I disagree. It looks absolutely clear that there was no contact. Lennon clearly said someting to Juanjo which caused him to turn and respond close to, but there is no jerking of the head and no associated other body movement which might be expected to go with a head butt. Juanjo's reaction and body language followed by the way he turns away from the incident are entirely consistent with a simple verbal response of "don't be so stupid" or words to that effect. Lennon's reaction comes well after any alleged contact. Lennon cheated at the time and he's lying about it now. Lennon does himself no favours by trying to defend one of the more shameful episodes in his career. Celtic have been embarrassed by ICT on too many occasions for his liking and he is simply trying to tarnish the image of the club by way of retaliation. It's pathetic and my simple message to him is

Wow! Is there no end to the inventiveness of those tykes?

Maybe the jury consisted of 12 referees.

Inore him, SotonICT. Rocpool reserve is an upmarket French Restaurant. It's not bad though. One the one occasion I went, there was skirt of beef on offer followed by a clasic tarte au citron. It was the first time in years I'd been out on the town of a Friday night for a bit of skirt and and a tart.

Man Utd have a striker called Berbatov who they don't appear to need. Perhaps Terry could arrange a loan deal to keep his match fitness up?

He would bring a bit of spirit to the side

...and rather more in the stands, I fear.

The youngsters who will be playing are considered good enough to be in squad of an SPL side. If that option was not open to them there would be a queue of Highland League clubs waiting to sign them up. First team players or not, I would expect that whatever side is fielded should beat Forres. No pressure, lads!

There were 18 teams in the old Scottish First Division when Celtic won the European Cup in 67 though you may be referring to the fact that there are only 10 teams in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Shamrock Rovers' turnover is also less than 2% that of the Old Filth which helps to put the scale of the failure of the OF in perspective. Their failure diminshes Scottish Football and we will all suffer the consequences of that. Interestingly Shamrock Rovers' leading scorer is a Scot called Twigg. It seems there is very little incentive for talented young Scots to ply their trade in Scotland these days. Let's hope the national team can restore a bit of pride and give the game the boost it so desparately needs.

All this doom and gloom reminds me of what was being said here early in the season a couple of years ago. Remind me how many points we won the league by that season!

From the inside or the outside?

He's gone. It's a shame. There is no point speculating on the reasons. We move on and he will soon be forgotton.

Bit of a contradiction there? You want to meet someone who is more dedicated than you to supporting a team through thick and thin? How about speaking to someone who has supported the same team all their life? They do exist, you know! Maybe wombles have a different outlook on things to the rest of us.

You need a trial to play for Strathspey Thistle????

If the debatable refereeing decisions that have gone against us had gone for us we could be sitting mid table and everyone would be saying it's a good start with so many new faces and so many injuries. I really think Sutherland should be starting but other than that I'm not worried.

Couldn't agree more. Always looked threatening when I saw him play last season.

?250,000! We could put in a bid for Adam Rooney who looks as though he will be lucky to get a seat on the bench for B'ham reserves when the big name strikers return from injury.

We shouldn't exagerate the problem on the basis of one match. Hearts were tactically naive and giving away early goals made it mission impossible. Rednapp said after the game that it was as good as he has seen his side play. Had Hearts not let Spurs play but got in about them as they did at the start of the 2nd half, it might have been closer. The test will be the return leg. It will be a very different Spurs side and one which there is no way Rednapp would risk against any EPL opposition. A full strength Hearts side should probably beat a largely 2nd string Spurs on the night. Hearts should go down there and take the opportunity to grab what they can. The people of Tottenham would expect nothing less.

Proof if proof were needed that you have some very strange views! And, no, you're not in big trouble. I was 18 once but that was more years ago than I care to remember - although not that many that I can't remember.

Sending off in goal scoring opportunity.
DoofersDad replied to Alex MacLeod's topic in Caley Thistle
There should be a distinction between plain cheating where a defender prevents a player from scoring by simply taking him out when he knows he can't get the ball, and a genuine attempt at getting the ball which takes the player rather than the ball. The distinction is pretty clear in the vast majority of situations. Even if the referee genuinely thought Tokely had fouled Naysmith today he surely would not dispute that Tokely went for the ball. We can feel hard done by with the decision today but these things tend to even out over the course of the season - Celtic will get just as many dubious decisions as Rangers will. -
Please don't stop posting and expressing your views. A forum like this is good to read because people do hold different views and it is good to debate the various issues. There are times when sincerely held views are seen as silly or naive by others and the response is a bit more flippant than you would like and there is some gentle micky taking - hopefully nobody has gone beyond that and been offensive on this thread but that may be a matter of opinion. A forum needs people who are prepared to say what they think and who don't mind when people reply in ways you might not expect. Take Dougal for instance, he has taken more stick than anyone (often unfairly IMHO) but it doesn't stop him making further contributions. To what extent he believes all he writes I neither know nor care. All I know is that this forum would be a poorer place without him. In this case, you are on the receiving end because you have come across as very indignant about something others see as a non issue. I happen to agree that it would be nice if the youngsters wrote a letter but in no way is it bad that they don't. In fact, there is more reason for the youngsters to write a note of thanks to the club for the opportunity they have been given and I wonder how many do that! The club will have helped to make each and every youngster that does not make the grade a better player. What they learn at the club will help them to play at a better standard and enjoy their football more whether it be with a lower league club or just a local Sunday side. I don't think the club has any more obligation to them. I think that is why people felt your earnest sense of injustice was totally OTT and why responses were the way they were. Don't take offence. Keep posting and and give as good as you get. And here's me setting myself up. You probably don't mean a word you say and your real response is summarised by your .

Arrangements for their testimonial match?

Another thought. Shooting the looters and arsonists is a tempting option but I don't think the nation is quite ready to agree to this yet. However, in order to get a bit of target practice in, why can't police marksmen make it a game of paintball and shoot the wee sh*tes with a splodge of indelible fluorescent pink dye. These could be fired from guns where the sight doubles as a camera for gathering evidence. This would serve 3 purposes. Firstly it would allow those with pretty pink splodges on their clothing to be identified as being appropriate for arrest and police could pick them up when safe to do so. Secondly, little toe rags arriving home with pink on their clothing would have some explaining to do. Thirdly, the police have a bloody hard time of it so why not let them have a bit of fun - might even get a pot at Nick Clegg or Boris!
