  1. I have only been to Campbeltown a few times and don't remember seeing an island out in the loch. Thought it was such a dour place even worse than Wick although there were some nice places on the way down the road.
  2. I have not got a clue on that one but it looks like weeman does! Do you know the castle?
  3. A great performance from all the team today despite the terrible conditions and poor officials. Felt much better walking in the rain back to the car than a few weeks ago.
  4. Aultguish Inn (behind the trees) Ben Wyvis and the telephone exchange opposite. That made it easy for me this time.
  5. Can't see the wood for the trees Here is my view of the Cullins from the Cullin House Hotel.
  6. Well it must be Skye as it is the only one left with mountains that size and woodland but I can't think where unless there is somewhere I have not been. I will have to give up Here is an easy one for someone else.
  7. I thought Ben More on Mull but it looks to big from what I remember unless it's an optical illusion.
  8. Is that Upper Loch Torridon with Inveralligin and Beinn Eighe? I am stuck with the one from Mantis, will need a clue.
  9. Scarlet, I was lucky to travel throughout the Highlands and Islands working for BT. I wish I had a decent camera in the early years and was able to take more photos, although I now have a good digital camera I just have it set on auto and hope for the best Here is an early photo of poor quality with a Kodak Instomatic camera when I was working on the first fibre optic telephone cable which run alongside the railway line from Lochailort to Arisaig and was burnt when the steam train set fire to the heather beside the line. There was some noise standing about 10 feet away when it passed!
  10. That's it. I will need to think on the one from Mantis ?
  11. They have don it! Now it's in our own hands on Saturday lets hope for a decent crowd and another win.
  12. I'm sure that's at Dunbeath but don't know why there would be a Caley connection.
  13. I now know what you do when your not at the football ?
  14. I can only guess thinking of distilleries that I may have been modernised near the A9, Glenmorangie?
  15. My maternal great grandmother was just round the corner at the same time aged 35. She was widowed and also lost a 10 month old son within a month in 1902. 02 April 1911 Census. St Aubyns, 36 Southside Road, Inverness. Domestic Cook for the Shaw family (Duncan Shaw County Clerk of Anderson Shaw Solicitors)
