  1. You may just have a point there SMEE.I was "sent" for guitar lessons when i was a kid and while i wanted to learn Led Zep on a flying V I was taught Kumbaya on a steel string acoustic with a neck like a Cricket bat and an action that demanded blood from yer fingers to hold down a chord, hence i lost interest for many years and only about 3 years ago took it up again semi seriously, went for lessons and bought the Squire which is a lovely machine to play without the expense of the real thing but may just treat myself to something a bit more up market and see if it inspires me further ! The wifes gonna lone you!!
  2. Think the whole thing is pretty subjective and it's more a case of horses for courses.I personnaly prefer the sound of Strats as a generalisation but the Gibson is undoubtedly a fantatic geetar ( I only own a cheap and cheerful Squire Strat and keep promising myself i'll purchase a genuine Fender when my playing justifies it, so it may take a while)
  3. BIG doffing of cap to you guy's,just wish we had a team worthy of your efforts ....RESPECT!
  4. PM me with yer location,if your aerial is indoors etc and i'll try to help.Putting a booster on a poor signal will just give an amplified poor signal.
  5. Terrible news.Thoughts with the family.
  6. Klimpl now confirmed at Dens and Antoine Curier loaned out to Hamilton Accies till Jan
  7. Dee's have signed Maros Klimpl on 3 year deal, hopefully stop some of they leaked goals  http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...dee/8230246.stm Apparently the beeb have jumped the gun a wee bit on this ane and he's no actually signed yet but on his way for talks, fingers crossed (well mine anyway)
  8. he wisnae talking pesh, but these have now fallen through :) Jocky in the Courier
  9. I know i dont make it into the "old gits" category yet, but i had the good fortune to be involved in a wee whisky tasting education a few weeks back ,I was surprised to find tasting blind i prefered a whisky created for the asian market and now available in UK but only from the Muir of Ord distillery called Singleton, lovely drop.Still like Macallan 10 year old from choice and Laphroag is beyond me why anyone would drink that for pleasure And no DBS Jack Daniels disnae count!!
  10. Won't be sorted in time to play against you lads ,but should be in the sqaud V Airdrie the following week all being well B)
  11. Can't think of one Dee supporter eh know who thinks it's remotely "in their pockets already" Saturday will be a good gauge of where we all are though I'd settle for us robbing you again Think Dunfermline may say that of last week no?
  12. Me + 15ish. Last time i saw Dee V ICT at Dens, we won 3-1 and i got the correct score on bookies @14/1 .....kerching settle for the same again, but enjoy yer day oot in the Tayside metropolis
  13. Superb Scotty,Cyber pint on it's way to you. Let me know next time home and i'll get you a real one, help much appreciated :022:
  14. Hi Scotty,Cheers for yer info thus far regarding message board stuff.Think i'm just about there and have set up so folk must log in to post etc as you recomended.Wee prob if i go in through AOL ( i know you hate AOL) it says i'm logged in but returns to log in menu but with IE it works OK ,Any ideas why? Also not sure when you talk of SQL server based messageboards, what are the advantages of this? i take it this one i'm useing just now is hosted on their servers and others would be on my hosts servers?bit baffled by that side of it all.Any info appreciated,do you run night classes??
  15. Hi Maime ,ESPN set up is clear as mud the now,but it appears if you subscribe to Sky sports you can get it for ?9.00 extra or ?12.00 if stand alone on satellite,Also ?9.99 through freeview if you have a Cam ( a wee slot for a card) in your box, which you have if you were getting Setanta before. They seem to be selling it under the top up TV package but dont be tempted into taking any of the other stuff on top up as it's pish IMHO.As Georgios says BT Vision is an option worth considering in your location,I disregarded it initially but it has some good features and you can get some good packages covering TV/broadband/phone calls on Freeview BT Vision On Sky You heading to Dens next week, nae causing bother wi the locals if you are! :P
  16. As ex Forces i can't help but think this is just politicing for points from MP's.Forces pay is pretty decent all things considered and while things in theatre can be tough, outwith they can be pretty cushie.Paid time off for college atttendance and penty paid time off for sports if your that way inclined are 2 perks that imediatly spring to mind and accomadation has come along way since the 70's so i'd suggest freebie tickets etc are uneccessary and slightly patronising.Pay the right rate for the job and let the troops decide what they want to spend it on. Georgios, asked to move every 3 years? i knew loads of lads that did 22 without moving from the Moray coast, policy due to the expense of training, far fewer camps etc has cut down a lot of short postings a great deal.I knew a married guy at Leuchars in the 70's had 13 postings in 12 years!! thats upheaval!
  17. Good man Scotty, that was it,had to check boxes for forum permissions before the forums would show,i had assumed default would be to show but you have to allow groups the permissions :P Feel free to register and have a wee test of it, cheers for yer help and good luck to ICT this season in all games apart fae the 4 obvious ones :D
  18. Right! i set up the in vision one as that seemed easiest option, registered and set up all fine, link goes to it,went to admin CP and set up a few forums, mad sure they had "visible" in drop downs but when you log in, Nae Forums!! tried every option i can see but starting to get a wee bit of computer rage now as i keep going roond in circles, any ideas?
  19. Yer quite right Scotty re the whole site being set up using html,eh didnae know there was another way!! Anyway, I'll away and do some reading and check out these sites and try to get my head round whats needed, will get back in a few days. Thanks both for yer help. PS took a few quid off Gordi at the golf in Nairn last week :P
  20. Right this is where eh embarres myself as i dont even understand the questions never mind the answers!! When u ask what set up i'm using and what system its based on?? I use dreamweaver for setting up pages and cute FTP for uploading pages and these folk for hosting Web mania other than that I'm no sure. Was hopingthere would be a simple message board so lads could comunicate easily with minimal moderation or supervision.Cheers for yer help website
  21. I'm looking to add a wee message board to our website, just want something simple and straightforward, any sugestions/recomendations? Edited to add ......and free!!
  22. Strippers in the Chieftan is nothing new, we used the venue to host a supporters do last time Dundee played ICT.Some of the lads decided to make a weekend of it and organised accomadation and night in town but started with a few beers in the hotel and joined us for a farewell do for one of our members.Unknown to us it was one guys stag do as well and wee heilan very nearly got his first biology lesson when we turned up to find a lady with little attire and legs in positions only russian gymnasts should manage
  23. There ya go, sorted it for you caleyjags B) 1 Dundee 1 1 3 2 Inverness CT 1 1 3 3 Ross County 1 1 3 4 Ayr 1 0 1 5 Partick Thistle 1 0 1 6 Queen of South 1 0 1 7 Raith 1 0 1 8 Airdrie Utd 1 -1 0 9 Dunfermline 1 -1 0 10 Morton 1 -1 0
