  1. It might be a bit late, but ah who cares?! Thought for a friendly it was quite a good game, with Esson, Tokely and Foran all impressing. I also think that Gillet looks a good signing and Blumenshtein has some nice touches but I don't think he's a winger. And Odhiambo has to get a mention as well, what an improvement! Miles better than last season and I think he's looking faster too! Antwerp I thought were a good team and had a bit more bite about them going forward than Vallodolid. Something else I noticed was the size of the Belgian players, the geezer up front was massive, as was that number 2 playing centre back. Overall quite a good performance for a friendly with some players showing good signs of potential.

Indeed he did, Wyness was substituted after 20 seconds with a dislocated shoulder and McAllister came on and had a great game. He went back to normal after that.
  3. I thought it was well worth the ?3 I paid to get in. ICT played well, with Shinnie was good, McBain was confident as were Golabek and Innes (bar one horrible moment). I'm liking the look of Shane Sutherland, he looks like he has some potential about. Johnson had one good save and was okay on the whole. Obviously the key man was Jonny Hayes. He was a class above the rest at times and both of his goals were well taken shimmying round a number of Clach defenders. I feel a Super Sub role may be how he will play on Saturday.
  4. He has no dignity at all!
  5. These things happen sometimes. It's life.
  6. Yeah, he must have done it deliberately....
  7. It wasn't the best of games, but the ending of the 1999 Champions League Final between Man U and Bayern was pretty sensational.
  8. I'll post my match report some time soon, but I'm gonna have to quickly say that ICT really need to do something about that PA system. It's beyond a joke. I couldn't make out a word that was said, and it was made worse by some horrible static clicking noises. I'm sure that was a top of the range model in 1954, but come on, we need something better than that!
  9. Now that I've seen all the players, I'd go with - Esson McCann Tokely Munro Gillet Odhiambo Cox Duncan Foran Rooney Blumenshtein Subs - Tuffey, Sutherland, Proctor, Hayes*, Shinnie, Sanchez, Golabek/Ross/McBain * - Hayes as impact substitute.
  10. No chance of that happening, he's hopeless now!
  11. Esson McCann Tokely Munro Gillet Cox Duncan McBain Bulmenshtein Rooney Odhiambo
  12. Maybe they should give you the job, English obviously isn't your first language...
  13. Bit of a dfference there. A journalist writing a report is not an official representative of ICT, an announcer is.
  14. To be quite honest, I hope it's damaged beyond repair! It's rubbish!
  15. It wasn't just the Spanish players names these geezer got wrong, it was some of the ICT ones too! He seemed to have trouble at times pronouncing Gil Blumenshtein, Kenny Gillet and at one point last season referred to Thierry Gathuessi as Fairy Gattusso!
  16. I would just like to say that if the Wikipedia editor is indeed a bit more in the know, I would just like to make it known that if Shane Smeltz has indeed signed for our fair club, I would be delighted.
  17. Aye, their flag was down the away dug out end, but it's not necessarily about anyone being "offended", it's more about how professionally the club portrays itself.
  18. There was a Spanish flag.
  19. Indeed, it's not like this announcer was picked out from the street at random. He knew weeks ago that this tie was coming up and if he didn't know how to pronounce Vallodolid, then he should of looked it up and learned it. You'd never hear a commentator on the TV say - "Well here comes the Spanish team for tonight's game, but unfortunately they're foreign so I won't tell you who they are cause I don't know how!" It's just very unprofessional, that's what it is.

Calder Tokely Dods Mann Hayes Wilson Bingham Sheerin Robson Dargo Wyness (1st spell) Subs - Esson, Christie, Stewart, Black, Hastings, Brewster, Rankin/Foran/Richie Manager - Steve Paterson Edit - I somehow managed to forget Paul Richie!
  21. Well he was born in Germany, but he plays for NZ (and has done since the U20s), grew up there and counts himself as a New Zealander. He is thus one of them.
  22. Yeah, it Smeltz like a hoax. He's scored 40 goals in the last 2 A-league seasons and probably makes decent money. Shame though, could've been an extravaganza of puns on this thread if we'd signed him. He scored against Italy for NZ at the World Cup IIRC.
  23. According to Wikipedia, ICT's number 22 and presumably new signing is striker.....Shane Smeltz! Though he is down as Australian, even though he is actually a New Zealander!
  24. A bit of a dull game really. ICT really need to keep the ball down a bit more, they did at times, but sometimes it's just long ball after long ball. Vallodolid played some nice stuff. Proper Spanish football for periods, but maybe lacked a bit of bite going forward. Tuffey was solid, Tokely had a good game and Odhiambo again looked good, along with Cox and Ross putting in good shifts. Blumenshtein was anonymous a lot of the time, and I think that's mainly to do with he was played. He has a good touch and some other good aspects of his game, but he's no tear-away-winger like Hayes. Hopefully Butcher will see this and moves him to the centre, cause if he stays out wide it'll probably be more of the same. Gillet looked comfortable on the ball and seems to have potential, but did look a little rusty at times but that's to be expected considering he hasn't played a game for a few months. Rooney again didn't get the distribution. I still feel ICT are maybe one good striker away from a good team, but there is potential in what is in hand.

Did Butcher not say the other day that with the results of the scans, Hayes and Foran can now work their way back to full fitness?
