Cant offer contracts if the club dont have any money and without knowing the level of ST sales, it'll be very difficult to budget a playing staff with certainty of being able to pay through the whole season - a fact not lost on agents and players. Dont buy this whole idea that local 'lads' will be the best option and will offer more pride because they grew up nearby, given our small fanbase I'd suggest most are probably still subject to the Scottish curse of following 'big teams' There's going to be a real wake up call for many fans when they see the quality of team we can field with our youth or local talent if it comes to fruition and they should brace themselves for League 2 rather than be looking upwards.

Can the land lease be sold by the club though? Contractually would the council not need involved and agree change of use or ownership? Ideally if we could find a business/industry who could optimise that land and develop the area but that takes a lot of time to allow of permitted selling the lease. Get enough income to clear debts and move elsewhere. The timescale for all that you'd think will exceed the one for administration unless those engagements are well underway and have been for some time.

Will this be the informed opinions of Mr dodds with irrelevant input from Miller and bonner?
-
Probably a chance that some of those people will be away on holiday with family etc (possibly not even in the country) given its only just over 2 wks since the season finished - finding out information through platforms such as this or social media wont help any anxiety either.
-
Toaster & kettle? We dont have any contracted players worth selling and the stadium is on land that is leased. Not much to sell TBH
-
Agreed, but as you know contracts have many clauses - we have sen numerous employees at the club get gardening leave and/or be paid for month or years after dismissal. Hopefully if (as the media state) this is a resignation (not being forced out by the remaining board members) as indicated he will only have a month long period at most, but it seems football is not like other real world scenarios unfortunately.

So whats his notice period and during that time what duties is he still performing?

Thanks for the summation, but its not a bad position though is it from their perspective? Invest £250k (between 3 off) awaiting the sale for £3m+ (although may be significantly less now) earning each major shareholder a (high) 6 figure sum in profits meanwhile still (in the case of SG) being able to claim back loans made to the club. Money is a powerful tool as is greed, while it may be dishonorable its legal and not sure if the protagonists would care about that or otherwise.
-
Unless I mis-understood the battery farm was divested with shared being sold to directors to allow for a £250k cash injection into the club keeping the lights on (so essentially they are now the controlling individuals in ownership). The premise was that they got their money back there's a gesture of goodwill which would return any additional funds to the club. With no legal requirement to do so therefore, based on ownership if the BF goes ahead and the directors pursue sale or otherwise there is the same position where its entirely voluntary what they do with the funds (as owners they can walk away with their percentage each) Again, I may be wrong. Whether its considered ethically or morally right based on what has been said is open for discussion.

100% agree, and today the (majority of) fans want and understand the need for that, however this has been said before and met with negativity from plenty. Too many hark back to the 'glory' days of cup finals, premiership football and Europe citing that it was done before with journeymen players so why cant we do that again (repeatedly) and this for many remains the bar of expectation. There is limited realism within areas of the fanbase and its pounced upon if there is the slightest suggestion that a) the people of Inverness in the majority do not care, so lets stop looking at us being a big city and assuming we 'deserve' to have a top level club on that sole basis & b) that our fanbase, footfall and income all aligns with low end Championship or League One (now we are there lets see how long before dissent comes that we are not progressing enough)

Wonder now if any of the vocal critics will be stepping up with £1.5m to keep the club afloat?
-
Dunc is hopefully arranging a friendly with his old pal Don Carlo

Dont forget the ability to pump endless tens of thousands of pounds regularly with no return. Not many of them running to be front of the queue to take the reigns.

If the club are really saving £300k plus a year moving training to Kelty plus other cuts and savings to be considered, even loosing out on a hypothetical £200k from some fans (which the club will consider likely to have a change of heart during the season) then technically they are still better off. This is about business, money and profit & loss accounts - think SG made that pretty clear in this interview - just thats not what fans want to hear or is the popular driver. Its also very clear this is a gamble and big roll of the dice to get back to the Championship at first time of asking, otherwise people will be getting their wish of admin. Anything other than a quick return we cannot afford - which for a support that was critical of recruitment and investment over previous seasons to get into the Premiership many now seem happy to cut to P/T and youth players when clearly we will end up jobbing about in League 1 for many years.

Thats not very inspiring for selling to superstar Central belt talent. We really need to be aiming for minimum 2nd in that group although I fear we could be much more likely bottom end.
-
No they didn't, absolutely nothing like this case. The club is not moving nor is the stadium or the name changing.

Demonstrates the wide demographic and geographic fan base

Interesting.

his thread seems to have migrated from needing players to train locally to now they need to be H&I indigenous too. Be keen for any of the statos out there to tell us when the last time ICT put out a full 11 of highlanders?
-
That the same youth system that our loaned players barely made any impact all at levels way below not just championship but league one. Too many thinking we have a class of 92 when we are lucky to get one average player out of each annual group. The youngsters we have will not get us out of league 1, be fortunate if they could even keep us there. I'm sure they will be included to supplement into a team but cannot on existing evidence build it around them.

Any news of inbound central belt superstars yet?
