  1. Well said ymip, WynessLegend and DJS. Some people embarrass themselves on this forum.
  2. Charlie Christie Resigns as Inverness Manager.
  3. Rowan Alexander is a lunatic and a rubbish manager. I could have won the second and third divisions witht he money he had and he did hsi best to **** up a 'gimme' position as Gretna boss this season.
  4. Some of the names on this thread are chilling: Stephen kenny - terrible manager, the Pars will be in the First for a few seasons now. John Robertson - Failed at Hearts, failed at County, failed at Livingston. Maurice Malpas - Didn't endear himself to the board when he was interviewed in 2004, made a horses arse of Motherwell. Donald Park - Not a manager I'm afraid. Joe Miller - No, no, no, no, no. I wouldn't mind Neil Warnock, if only to see the banter between him and Strachan on the touchline but it'd never happen. Terry Butcher is a decent shout and I wouldn't mind seeing Brewster back, he did well with us previously and knows most of the players. He could also do a turn up front. Someone on P&B suggested Allan Moore, Stirling Albion boss as a dark horse?
  5. 2000/01 we finished 4th but dropped to 6th for 2001/02. We finished 8th last year after finishing 7th in 2005/06.
  6. We knew we were losing a key player and our best defender in january this year. We have only this week signed a new defender and he is a young player, who is injury-prone, who has started less than ten senior matches in his career. Every time Caff has come into the side we haven't looked as good defensively, we needed to sign a dominant centre back but haven't done so. We have lost seven goals in our opening three games - last season we lost three in the same period, the previous season we lost one, our first SPL season we lost six. We are going backwards defensively and this will cost us, it already has cost us actually. It's all very well making exciting signings like Niculae, who by the accounts I've read did alright today and made a contribution, but we aren't a rich side and need to maintain the solid foundations that has served us so well since we were promoted to the SPL.
  7. Absolute shtie.
  8. the Highland News is a shocking rag. In a semi-Niculae related memory, I recall watching Scotland lose to Romania during the Vogts era in the Phoenix, although the game was somewhat ruined by the chief sports writer or whatever job title he had that week of the HN hog-whimperingly drunk shouting 'ROMANIA? ******* ROMANIA, HOW CAN WE LOSE TO ******* ROMANIA, THEY'RE ******* *****" at the telly. Evidently the years of talented Romanian teams had passed this gent by.
  9. Goals from Montrose 5 Stirling 1 - Garry Wood scores the third and fourth Excellent goal to make it 4-1.
  10. Absolutely shocking red card.
  11. I just ordered Setanta as part of my Virgin media package. Should start getting it in the next 24 hours.
  12. He only played six games last season and didn't get a runout in pre0-season of course he is short of match practice. Arrogance isn't always a bad thing in a footballer.
  13. Sickening.
  14. Keogh disappointed in the SPL. He played well between November 2003 and May 2004 but outside that period didn't contribute much.
  15. From the P&J
  16. Rory did not get '7 or 8 starts'. Last season Rory was started five times in the SPL, although he did effectively start that game against Celtic when he came on after a minute or so. For the other thirteen sub appearences he played an average of 12 minutes. In half of his substitute appearences he played less than ten minutes. Of the five league games Dargo missed I recall that we lost four of those, fair enough Rory didn't play well in all those games - he did give a great performance against Celtic. Why single out McAllister?
  17. Rory is still an inexperienced player. In the last two seasons he has been used mainly as a substitute, getting 10-15 minutes. People are judging him on these fleeting appearences and, as Bridge_Ender said earlier on this thread, pouring abuse on a young player. He has shown that he can perform in the SPL - he was one of our best players when thrown into a game against Celtic last season and in the Dunfermline game last season he came on, won the free kick that created our first goal and scored our second. He has a good record in the reserves and has been picked for his international side in his age group. It is frustrating to see him playing poorly, as he undoubtedly did on Saturday but the whole team played poorly, with many far worse than Rory. He is becoming a scapegoat for our teams failings when he hardly plays. It might be that he isn't good enough and that he has to restart his career somewhere else but I think that the vitriol poured on him, especially on here (four page threads, users berating him on their signatures) is undeserved and counterproductive.

    Big Bobby Mann

    Surely not true?
  19. Considering that we knew Dods was leaving so long ago it's a shocker that we haven't got anyone lined up.
  20. Acutally, why not give one of the younger lads a chance in defence? Guy Kerr or Jamie Duff? that or sign a defender next week.
  21. From BBC site: In addition to this the official Gretna forum has been taken down due to Rowan Alexander posting. One of his posts was reproduced on P&B: :017:
  22. -------------------------Fraser-------------------------- --Tokely------Munro----------Hastings----Morgan-- ---Wilson--------Cowie----Duncan-------Rankin---- ------------------Bayne-----Niculae/MacDonald--------
  23. Surely that only applies to non-EU players? Edit: Just read the Home office link on the other thread, it seems this restriction is in place.
  24. Romania is in the European Union so it shouldn't be difficult.
