem, IMO. So much is given by so few that it can't be sustained. It would be far better in the long term (for everyone) if more people did a little bit, spreading the load, reducing the burden and lessening the risk of "burnout" when the few are no longer willing to sustain support at the levels they do.
-
Unfortunately it's just another example of how this City fails to support ICT. I still remember when the landlords and restaurant owners etc were crying to the papers the year we got relegated about how it would reduce their income...yet they do nowt to help the club..and in turn themselves.

Others will be better placed to give you details on the Social Club bus as it's been a while since I was able to be in there pre-match. Glad to hear that the service is improving in the Sports Bar, it was one of the things CJT talked to the club about over the closed season. Hopefully more improvements to come over the rest of the season...and beyond.

ICT Social Club....or Stadium Bar.

The only people who should be embarrassed are the "fans" who have chosen to turn their back on the team.

The issue is not about whether Terry was right or wrong, it's about the fact that he chose to be critical of the refs performance....in short, he gave his opinion. Right, wrong or indifferent, everyone is entitled to an opinion and so long as the SFA/SPL etc insist on having the press stick mics/cameras in the faces of managers and players immediately after a game then they have to accept that these people will not have had the chance to look at video evidence etc and can only base their opinion on what they believe they witnessed at the time....will deliver that opinion in the heat of the moment and not always in measured fashion. Refs need to accept that criticism comes with the territory....and they are well paid for the jobs they do. Perhaps if they spent more time ironing out their own faults instead of running around moaning when people choose to criticise them then it they wouldn't get criticised so much and everyone would be a winner.

URGENT - REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE The organisers of the Loch Ness Marathon have been in touch with us looking for help to run the water station at Holm Mains tomorrow between 10am and 4pm (they have been let down by another group). You don't need to be there all day, even a couple of hours of your time would help. We appreciate this is short notice, but if anyone is able to assist then please get in touch asap, either by dropping us an e.mail to [email protected], sending me a PM on here or using the message button on our Facebook page. The only requirement is that you turn up suitably dressed for the weather (warm & waterproof). We will have people there who will give you instructions on what needs to be done. Thanks

The BBC aren't very welcome at Ibrox (unless paying them to broadcast a match obviously)....so might not have been given the option, even if they wanted to.

The investigation being undertaken by Nimmo and his cronies on behalf of the SPL has nothing whatsoever to do with Tax Dodging. It's looking at dual contracts and whether or not Rangers were in breach of SFA/SPL rules by not declaring that some players were receiving larger salaries than had been registered. The legality of the EBT's has no baring on the investigation and is being pursued separately by HMRC.

Hopefully we'll get the chance for a few choruses of "Winning in the Rain".....

Mind made up then...I'm definitely taking the camera so I can blag an undercover spot somewhere!!!

What's the chances of us being under cover for the game?
-
We all know that's not going to happen. The SPL beaks tried everything in their power to keep them in the league...not a chance they'll do anything to prevent them getting back at the first possible opportunity. What's more, if the game in this country hasn't undergone massive restructuring by the that time then we'll be begging teams to join the top league in order to fill the spaces left by those who have gone to the wall...or who will themselves be getting dismissed for going into administration etc. The only basis on which they could justify doing what they are doing is one of integrity...and after the carry on in the summer, nobody has any integrity left to protect, so it's a pointless pursuit. Don't forget...every pound the SPL spend paying these guys is a pound less that will be distributed to the member clubs. It's ultimately the clubs and the fans who are paying for this and setting everything else aside...we simply can't afford to be throwing good money after bad.

The mentality in Scotland seems to be one that would rather see clubs cease to exist, than exist as the part of a merger. The problem with our merger, IMO, was that it was one driven by desire more than necessity....although some (Mr Bannerman) will no doubt argue (with hindsight) that it was necessary. The environment is very different these days and I think some mergers have to be looked at as necessity/means of survival. For that reason the arguments that would be put forward in support of/against a merger would be very different to the ones we experienced 20 years ago....making it very hard to draw a meaningful comparison.
