We will be doing another live trial of commentary on ictfc.com/live (page will be available nearer kick-off). Shouldn't require the use of any VPN as there's no geographical restrictions on the feed. Again....please remember this is TESTing and that may be reflected in quality of the feed as we tweak things.

Thanks guys....we were (deliberately) operating over 4G tonight in an area where we know it's not the best and at 128kbps (when 32 is normally sufficient for voice only) to get a kinda "worst case" scenario for the audio transmission. So, whilst not top notch, it should have provided all the info we need to improve things going forward.

Testing live audio/commentary at http://ictfc.com/live It's "listener beware" as Davie, Jack and maybe a bit from me will be conducting the test....provided we can hold the connection.

Not had a proper look at the published accounts (for County or Parent Company), but something doesn't seem right. All their talk of selling out hospitality for the full season, increased season ticket sales and attendance figures....yet turnover is down by about 13%!!!

Yogi's chat ahead of the game on Wednesday....few hints as to possible team selection in there? https://audioboom.com/boos/3058942-ictfc-john-hughes-preview-v-aberdeen-on-08-04-15

No It has all gone a bit quiet at the club for contracts with Ross, Watkins and Ravens-should we all be assuming as nothing has been forthcoming for a few wks they will be staying :) No

We have an initial allocation which is more than enough to give everyone 2 seats, so I wouldn't worry about availability.

The dates for each game HAVE NOT been confirmed yet and I would take the date on the BBC website with a pinch of salt. Like our fixtures system, you have to put in a date/time in order to list a match and they have listed that semi as the "default" Saturday at 3pm settings. Please do not go booking travel/accommodation based on one or the other.

I suspect the match will end up being played post-split.

Did anyone see it mentioned in their newspapers today (Sunday)? I'm just curious as the story was embargoed until today so that Sunday papers had the exclusive, but I didn't see it in my newspaper.

Don't even need to Google it...in the image used, he has the club badge on his top and the award says "Inverness CT" on it.

Just a wee bit of "procedural" info.... Compliance Officer makes any citations on behalf of the SFA. Club decide to accept or reject. Independent Panel is put in place to hear the case...panel does not include the Compliance Officer as he is the one who presents the evidence for the citation on behalf of the SFA. Panel makes the decision and it's then passed back to the SFA to action accordingly. Who makes up the panel seems to be a bit of mystery and there's a confidentiality rule that prevents anyone from naming them...!! For all we know they picked 3 randoms off the street and they just so happened to all be United fans. If you really want to torture yourself, here's the link to the Judicial Panel Protocols - http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/SFAPublications/ScottishFAPublications2014-15/Judicial%20Panel%20Protocol%202014-15.pdf?page=2566

The game's not being broadcast anywhere, so you won't get any online feeds (legit or otherwise).

Player Profile Pages (especially bio's) are in need of an overhaul and it's on the to do list.

From FIFA "Laws of the Game" - Law 12 - http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/footballdevelopment/refereeing/02/36/01/11/27_06_2014_new--lawsofthegameweben_neutral.pdf Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration: • the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand) • the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball) • the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement • touching the ball with an object held in the hand (clothing, shinguard, etc.) counts as an infringement • hitting the ball with a thrown object (boot, shinguard, etc.) counts as an infringement Disciplinary sanctions There are circumstances when a caution for unsporting behaviour is required when a player deliberately handles the ball, e.g. when a player: • deliberately handles the ball to prevent an opponent gaining possession • attempts to score a goal by deliberately handling the ball A player is sent off, however, if he prevents a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball. This punishment arises not from the act of the player deliberately handling the ball but from the unacceptable and unfair intervention that prevented a goal being scored. Restart of play • Direct free kick from the position where the offence occurred (see Law 13 – Position of free kick) or penalty kick

Keep the high winds coming (from a football perspective) until just before kick-off. It will help dry out the ground and push any rain through the area faster.

Refund info for those who purchased tickets and can't make the rearranged match is now on the club website at http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1482-scottish-cup-quarter-final-info

Our current schedule could easily be tweaked without going full blown "summer league". No matter which way you go you need to have midweek fixtures, what we need to do is have those fixtures earlier/later in the season and not during the toughest/gloomiest winter months. Start the season with 3 or 4 weeks of midweek fixtures when the nights are a bit brighter and enthusiasm for the new season will help bring a few more along to these games....pitches are also at their best and able to cope with "extra" games. You can also condense the post split fixtures into 2 weeks by doing Sat/Tue/Sat/Tue/Sat. This gets rid of nonsense scenarios like we had this season with 7 games scheduled for January. Keep the New Year fixtures, but perhaps look at no scheduled games either side as a kinda winter break/buffer zone. It's not just weather and pitch conditions that cause issue over the festive period...that's also the time of year when people's finances are most stretched and it's not necessary for us to be cutting our own throat by trying to compete with xmas for people's cash.
-
As was pointed out to me a few weeks back...summer football is great in theory, but creates just as many issues in practice. The biggest one being pitch recovery. At the moment this takes place during the summer when you get most growth, but if you are playing on it during that time then "recovery" period then becomes winter when you get little/no growth...i.e. it doesn't get chance to recover. Summer football is good for other reasons, but it would also have to be done in conjunction with the use of 4G pitches.

Amazing that football clubs are expected to achieve what mankind hasn't managed to do for thousands of years....predict and successfully beat the weather!! Covers were down and all possible precautions were taken...but we're talking about 10's of thousands of gallons of water falling in a fairly short time on to ground that was already heavily soaked from ongoing wet weather....and a forecast that said it was going to continue. (a forecast that, until yesterday afternoon, had indicated the risk was lowish and chances are it would have missed the city) Clubs, including ICTFC, have been pilloried in the past for not making early decisions in situations were extensive fan travel is involved...and some of our fans have been most vocal about it when we're the ones travelling! (although technically speaking it's the SFA rep doing the inspection that makes the decision). We have one of the most experienced groundsmen in the country who has performed miracles on occasion over the years to get matches on, so let's cut him a bit of slack when he can't pull off the impossible!

Give you a clue....an away game and you can just make out the eye of the goal scorer to the right of Christie's head. Scored more goals than they've had bookings this season...which many may be surprised to hear.

I bought them along with the stadium naming rights for £1 last year. You're all gonna love the Big Don Dome once I win the lottery and can afford to build it.
