  1. Good 2nd half performance after a shaky start. We reverted to a back 4 with Trafford sitting in front. Vigurs played further forward & Polworth was again given a lot of freedom. Connor Bell came in from the left to support Baird when we attacked. The 1st half was scrappy with few chances at either end. Although Brechin didn't create much, they had Elsdon & McKay flustered on a couple of occasions & must've returned from the break thinking they could still take something from the game. How wrong they were. We dominated them completely & should've scored more. Vigurs & Trafford bossed the midfield, repeatedly sending Polworth off to drive into space through the middle. Robbo's got him playing in his best position now, & the centre of midfield looks to have a nice balance. For all that, i'm still a bit worried about the rest of the team.
  2. Morton weren't prepared for that system & Polworth found loads of space in the first 20 minutes while Vigurs & Trafford controlled the midfield. We should have killed it in that opening spell but Duffy clearly saw what was going on & flooded the midfield. Morton were the better team thereafter & missed good chances in the second half. It was my first proper look at this team having only been at Stirling so far this season. Hats off to Robbo for changing the system - it definitely suits Polwarth and we look more able to create chances. Chalmers was more comfortable in a back 3 & Warren had a good game but McKay struggled. Neither wing-back made much of an impression, Trafford faded & Vigurs was good throughout. I wonder if he's upped his game or if he just looks better because he's surrounded by such mediocrity. Oakley was very poor. If Susan is as bad as people are saying then we really need to sign someone to play alongside Baird or Bell.
  3. Sad news. Still, i'm off to stick a tenner on him to be appointed as our next manager.
  4. Charles, as you're "winding down" and "not all that fussy", can't you be a bit more explicit? Those of us with no more than a passing acquaintance with The Heathmount don't know what you're getting at.
  5. We were linked with this guy last year. Who actually identifies our targets?
  6. Any updates on this? No Clach game?
  7. I heard Danny MacDonald as well. CC's nemesis.
  8. If we had journalists willing to investigate and report the way our club is run then i wouldn't give a damn about their spelling.
  9. Joe Chalmers is a left back. I hope Tremarco's not going anywhere.
  10. Davidson could become the third ICT player whose father played for both Caley & Thistle.
  11. Chris has failed to get Sergio Markarian linked in the press despite 10 years of trying. I think Stevie Aitken's a good shout, mainly because he looks like Spud from Trainspotting.
  12. Yet another IHE stooge on the board.
  13. We should definitely get Machine in, if only to destabilise Brechin in advance of next season's relegation battle.
  14. By some distance, that was the best performance i've seen from us this season. In attempting to fit our best midfielders into the team, Richie's wound up chopping and changing the shape all season but he might finally have landed on a formation that gets the best out of them. Vigurs sat behind Tansey and Draper and was the heart of some excellent passing moves - his ball through for Fisher's goal was delightful. Polworth isn't a natural wide player, but he put in a hell of a shift and is obviously more reliable defensively than Cole or Mulraney. Same team on Saturday, surely.
  15. Had a wee look back at my season so far after seeing this - i've been to 10 games (all away league games) and seen us pick up 10 of our 11 away points. Last night was magnificent.
  16. Polworth for Anier. Playing Polwarth wide is obviously not ideal, but he's versatile enough to be moved around during the game as it pans out. Plus Anier is ******* honking.
  17. So we're being given the stands, not the stadium. The BBC headline and title of this thread are a little misleading. Financially, what do we have to gain from ownership of the stands?
  18. Hiya Roddy. You're right - big game today as is next week. Full points from these and the Rangers game will be 6 pointer in the race for Europe.
  19. Interesting line-up. I assume Polwarth moves inside but does Draper drop back?
  20. I find the argument that the SNP are deliberately facilitating austerity in order to build support for independence a little far-fetched to say the least. Are you two usually gung-ho for tax rises or is this just another opportunity to put the boot in? If they'd announced a basic rate increase (the only increase that would have any meaningful effect on revenues) on Tuesday then you can be sure that Charles would've been straight on here giving it big licks on capital flight, brain drain and the rest of the Reaganite routine. Scottish Labour have put together some interesting proposals on tax and it'll be very interesting see how the clear blue water that has finally emerged between them and the SNP on taxation plays out in the debate tonight, but there are many strong arguments against raising taxes in a small part of a country that is cutting them. You may not agree with those arguments but i suspect but that your haste in labeling them "cynical" and "grievance-mongering" from the outset is motivated primarily by tribalism.
