Wimbledon 2011
Fully expected Novak to win yesterday with Nadal just not being at his best with his foot injury. Thats now 5 wins in a row against Nadal, and has become the new number 1. Maybe he'll become the new force of Tennis of the next year or so. Off to watch the Davis Cup in Glasgow on friday to get my next tennis fix.

Livi roll call
Real ups and downs at Livi - the quarter final defeat was a total sickener but the 4-1 win when Juanjo gave us the somersault and Spanish dance celebration will always live me - and what about Morgans' equaliser. Me - afraid that the Mental Health of Lancashire is in my hands and saving fer the Englandshire Away days. Not forgetting one of the greatest games of all - 4-3 for the 2nd division.

Caley away kit
I agree that the collar makes this shirt typical to Rangers. I would have been happy cancelling out all blue and having a red and black collar.

Positions/Players Needed for Next Season
I still have a serious problem with that starting line up. I don't know what it is but i just don't think that side is anywhere near good enough for safely stay in the SPL. I've still to watch Aldred and Tade but even when i seen the others they were playing against Clach! The next 4 matches will give us a good chance to see who is good enough for ICT and i'm hoping Butcher has a few more trialists up his sleeve.

Terry Butcher backs team GB
Not much of an ICT debate here but i agree with Terry Butcher. All other athletes from Scotland competing in the Olympics are in team GB so why not in football? This is a tournament i believe we should be apart of and my only problem would be how would the squad be selected. I would like to see each nation given a minimum amount of about 4-5 players to compete making its a fair and equal representation of the four nations involved. Its stupid to think just because we will play under 23 football with GB that our entire national team will be stripped. This is a one off tournament every 4 years, In Rugby you have the British Lions and you also have the four individual nations still competing. Even in Tennis we represent GB in the Davis Cup, another one off tournament. We don't really take the Olympic football too seriously but i think that has to do with the European Championships being on during the same summer with the Olympics taking a backseat to that. The Olympics was never intended to compete with the major tournaments and that is why FIFA made the rule that only 3 players over the age of 23 can play in each squad. This doesn't make the competition less impressive and from watching Olympic football in the past i would say there are alot of excellent matches. For anyone who doesn't know much about the competition it isn't just a bunch of nobodies that fill up the squads. In 1988 Romario was the competitions top goal scorer, in 1996 it was Bebeto and Hernan Crespo, In 2000 it was Ivan Zamorano, 2004 Carlos Tevez, and in the last world cup Giuseppi Rossi. Argentina has won the previous two tournaments with some excellent youth players including Messi, Mascherano, Tevez, Riquelme, Di Maria. Great Britain has won the Olympic football competition the most times with 3 golds. We had a team in the past which was successful, why then for a one off can't we get together just like every other sport does for competitions like this.

New signing(s) to be announced.....
If only we could offer a decent mix of one and two year deals we wouldn't have our entire squad up for grabs come January.

Player Contract Status
Eagle and Stratford may have came with the status of being a 1st Division club but so did Hayes and Cox and they are comfortably competing in the SPL. All i'm saying is his record for signing top 6 players isn't the best. Out of around 20 signings Hayes and Foran are the only ones that stand out for being gems. He's letting players go that are already established at SPL level to bring in players that may play like Stratford, Bulvitis, Sanchez, Odhiambo, Eagle and more importantly Blumstein who was signed to do a job in the SPL and yet failed to deliver big time. I do hope that he does manage to bring in some quality players but to bring in as many as he needs to is certainly going to be hard and i can easily see a few more flops being signed this summer, Tansey and Tade might even be them!

Player Contract Status
I don't think Butchers record for signing players is as good as people make out. I had a wee look at the list of his signings and there are a few flops, most of the signings are very average with a couple gems thrown in. Richie Foran - Excellent signing Johnny Hayes - Excellent signing Kenny Gillet - Injured for most of the season but looks very impressive. Lee Cox - Good solid signing Jonny Tuffey - Excellent backup keeper to have The rest of the players he signed are either shockingly bad or fairly average and could have been replaced by any player really. Chris Hogg - Looked good but was only here for 6 months, i'd liked to have seen him for longer. Dani Sanchez - Average player that didn't even set the first division alight Stuart Golabek - Good first division player for 1 season. Stuart Duff - Average player who will always be seen as a rotational player, top 6 player? i don't think so. Eric Odhiambo - Average signing who helped with rotations. Chris Innes - We really didn't need him Brian Kerr - Rubbish Robert Eagle - Rubbish Daniel Stratford - Rubbish Nauris Bulvitis - Rubbish Gil Blumstein - Rubbish Max Johnson - Didn't even get a chance Then theres the loanings of: Alex Macdonald - We didn't need him Kevin McCann - Far too injury prone and again didn't convince myself he could hold down a regular spot. Aaron Doran - I liked him and would have loved to have seen him for longer. Out of all of those players i'd only ever be screaming to hold onto Foran and Hayes. I rate Cox but i've still always thought Duncan was better. Butcher has signed 7 defenders and apart from Gillet possibly i would say Grant Munro was better than them all and yet he gets punted. Strangely enough i would say our best two players last season were Ryan Esson and Adam Rooney, both Craig Brewsters signings. Terry Butcher has seemed to work well with what he has got but with more players leaving he is making this team his own and i don't think his signing ratio for talented youth players is that excellent. I really hope to be proved wrong this season though and can't wait for the first game against Clach.

usain bolt?
There are many sportsmen out there who were very good at football but chose another sport. Andy Murray had the chance to sign for Rangers. I dont know how good Bolt is but I know he has played in quite a few charity matches so maybe he could eventually play in EPL. Ive heard hes been pretty decent in those charity matches too.

A Caley Thistle masters team?
We can't do that because we'd be rubbish. Need to keep it ICT. If St Mirren etc can manage to field a masters team then i don't understand why we can't.

Player Contract Status
I believe that side would see us relegated. We really need to strengthen up a few areas of that team as you say.

New signing(s) to be announced.....
Lets hope that this is just ignorance of Scottish football. Well he'd look like an idiot saying he's signing for Inverness only for him to sign for Killie the next day.

Golabek signs for Brora
Roy McBain on his way to Formartine apparently, I work for the official Highland League website and my boss, a usually reliable source, has told me he's been strongly linked with Formartine. You mean people actually work for that website. I always thought it was unmanned being as it takes three days to get the weekend results up. Mind you, if your boss is so far behind the times then I can see why the results would be. You must be thinking of our official website. Nothing is more out of date than that.

Positions/Players Needed for Next Season
He was beyond garbage for Falkirk with the majority of their fans delighted that he has been released. One to avoid I think. Excellent for Livingston though, about 10 years ago...

Who is ICT's most underrated player
In terms of ICT youth players i always thought Tony Low was an excellent right winger whenever he played but he was deemed not good enough by John Robertson. Obviously with Tony's recent level of football that shows to be a good decision but i wonder if he stayed on would he have improved.

Who is ICT's most overrated player?
Off topic so I apologise, but does anyone have "SPL goals per game" figures for Niculae and Rooney? Barrowman - 15 starts, 20 sub appearances (+ 3 sub apps for Kilmarnock), 2 goals Rooney - 70 starts, 30 sub appearances, 44 goals Surely Rooney hasn't been around for 100 SPL league matches with us. Would be interesting to see Dargos and Rooneys ICT SPL record. As for most over rated i wouldn't say Barrowman was over rated at all, he came from a 2nd division side and no one on here thought he was excellent. I always took a shining to Xausa whenever he played but always wondered if he was actually that good. He done well when signing for Livingston but soon dissapeared off the face of the planet. John Robertson certainly over rated Darran Thomson in his time and he has to be our worst ever player. This might come as a shock but i always thought David Bingham was massively over rated. Some games he would play terrible and yet still pick up the MOM awards. I did like Bingham but just thought there was a bit too much hype around him at the time.

No Place for Ryan in weakened Scotland Squad
Gilks is younger than Esson and has played 17 games in the best league in the world this season. He has to get in there before Esson. Turner has also played 19 league games in the Championship this season. The only thing keeping Esson out these days is there are younger keepers who have great potential and that is what you always look for in a 3rd choice keeper.

Info for Hamilton Match
I managed to get in with my student card for ?10 earlier in the season and the prices were the exact same then (Under 18s and Over 65s). The guy on the gate seemed to think the discount was for students and for under 16s. I would go along and show your card, chances are you'll get in but if not just come back on here saturday night and have a moan at me.
