  1. Whilst i have the greatest admiration for Mileson and sincerly wish him personally all the best,i never understood the whole Gretna thing. It was painnfully obvious to all it was a project that could only survive as long as vast resources were being poured into it and could never be self sustaining. Why he chose Gretna is beyond me,I heard somewhere he originally wanted Carlisle and was knocked back so went on a mission to prove a point, not sure of the truth of that, but it may explain why Gretna

Wiz at the game with the svelt like Maime on Saturday, even weeDee couldnae tempt her wi his eclairs, this could be costly :029:
  3. Interesting to see them thinking of ways to generate a larger customer base than catering purely to the few Gaelic speakers, dont agree with the funding and it will fall on it's erse sooner rather than later, especially if they dont get a place on the freeview platform, but fair play to them for attempting to be inovative.
  4. It can be tough following the Dee at times rite enuff, but widnae go as far as calling it "****":015:
  5. Thats what footballs ALL about , feck Man U,Chelsea,Barcelona etc, support yer local sherrif, have a great night Macca
  6. IMHO,I dont think it's an ICT thing or an SPL thing,it's just an internet thing, when websites were in their infancy their was more of a small group feel to them, the craic was great and was contained within the site. Now the media and clubs are aware and watching , mods(quite rightly) are concerned about litigation leading to closer scrutiny and moderation of posts, some of the more extreme posters see this as censorship and move on,it's a shame but just the way it is.For what it's worth i still think this is one of the best site for craic and club information, some sites tend to become so moderated and football orientated as to become completly dull ,others,to liberal and an intimidatory attitude from some posters can be offf putting. Thats meh thoughte on it anyways.......BRING BACK CYRIL!!!!

Airdrie have a similar scheme, their "fans" throw bricks to your buses on departure from the stadium
  8. I mind back in the late 70's i was down in Glasgow for a Scotland game, walking down a street round Hampden with Rampant lion on flag pole,White van drives past so the bold lad waves said flag in front of van and the flag is whipped off by the wing mirror leaving me waving just the pole,I set off in hot pursuit with calls of " ya theivin weegie, gies ma flag back"...............van screeches to a halt ,doors fly open and a dozen of Galsgows finest are in the back! 2 jump out and huckle me into the back, long lecture on how to behave in Glasgow!!!! then one traumitised young footy fan is turfed back oot the van minus the flag and the pole :007:
  9. Typical feckin Arabs, cannae depend on them to do anything right!! Maime ,if we make make it all the way ,i'll pay for yer bus seat

Agony listening to that, last few minutes being down to 9 men then 5 minutes added on :crazy07: but amazing result all things considered,QOS away will be tough without Macdonald and Mackenzie as they are the form team in the divison at the moment, but will be a braw day out, with a semi (against Yenited please) as an incentive BRING IT ON :021:

Right, thats a week gone by, whats my balance standing at just now?who's losin maist? or mebbes i'm a few quid up reading about all the chips an sausages you's are snacking on
  15. :015: saw this and thought of you...... Anyway, S.P.L. rule A251.1.1 annexe D sub section 14 states " the rules in place at any given time are of no concequence should the SPL board decide they dont suit their position at any given time" so this rule over rules all previous rules Gretna will go down!
  16. Qoute from Mileson...... "We may have to redevelop Raydale and everything is in place to do that - it's just a matter of pressing a button. In these days of modern build, stands are just like Meccano sets." Mileson said: "If we're forced to stay at Raydale we have been told we'd still need to play all our matches at Fir Park next season. What we need to do, by March 31, is provide proof that our ground, wherever it may be, will be ready for the start of the season after that. P.S. When did the SPL ever become associated with a "fair and consistant hand"? I find it hard to believe i am argueing in their defence, however in this instance i feel they are quite correct and will, as i said above simply refuse to grant approval
  17. Plans in place and an eco-stadium? as i said, their taking the P***. Questions are being asked about Accies stadium and their synthetic pitch but no doubt it will wait till end of season till the annual close season fiasco begins.
  18. Fair enough, there is no 1 season written rule in the book, however, the ground shareing concession was brought in to allow ambitious smaller clubs a work round and give them time to gather finace to fund their rules compliant stadium.Gretna are painfully obviously taking the P*** and have made no efforts to even start upgrade work, for this reason, i think the SPL would be quite right to invoke the wording of the ground share rules and simply not grant approval:- "If a club intends to "ground share" or occupy a ground other than one owned by the club concerned, then such an arrangement requires the approval of the Board of the SPL" If they were genuinely ambitious and attempting to comply and held back for financial//technical difficulties there may be a case to argue.
  19. Think i might just head down Grant street the day and give Clach a much needed few quid, seeing as oor game is aff :008: mutter, mutter, moan girn,
  20. I'm not as sure as yerself that there was no time restriction on length of groundshare, sure it was 1 season max but i am open to being corrected, if there IS no time limit, the ruling is completely pointless as any team can groundshare for their time in the SPL however long that may. It's not like the SPL to have loopholes in their legislation tho is it?
  21. D,I,m sure we are in agreement that it's the system at fault and i'm certainly not of the "we had to do it so you" should school of thought, indeed, i have argued loud and long on ICT and St Mirren before's defence. But, as in society, the rules in place at any given time are the ones to be adhered to regardless whether they suit your circumstances. If the rules are breached the punishment should be enforced or the whloe system is pointless.(which in the case of the SPL is hard to argue against)
  22. Mebbe's i'm more bitter than most, but sitting here with no football today,(and Dundee losing a lot of revenue due to the rescheduled game being midweek) as a direct result of Gretna being allowed to groundshare with Motherwell,in the light of their lack of action to right this, i would certainly think twice in the future,as will many i'm sure, about throwng my support behind smaller teams being admitted without facilities able to cope with the criteria set out. Whether i agree with these criterias is a totally different arguement.
  23. I normally agreee with CaleyD's well thought out and reasoned arguements, however ,in this instance you are so of the mark i just have to take umbrage,I have no axe to grind with Gretna per se( i save that for Livi) BUT, they came up (to the SPL) on the same proviso as ICT,that many fought long and hard for, to get these ridiculous rulings overturned,by not following through, they are making a mockery of Scotish football (if thats possible). The beginnings of my own teams demise stemmed from having to adhere to the regulations in place and the absurd 10,000 seater ruling driving us to the edge of extiction,so please, dont give me the "footballs the only criteria" argument

Big up to the 5 heading for weight loss island for the BHF,great idea. To add a wee competitive edge between 2 regular posters,I'll pledge a pound per pound for whoever loses the most between L_g and Maime, get on them tread mills ladies :clapping03:
  25. I guess it depends on the will of the hard core Clach support and how much they want to see their team survive. It's obvious from comments most local folk seem to have a soft spot for Clach but they are not going to be part of the financial salvation of the club, many however (myself included) would probably contribute if fundraising on a larger scale was organised from within the club to ensure it's survival.
