News Release from Club
I actually wonder if he's been given a final chance, with a specified number of points required from the next game(s) for him to keep his job.

Robbo in charge to face Motherwell?
You are absolutely right, at times it's reminiscent of the Life of Brian.

Brew Plays for ICT
It's our new tactic to reduce the number of goals we concede.

Williamson Resigns from Elgin
No matter how bad things get at ICT, at least we can take comfort in the fact that we are not Elgin.

News Release from Club
One interesting point about this press release - Brewster was actually told his transfer budget last week (he said so in a newspaper interview I read). So it isn't new news as such.

News Release from Club
Well done to the Board for this press release. I don't see how people can complain about them publicly acknowledging the problems and the discontent of fans. Or about making funds available for transfers. Both of these things are GOOD NEWS. The most interesting thing about the release though is what it doesn't say. You know, the bit about "we have every confidence that Craig Brewster has the abilities to lead the team back up the table....."

Thanks Craig Brewster (if you go)
It was decided that if we beat Clach today he keeps his job and gets a 3 year extension. :o

Holiday entitlement
Most people have mobile phones these days. Instructions can be left and authority delegated to another director. Transfer budget is already agreed for January and the Chairman doesn't have much more involvement than that when it comes to signings. Don't see any problem at all with someone having a holiday provided other directors are suitably briefed.

Get Rid Of This Idiot Now!
I've given Brewster every chance, until the last couple of weeks. Enough is enough now. The team in recent weeks has been as shambolic, disorganised and unmotivated as Scotland under Berti. Much of the criticism of him is unjustified, but I think everybody, including the Board, can now be in little doubt that he doesn't have what it takes tactically.

ICT -V- Aberdeen : matchday thread .....
Did I just hear the commentator say that if he was manager he would hook Proctor already?
-
FAO ICT PR Department
And fans stating that if there was no response within the required 7 days they would seek to make life difficult for the club just increased the likelihood of a quick, standard response to everyone.

Zadi Gone or Not (merged)
Not necessarily. By being released, the player benefits from getting a salary elsewhere, and hopes he can get back to playing first team football and improving his long term career prospects. So usually what happens is that a compromise is reached and the player gets less than the remainder of his contract.

Zadi Gone or Not (merged)
If you subscribe to the theory of no smoke without fire, then it may well be that the club have decided they would like to release him but things haven't been sorted out with the player yet.

Barry Wilson (Merged)
Can that sort of discussion be keep for other threads please. This one's for dodgy poetry

Club Nicknames
Apparently Quuens Park became known as the Spiders after the famous Glasgow Cup final of 1928 which they eventually won after 7 replays - ie 8 legs.

Club Nicknames
I've listed below some interesting club nicknames from the lower leagues, and I'd be interested to know how they came about. (Alternatively, feel free to post your own plausible but completely fabricated theories.) Gable Endies Red Lichties Doonhamers Spiders Blue Brazil

Zadi Gone or Not (merged)
Good decision to release Zadi...........but it clears the way for Ritchie Byrne :o

things are looking up
Does this mean Brewster is better than one of the top managers in the land, who just a year ago was favourite for the Scotland job?

Xmas pressies
Brilliant. Who needs a fanzine! Note the text of the comic, half way down : "Brewster Rockit is an unlikely captain. He's woefully illprepared to lead."

It could be worse....

Elgin to Replay Spartans
I see Lochee's tie v Ayr has been postponed 5 times now, but has some way to go to match Inverness Thistle who I think had a tie postponed about 26 times in the 1970's? This was despite all 7 of Thistle's fans doing their best to get the pitch playable.

Elgin to Replay Spartans
Sunday Times actually!

Elgin to Replay Spartans
I read somewhere that Spartans also fielded an ineligible player in the first game v Elgin, but the rematch had already been ordered by the time it was discovered. It was perhaps a minor infringement : I think the situation was that he has previously been a Spartans player, then quit and deregistered due to long term injury, then made a comeback without being properly registered.

SPL think tank
In my mind, John Hughes and "think tank" don't sit comfortably in the same sentence!

How long can the Board hold their nerve?
Crazy dream mate, it's hardly likely that Zander and Ike would be given that level of authority.
