  1. Bradshaw was a great player in the Highland League and probably could have done it in the SFL but was a complete nutcase. The rumour I heard was that he was asked to leave Caley after he battered a schoolboy who got into an argument with Bradshaw's wee brother. When Pele tells you you aren't professional enough, you probably want to re-examine yourself a bit (no offence Pele, legend etc). He did pretty well in the games I saw him in (friendly v Celtic, league game at Partick), a centre-half who could pass the ball well. I always thought he was a bit of a player but always seemed to be in the stands rather than in the squad. Tony Low is another. Tony Low has played for a few Highland League teams as well as in Australia and, in fact, played against iCT in yesterday's North Cup final. Guy Kerr played for Scotland Under 17s and is now at East Fife.
  2. What we should really do is sign up some Fijian rugby league centres and teach them to play football.
  3. Renegade, you are a legend mate. Great comedy, poster of the year material.

Nightmare for Duff. Hope he recovers fully.
  5. England have a chance in South Efffriiicccaa. They have a good squad of players and a very good manager. However, despite fantastic results aginst Croatia and the rest of their group, it's worth remembering that Spain beat them comfortably in a friendly not long ago. If England are to go beyond being a quarter-final team they will need to start beating the likes of France and Spain.
  6. Remember the Alloa kid from the 1999 game? What a wee d!ck.
  7. A few more Alba games and we can make that long awaited bid for Kaka. :D Good draw, hopefully we don't make teh same mistakes as a few weeks back.
  8. Juanjo scored in his second game and managed to brutally assault innocent victim Neil Lennon in his third - not a bad start.
  9. Disappointed that either McBain or Duncan haven't been drafted into midfield. Fair enough that Lionel has been dropped but how badly does Eagle have to play to even drop onto the bench? I'd also have liked to see either Rooney or Barrowman get a shot up front with Foran.
  10. I didn't see much of Hastings last season but according to my sources he was dire. Haven't seen Golly play in years.

Rooney is probably the best young English player for decades. Nick Ross isn't, I think it's fair to say. If we had a 16 year old striker as good as Wayne Rooney was at that age, I'd bet that he'd be in the side. Best line up yet.

-------------------Esson------------------ ---Tokely---Bulviitis---Granty---Shinnie-- ---Hayes----Duncan-----Cox----McBain-- ----------Barrowman----Foran------------ I think the way we are playing with Foran and Sanchez has the potential to make us less penetrating - Foran gets isolated and Sanchez gets bogged down in the midfield. If Barrowman is anything he is a goalscorer, a poacher, and if we play him up front with a worker like Foran he could get those chances.
  13. Just abysmal on Saturday, absolutely terrible. It's the worst performance in a derby since the 5-1 game - at least in the 5-1 game we were playing a crocked centre-half. County completely dominated the middle of the park - Cox has shown he can play but in that game he was anonymous. Stratford was awful. Get Russell back in the engine room with Cox. Hayes was alright but Eagle - what's his story? He can't dribble, he can't cross, he has no pace, he doesn't get shots in, he isn't that hard working. Why is he there? Hurry back Imrie. Defensively, Granty did well but Bulvitis looked a bombscare - why did he never seem to wholeheartedly go through the ball, clear it, win the header or tackle? The ball was bobbling around on his toes, pish. Zadi was just awful, he looks so uncertain on the ball, so scared of doing anything. Up front, Foran didn't do anything with what he was given but Sanchez didn't look nearly as lively as he did at Dens - he wasn't rolling off his man, playign any little balls. There was no link up with the wide men. I think we need to stick Barrowman back in, or even (God forbid) Rooney. I was spekaing to CaleyStan after the game and he made the point that the atmosphere was strnage, like we just expected to win. We used to go into these games with a degree of arrogance but it was a healthy arrogance - 'we're good enough to win thsi game, lets go and do it'. I think on Saturday some of the players let the relatively good start to the season go to their heads and expected a good performance to just happen. Looking forward we need to be more forceful, to get some zip back into the side. I'd immediately bring Rosscoe back in, drop Zadi for Shinnie or Hastings, put Russell in the middle of the park and Roy on the left of midfield. A win aginst Partick would be great, even if it is in the diddy cup.
  14. Poor excuse. You could play a game of football with a cracked rib. I will be there with a few other top boys.

I used to sell half time raffles and I never got a commission!
  16. Did Wayne Addicoat not play against County in the 3rd Division when he was 16? Also, Niall Calder wason the bench against Partick Thistle when he was 15.
  17. When I went to Dingwall... etc etc
  18. You wouldn't actually chant "Insert score here" Indeed. The idea being if we win 3-0 you cahnt Three nil in your cup final Three nil in your cup final etc He's done a Joey Barton!
  19. Gutted I missed that!
  20. He's doing down He's going down He's going Vigurs going down Brewster get to **** Brewster, Brewster get to **** County fans go on about us being arrogant etc so we need loads of arrogant chants if we are winning. If we win by more than three goals to nil (big if): [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final We are unbeatable We are unbeatable We are unbeatable etc etc If we are losing none of this 'you only sing when you're winning' pish, it's cringeworthy.

  22. I'd expect us to stick with the same XI that played yesterday: --------------------Esson------------------- --Proctor---Bulvitis---Munro---Djebi-Zadi--- --Hayes-----Cox-----Stratford-----Eagle---- --------------Sanchez-----Foran------------- Sanchez and Foran did well up front yesterday - Sanchez took his goal well and showed some good touches and Foran was dangerous and made a goal for Cox out of very little. If Foran is at his best, he will be a real danger for County. I can see County being up for this game more than us - I'd imagine that the importance of it will be ground into their players more thanit will the guys we have, most of whom aren't Scottish or from the area. Hopefully Granty and Rosscoe will get everyone up to speed. Our most important player will probably be Lee Cox, who looks to be developing into a fantastic player, for a 19 year old to be so influential in the middle of park is rare. He also gets forward well, he scored yesterdayand had another great chance in the second half. Our defence has also been pretty solid - it was only Gary Harkins who scored against us on Sunday and I don't think County have anyone that good. Hoepfully County take a good support through - do their fans think they could fill the away end, 2200? I'd hope that we manage to pretty much fill out our end for this one.
  23. Absolutely fantastic game, really enjoyed it. I thought we were the better side in the first half but Harkins looks a class act and took his chances very well indeed. Proctor had a bit of a time with him. I thought that we looked very sharp in midfield and up front - reports of us being shot shy in earlier games look wide o fthe mark on that evidence. Foran had a good game, his work to set up Cox for the second was brilliant and Sanchez was good rolling off his man and playing neat little balls all game. Cox and Stratford in midfield were impressive - I think we've really pulled one out of the bag in signing Cox, he looks very good in this league and he's only 19. Dundee looked pretty shaky at the back and it's surprising that they haven't signed anyone to shore up these areas, considering they seem to have a lot of money to spend. In terms of their players Harkins looked dangerous as did Griffiths when he came on.
  24. Earlier than that, get through for a couple of early snifters in the Commercial.
  25. That was a great team, particularly the ten matches in a row we won just before Pele left. Robson and Wyness that season were absolute class. I often think it's sad that we used to get crowds of around 2000 at that point, yet pulled in double that for some of our routine SPL games - people really missed out. I have a VHS with highlights from the 2002/03 season, I must get round to putting it on Youtube. My favourite team was the promotion winning team 96/97 - some great players and memories. Ian Stewart, Scott McLean, Charlie Christie, Barry Wilson, Mike Teasdale, Ian McArthur, Jim Calder. Around that time there was a great feeling around the club and we really tore that division apart.
