  1. Likewise, I'm out
  2. Think somebody's takin the pizza! yer lucky if ya can get a peh in gravy
  3. Yer right mannie. I don't think I've ever seen him have a decent game. He can chuck himself around a bit but thats it really. No worries. Did you no catch his derby goals against yer "other" team Davie :022: If he can stay fit ,he'll deffo do a job for Partick in this league
  4. Why is Owen(s) (sic) a mercenary more than any other player? He moved to Real. Did very well but didn't get on with the manager. Tried to move back to Liverpool but 'pool didn't have the money demanded by Madrid, so had to go somewhere else. Likewise, when his contract ran out with Newcastle, Liverpool didn't come in for him, so he moved somewhere else. What's he supposed to do? Not play for any other club? Turn down the chance to play for the English Champions in the very top flight but instead go to the likes of Hull because the club he wanted to go to didn't want him back? Madness! I await your hammering of Dennis Wyness or Barry Wilson, who both did much the same with Hearts and Livi, i.e. move on for a challenge and better money. And how dare they sign for a fellow relegation struggler in St Mirren (so Denzil tried to get ICT relegated) and QoS (plays for the north then goes as far south as he can and deliberately plays to win thus denying ICT points as they attempt to go back up). My opinion of Owen(s) (thanks for correcting me) was formed due to his lack of commitement and effort shown in a Newcastle shirt, despite being happy to collect the massive salary that went with the expectations, which he never achieved. "Form" would come back in spells when an England place beckoned but seemed happy to coast with little effort or passion for the club.At the end of the day,i'm sure most footballers are fairly mercinary in what club they end up at,but they are cheating the supporters who pay their wages if they then don't commit themselves 100% to that club.I'm understand he is on a "pay to play" contract at Man U,so I'm sure we'll see more effort and less injuries, or am i just being cynical Barry Wilson and Dennis, i'm sure, never give less that 100% whoever they are playing for
  5. S'pose at the end of the day all professional footballers have their price, but some will wrestle with their consience more than others.Gerrard is a consumate professional and at the end of the day how many millions do ya need? I can understand the desire to reach the pinnacle of your profession, but would hope some one like Gerrard would do it moving abroad, not going his arch rivals and rubbing the noses of those that have paid his sizeable wages over the years. As for having nothing to show for his time at Liverpool.............. FA Cup (twice) League Cup (twice) FA Community Shield (twice) UEFA Champions League (once) UEFA Cup (once) UEFA Super Cup (twice) Isnae a bad haul ,but i'm sure he would love to add a league title or two to the list
  6. IMHO,Gerrard come's across as one of the very few players who retain a modicum of club loyalty, unlike Owens who is a total mercenary,i very much doubt Gerrard could stomach the move to Old Trafford,he appears to have more dignity that that. (Nothing against Man U of course! ) Just to turn the thread title round..... Gerrard, a one team man ( time will tell)
  7. Great signing for Partick, not so good for the rest of us they were a good team before and now will be very dangerous
  8. I see in today's Courier Jim Eglington at HCVF is launching InvernessTV.net in January.Surely this a too good an opperchancity for the club to miss and with an obvious choice of in house presenter in the shape of CaleyD,negotiations need to be instigated forthwith,no?
  9. First full house at Dens in years on Tuesday night and averaging over 5000 at home games,5 years after our own administration,so things can be turned round but the passive support has to be enthused. As CaleyD said many things are instrumental in turning folk away from the footy and it's up to the clubs to find ways to stimulate the interest,a winning team being the main one,but pricing and bringing back an enjoyable match day experiance would help.
  10. Ken thats tongue in cheek ,but would just like to say, Bullock has been an absolute revalation this season. He's Jocky's neebor and was brought in as a back up to Rab Douglas, a'body at Dens not at all impressed with him being an ex Arab,(although i warmed to him up in Dingwall for the way he dealt with the "banter" from our lot) he has won everyone round with some superb displays, theres no way Rab will get back in with Bully playing as he is just now and i never thought i'd hear maself say that!! Ya just can't beat a bit of Bully
  11. Lucie should win the x factor if it was just down to talent, singing and ability, but already Simon Cowell is dripping poisen as she's not his act,she was superb singing Funny Valentine and he came out with pish about her "singing like an actress" He knows fine she was brilliant but as she's no in his stable he spins it against her. :)
  12. Sad day for Clachnacuddin. Clach go into administration
  13. Georgeios,I,m sure there used to be a 4 week re-setllement plumbing and gas fitting techniques course which was supposed to be pretty good as an intro, you can also get yer 4 weeks work experiance with local companies to get some experiance.Don't believe too much of the guff the RAF give you in re-settlement briefs that you will be in demand coz your ex service,it doesn't count for Jacks***.Contacts and experiance are everthing, take any position to get started and knock on doors, good luck.
  14. Several clubs now run their own in house tv highlights,I'm sure Dunfermline use the media dept from Fife college to run theirs. Our own is run by several volunteers, who do a great job with limited resources and supporters join Club Dundee for ?10 a month which gives quite several other benifits such as on line match day program, priorty tickets for games, discounts, etc.I think there are limitations on how much highlights can be shown, but definately do-able and a great boon to exiles. I'm sure with the expertise of the likes of CaleyD and some volunteers ICT could crack a project such as this nae problem.
  15. Mumford and sons.check out this you tube, soooooperb Loving Spotify for checking out all this stuff, that frightened Rabbit were a good shout B)
  16. The BNP were given the platform, they got the press hype and they got a mass audience but Griffen failed massively when the heat was on.I expected a far more polised performance with credible arguments and counters from him, but he came across inept and unconvincing, dont think many will be won over on that showing.Bonnie Greers withering dismissals of him and his fawning smiling acceptance left him looking pretty foolish IMO.
  17. Just one of many i'm sure D,seemed very apt for you at the time and fair play for argueing yer points well, your no on Question time any time soon are ya?
  18. Wondered what yer avatar wiz about Rig, my young lad was commenting on it the other night saying it spooked him but i'd nae idea what it was,i can enlighten him now. My own one is a classic Dundee icon and the vague hope one day we might just win a (real) trophy again Caley D,you mind where that avater came from ?
  19. Highland dark Blues will be taking a small (but perfectly formed) bus doon to the final. After a quick stop in Pitlochry for a sqaure go with IHE, we'll head on into Perth for pre match beers,no sure where we're going for celebrations afterwards yet tho
  20. The same Jason Scotland refused a work permit by the SPL apeals comittee cause he was deemed not good enough to contibute significantly to the standard of football in the SPL ? surely no!
  21. Naw, Dundee asked to be designated the home team because of our away record!! B)
  22. How do you "Forfil" a dream :D Pedantic Dee
  23. Whilst i'd love to see the back of them it's more than likely never gonna happen, good article from our Chairman Bob Brannan in link Bob Brannas thoughts on the OF leaving
  24. In my day to day work i constantly hear psuedo "TV snobs" with the "i hardly ever watch TV" and "its just documentaries and nature programs i like" till you have a look in their Sky+ saved and it's full of Strictly,Corrie, Enders all series linked etc
  25. Ach ya miserable auld chunts, eh enjoy it,good light hearted entertainment.I think the "panel" are a pain in the erse full of cliches and self important self publicising pricks, but it gives some decent talent a window and opperchancity to get a break and takes some bottle to get up there and do it,Jamie has been pub singing for years and is a great talent, but wee Lucie fae Wales is my choice. CaleyD, how can ya condem it as pap if ye'v no watched a single second of it?
