  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22447018 A truely remarkable record at Man U but even considering his achievements at the Dons & St Mirren. A true great of the game, doubt his records will be surpassed TBH. So who next press say Moyes, what about 'the special one' is this the move he was hinting at? Will be interesting.
  2. Agree with those above - same team as the Well game, but Raven comes back in, with Devine dropping out and Meekings back in the middle. Formation and tactics just the same. I liked the pace at which we played with Shinniesta & Nick playing - Doran moving around and Billy up front trying to run behind the defence. Leaves Foran & Draper holding the middle. Main danger is GMS and how we keep him out of the game though.
  3. Great news, never bothered with a ST before, but after going to 10 home games this season its probably just a beneficial for me to get one for next year - especially if the price is frozen :)
  4. Happy with that result - mainly because it will wind up Lennon.
  5. Great game, some excellent play and everyone showed real guts towards the and for the winner. Good to see billy back in the goals and to those who question shinniesta and his commitment - doubt you can say that today. 3rd v 2nd chasing Europe, 2nd last home game this season but a crap crowd. Disappointed not to see more reward for the players effort this year.
  6. Good to see that he's still finding success after all the (well documented) problems he has had in his career I'm sure for some this will make him number 1 candidate on here to replace TB if we fail to make Europe this year.
  7. We have used 30? I didnt think we even had that number available in the squad? Of the 11 listed as signed that doesnt include any youth players - realistically a club our size should have about 16-18 players then the youth team IMO.
  8. Obvioulsy I hope Doran stays, but is he goes then there is a chance for Pepper, also with Shinniesta going - its time for Nick to step up with it being a make or break season for him IMO. These are two guys who know how we play and could slot in.
  9. Its Faddy who is now making Well tick, they seem to have become a more resiliant unit in the last few months with him on board which has conincided with the scoring run for Higdon. We need to stop the creative threat and being a home game have to take something. I'd suggest Foran to go man-on-man with Faddy. Shinniesta to start and in a bold move I'd drop Billy, hasnt scored for a bit and with it being a scrappy game it will be long balls forwards - so get Shane in there to use his body and hold up the ball for Doran & Shinniesta.
  10. Seeing Lennon greet again is probably the best part of this years nominations - almost makes the winner irrelevant. As for his points on his players, - Forster - IMO there have been better keepers this season in Samson & Bell - Commons - Don't recall him being that good in the first half of the campaign - Hooper - best team in the SPL, creates most chances but isnt leading scorer? - Wilson - really? - Wanyama - nominated for best young player, seems fair enough to me as he will most likely win it. And just to cap it off NL is going to boycott the awards - hope that this is remembered when it comes to manager awards this and future seasons.
  11. Blow for Warren and he has done so well for us this year, but this gives him an extended break to fully recover - Devine is more than capable and I would suggest if we are in a good position to secure that Euro place we may see Hogg get a few mins during the last home game of the season. TB probably isnt the only manager to bring a player back too soon if the player said they were fit to play - look at last night!!!
  12. I agree with above. Think the smart money is on Higdon - both McGinn & Griffiths have been good for their teams but havent managed to get their sides into top 6, although some of the goals Griffiths has scored have been expectional and without those 2 players who knows how close to relegation boths Hibs & Dons would be. Overall Higdon has been consistent all year and shown by the fact hs is top SPL scorer and Well are now second, sadly Andy has dipped in form a wee bit recently, but its great he is recognised especially unlike the others he hasnt scored near as many goals it shows that his creativity has been noticed. Must be slightly frustrating for both our board and Motherwell to both have players that could be names SPL player of the year but are out of contract in the summer so walk away for nothing when this could have produced interst from bigger clubs and transfer fees.
  13. Hope the guy does well and continues to develop and make it to an even higher level. Been a good servant for us and shows some excellent touches and creativity which will be missed. Seeing him score in the cup semi and the celebration you could see what it meant to him. I would continue to play him until the end of the season unless people think we have someone more creative and better to select?
  14. As above its a great achievement for the club and a tie anywhere would and should be celebrated - obviously if we were to get a draw against some 'minnows' from Cyprus or Malta then its sunny holiday & football time - if not its Ireland and some Guinness in the rain!!!
  15. On that basis the SPL will always remain at the bottom of that hill as Rangers no longer exist - perhaps as a former player he might have grasped that?
  16. Nick or Connor will play in the shinnie position next year and i expect some new, free players from down south to come in as even lower league Scottish clubs demand far too much compensation for comparable players.
  17. Freedom of the highlands would be better lol
  18. isnt it odd that nobody cared when Di Canio was manager in the lower leagues of England - governed by the same FA body and reported by the same sections of the media.
  19. Worried by some names mentioned in here. Id rather a young prospect with potential than a journeyman on a high wage warming the bench.
  20. Chance for others after having a settled team for much of the season, so oppertunity to try win new deals or force their way into next years plans. While still bad news its probably the best time as we have secured top 6 and although chasing for Europe we are back on a good run so the team is on a high making it easier for someone else (Devine) to slot in (better than this happening 6 wks ago IMO)
  21. it SHOULD be a muted affair and they SHOULD be ashamed of the disgrace they brought on Scottish football.........but they won't they will see this as proof they are still a mighty force and try to show the strength of the clubs and fans buy an overly elaborate celebration calling on as many fans as they can - meanwhile citing that had they been allowed to remain in the SPL where they feel they belong they would have been challenging Celtic for the title!!!
  22. Team desperatley needs a leader - where is the Gough/Hendry type characters. Not enough passion, not enough skill, not any hope. Bin off those who failed to deliver both last night and upto now and start blooding the U21's.
  23. Couldnt fathom out the team, WGS picks younger or relatively inexperienced players like Hanley/Snodgrass/MacArthur but then gets a player injured and brings in Miller or includes Maloney - needs to decide are we persevering with those who have filed in the past or being bold with new younger players - cant try both successfully IMO.
  24. Looks like this is happening :( Shame as I think he is a good player and based on his performances this season and the number of games we have won with him in goal, I would have liked him to stay and be number #1. But if he is getting first team football elsewhere then I can understand why he would leave.
