  1. The question of a new manager brings us back to the question as to why Robbo is on Orion's payroll.
  2. If Brewster goes he can take McGuire with him.
  3. If you judge an ICT manager by their record elsewhere, then is Steve Paterson a terrible manager?
  4. No, it just means we are well and truly an SPL club!
  5. Here's a different perspective on the Wyness contract withdrawal. Imagine you are engaged. Shortly before the wedding you decide, for whatever reason, that you don't want to commit to spending years with that person. Your fiancee has done nothing wrong, and everyone will think that you are a heartless git who has ruined her life. The concensus here is that you should be obliged to proceed with a marriage that you don't want and no longer think will work, because you had previously indicated your intention to marry and shouldn't change your mind.
  6. Didn't realise it was Robbie Williamson! Did Rangers ask for their money back?
  7. I have a vague recollection that some time around 1989 Clach sold a player to Rangers, but a week or so later he came back up the road homesick. Is that actually what happened? If so what became of him?
  8. It's a shabby way to treat someone whoever it is, but it is very hard to imagine that there would be much of an outcry from the fans if it was a less popular player like McBain or McAllister who had a contract offer withdrawn.
  9. It's hard to disagree with what he says in that article.
  10. Several people involved, is what I'm trying to say. Just didn't want someone rushing to point the finger at the manager when none of us really know how much involvement he had in the decision.
  11. I think that's generally how it works.........apart from the Niculae signing!
  12. I think you are right, but the SPL rule book is written in pencil!
  13. Brewster involved, DoF in charge, and MD having the final say.......meaning several people would have been involved in the decision that Denzil's alleged act of indiscipline was sufficiently bad for his contract offer to be suspended?
  14. Brewster is not in charge of player contracts.
  15. Legend indeed. But I don't have a problem with Wyness not getting a new contract. He's been playing in the SPL for 5 seasons. In that time he's looked the part for a grand total of about 5 months, spread across two spells of great form. Is that good enough? As for the contract, I'm appalled at what is reported to have happened, but you can only really judge when you've heard the full story, from both sides. But at the end of the day is it not the case that if Denzil had signed his contract by the specified deadline, the club would not have been able to withdraw the offer? Lesson for others.
  16. It's very, very concerning, but let's put a bit of perspective on it. I've been loyal to my current employer for 7 years. But if I told management "a few home truths" I would fully expect to face the unpleasant consequences, even if I was right. Why should it be any different for footballers.......most of whom would bugger off for more money if the opportunity arose? As Dennis did once.
  17. Put aside sentiment and Denzil is no great loss. But it looks like things at the club will get worse before they get better. It's hard to imagine us winning a game before next season.
  18. Been a while since Livingston saw SPL football :003:
  19. Whatever we have offered is the best and only offer his agent has been able to get for him.
  20. I'm just wondering if this case will be dealt with in court or on Jeremy Kyle?
  21. So what should the new ICT car sticker say? Honk if you want a new manager! Don't follow me, I'm going to watch Caley! If you can read this..........then surely you can also see how bad we are at the moment! Please overtake..........I'm as slow as Niculae! And Duncan could get one saying "How's my passing?"
  22. A manager has to be judged on the course of a season, not just a run of bad form......particularly if the bad form has its roots in factors outwith the manager's control. There are quite a few causes for concern, and I really don't know if Brewster is good enough, but just remember this - we lost our first 6 games of the season, and the majority view here at the time was that we'd settle for Brew getting us up to 11th place and giving us another chance in the SPL next season.
