Brilliant result, delighted for Marius. Sounds as though we played some good stuff and appear to have the old solidity and spirit back, that's the important thing. We've got tough games coming up but I think we can take points from both. I haven't seen Markus much but from what I recall he is quite rangy and good in the air? I could have imagined this so feel free to correct me. I think that it's a good thing to have an attacking optino like that, Brewster might appreciate it. Brewster also praised Ian Vigurs in his midweek update on the official site saying: Quite a tribute for a player who came on as a sub in the last minute, suggests we could be seeing a wee bit more of young Vigurs. I remember reading about this lad when he was at Hellgin, he was a first team player there and had trials at Leeds (before they were completely in the sh1t). I think he could be a real prospect. I think we should bring in a couople of central defenders in the window, although perhaps if Watt recovers and proves himself worthy of a game we can step up.

If the team play pish they deserve to be booed. I don't understand why anyone would boo or abuse a player while they are warming up or coming on as a sub though, that really has gobsmacked me. Once when Hissy played ofr us he chased a ball down to the sidelines and the opposition got a throw. I thought it was a pish decision and shouted 'FUCKS SAKE' or something similar at the linesman, but Hissy thought I'd sjhouted it at him and turned round looking dead hurt :015: I felt very guilty :007:

I agree entirely. I'd rather he got booked for crunching tackles than mouthing off though.

Before yesterdays game Brewster had won six, lost six and drawn one of his games in charge since he returned. Of the six losses, two came against Aberdeen, two against the Old Firm and one away to Hibs. All these sides have far bigger budgets and, if we're being honest, better squads. In an ideal world we can take points from these games but the idea we should sack our manager for losing these matches is not a credible one. The Motherwell result and performance was obviously very, very poor. The six games he lead us to victory in were against: Gretna (twice), Hearts, Falkirk, St Mirren and Arbroath. We also drew with Killie meaning that of the teams around us in the league Brewster has an undefeated record. If we accept we are in a struggle to stay up then these are the games we have to take points from and he is doing that. The main problem faced by Brewster when he came back was that our solid defence - the base of much of our success in the SPL since 2004 - had lost a central cog in Darren Dods. He has not been replaced. Brewster had a very short window within which to work but brought in Phil McGuire, who was again praised today. McGuire has played practically every minute of every game we have won. When he was injured our form suffered, just compare how many goals we concede without him to how many we let in when he's playing. Hopefully Brewster can keep Phil at the club after December. He also brought in Proctor who I think will be a valuable squad player, especially considering Rosscoe's poor form. I don't agre with releasing Rankin and I hope he stays. I really hope that Ian Black stays, he is a vital part of our teams future. Perhaps though a short sharp shock is what he needs. Last season he displayed severe petulence on several occasions. Lets hope that he and Brewster have buried the hatchet and that he can get on with his game. I'm also interested into how Brewster can use Markus Paatelinan, he seems like he could be a Brewster player. Perhaps I'm just in a happy place due to todays result (a fantastic result against a side who had the best home record outside Celtic in the SPL until today) but I'm confident things can improve.

Great result. Dundee Utd's home record thsi season is absolutely tremendous - 6 wins and a draw out of seven games, including wins over Rangers. They had only conceded one goal in those games. They did have a few players out but we were also missing our leading scorer. Brilliant day, well done to the team and to Craig Brewster.

Very pleased to see Blackie back in the side. Rankin is an interesting one! I assume that Denzil's hamstring has kept him out? Important game for Marius. Wilkie up top for Yinted?

Agree with Govan Jaggie and Riley's posts 100%, he's been a great servant.

Bamba is rubbish. Scott Wilson is better, I think he's a decent player caught in the rot at East End Park, a change might do him good. Colin Nish will want more than we can give him. Lee Bullen would be a good signing I think. He is experienced and will be a good influence on the side. he is also a leader something our back four badly need. Charlie Mulgrew on loan from Wolves might be a good possibility, his career hasnt' realy got going at Molineux and he worked with Brewster at Tannadice.

I'm pretty sure it was Robbo. No it wasn't. Black's first start was against Kilmarnock in April 9th 2005. He got booked.

Brewster actually signed a few alright players for United. Kalvanes looks a good find, Noel Hunt is doing well for them as is Craig Conway (when he's fit). He also signed Lee Wilkie. I agree with the above post - Hart and Rankin we could cope with but not Black, please! He's the player I'd like to see us base our side around. Brewster gve him his first start and tried to sign him for United, lets hope he's just giving him a short, sharp shock and that the wee man is back in the team for Tannadice.

Who will be our new assistant manager? Who do you want and who do youthink we will get? Candidates could be Malky Thomson, although Chester will doubtless have a bit of cash and he might not want to pack it in down there. Maybe get Charlie back involved, that would be an interesting one :015: Also, Kevin MacDonald just left the Republic of Ireland job but is still involved at Aston Villa as reserve coach. Would he leave that job to come to the SPL as an assistant? Personally I am sure it will be Hagi. IHE said it and he only speaks the truth.

I think Lee Bullen would be a great signing. Pressley is a bit over-rated I think, certainly shouldn't be near the Scotland squad. If we got a chance to take himn on loan we should jump at it though, he'd do a good job for us. I don't think it'll happen.
