England v Croatia
What an entertaining game. England were just not good enough to hold on for the draw even after being thrown the lifeline of the softest of penalties. Why do you think it was England didn't go on a lap of honour after coming so close to qualification :003: :003: ?

Free Bus to and from the Stadium
We should be encouraging all fans both home and away. I see no difficulty in away fans using the service after all they are parting with ?20 which benifits the club every bit as much as admission money paid by home fans.

England v Croatia
Not the result I'm hoping for but I suspect England will win this one and qualify as group leaders. How long then before the pundits who were writing them off last week will be touting them as potential tournament winners ?

Souness for Scotland job..?
Souness would be my last choice. Hopefully McLeish will stay but if not I would be keen to see Jim Jeffries in the post.

Scotland -V- Italy
I get the impression that the petition is probably the work of a ten year old. If the petitioner is much older than that he or she should feel every bit as embarrassed as the match officials.

waste of money
Dan, the fact that you can watch SPL football at all in Inverness is a great bonus for those of us brought up on a diet of Highland League fare supplemented by friendlies againt Old Firm XIs ond the odd run as far as the fourth round of the cup. Make the most of it. These are heady times for Inverness football fans.

Who is the best player in the SPL?
A close all betwen Alan Hutton and Scott Brown.

Can Scotland do it...?
Very poor show from the oficials which had it not been for the foul given against Hutton I would say were a series of very bad but honest mistakes largely evening themselves out. I can't, however, for the life of me, see how that last decision was anything other than corrupt the assistant referee had a close and clear view of Hutton, who was in control of th ball, being shoulder charged off his feet by the Italian player. How could he then indicate to the referee that the Free kickshould be awarded against Scotland ? Anyway, it was a valiant effort and pride has been restored in the national side. For the first time in a decade or so I feel optimistic about Sctland's immediate future.

Can Scotland do it...?
Against the odds but why not !

Is Brew still the right man for the job?
The reson you'll stick with it and continue your dedicated and costly devotion to the club is that the players and manager are mere employees whereas you're much more important than that; you are a true fan !

Is Brew still the right man for the job?
I was unhappy about his appointment but the fact of the matter is that we should back him at least in the short to medium term. That said, Brewster's overall managerial record is poor and, in my opinion he will have to demonstrate a considerible upturn in both results and performances over the coming months. We have the luxury, thank heavens, this season of Gretna acting as a buffer between ourselves and relegation but if Brewster hasn't improved the fortunes of the team by March he should make way for his successor to prepare for next season. If I was pressed to answer the direct question posed at the begining of this thread then I'm afraid the answer would have to be no.

Whos our best ever manager?
Bare statistics don't tell the whole story. Bearing in mind the very limited resourses at his disposal and the fact that his team improved year on year over the best part of a decade our best manager by a mile was Steve Paterson.

AVOIDING RELEGATION
I'd much rather we avoider relegation on our own merits. However the reality is that come May we mayall be more than happy to have Gretna as a buffer between ourselves and the First Division.

Brewster
We seemed to get a bit of a lift when Brewster was first appointed but that's very common in any managerial change with players keen to impress the new man and other factors. I had great concerns about Brewster's appontment and nothing has happened since to dispel these. He may be a motivator but he's a poor tactitcian and his ( non) use of tactical substitutions when it's clear to everyone else in the stadium that something needs to be done is an increasing worry. The saving grace this season is that we are unlikely to fall below Gretna who are well short of SPL standard and who have internal strife that makes any problems at the TCS seem like a fleeting domestic tiff. For that reason Brewster has a little more time to get things right but if things are not appreciably better by March then I'm afrais he'll have to go so that the new man has time to prepare for the new season when we will not have the luxury of Gretna acting as a buffer between us and the first division. If Craig is to save his job then he must secure a dependable central defender during the January transfer window.

Top men so far
Cowie certainly and also Wyness who is looking like his old self once again.

ICT - Did You Know
The club has the longest name in British senior football.

That tackle
A shocker, not merely mistimed but a deliberate attempt to injure a fellow player.
-
who goes you decide....
Can't agree with letting Duncan go. He has been competent and reliable ever since we joined the SPL. It may be true that he seldom has a spectacular performance but he rarely has a poor game either plus he's good for one wonder goal from thirty yards every season.

New Announcer at TCS
Enthusiasm is all very well but why does the new man have to shout all the time. Someone should tell him that the stadium now has a reasonable amplification system !
-
County to go Part-Time?
That would be a sad development but, as we know from our own experience, it's difficult enough to sustain full time football in the first division far less the second.

NOVEMBER
Whatever the gap betwwen ourselves and Gretna we need to bolster the squad during the transfer window. We will not have Gretna to rely on as a safety net next season.

Richie.......
I'm pleased to see the club give Richie a second chance. I'm sure he's been warned that any similar transgression will result in his dismissal. Pity he can't play in goal or central defence !

How hard can it be????/
Why am I not surprised that an innocent error as a result of a middle aged man's myopia has produced a rant from Charles Bannerman against the very concept of devolution ?
