I'm going to be controversial here, because I don't have much sympathy for the referees. Yes they may well have a difficult job, but that doesn't excuse them from being as consistenty terrible as they have been. The mistakes being made by referees, not just in Scotland, but right across England as well have been slowly getting more severe. The consequences of their mistakes are greater because they're getting massive, game-changing decisions wrong. A lot of teams in the country could argue that they would be better off by a few points if referees had been doing their jobs properly. They shouldn't be excluded from abuse and criticism because their jobs are dfficult. Point is, they've been bloody awful these last couple of seasons and are rightly getting the criticism their displays have deserved. And now they've thrown their toys out of their prams because they can't hack it. They're making a big deal of this Respect Campign, but if they want respect from players, fans and management, they have to earn that respect by doing their jobs properly. You can't have respect by default. Treat others as you would want to be treated youself, as my grandfather used to say. Referees don't do their jobs to the best of their abilties, make too many mistakes, are getting too consistent in their incorrect decision making, and are robbing teams of points. That doesn't deserve respect, it deserves criticism. About bloody time too.

He can't ignore him now. He just can't. What on Earth did Shane Long do to warrant a call up to the Norway game last week? Kevin Doyle? And does Robbe Keane still get call-ups? If he does it's on reputation and NOTHING else. Rooney cannot be ignored any longer by Ireland.

If he left for England I'd love to see him at Southampton. We've jut sent Jason Puncheon on loan to Millwall until January 3rd and according to rumours from inside the club it doesn't look like he'll be coming back. Major fallings out apparently. Plus France under-21 captain Morgan Schneiderlin will probably leave the club as well, interest from Chelsea, Fulham and Sunderland. So it looks like we'll need midfield reinforcement in January. Eric has proven himself at SPL level and the level below. He could easily be one of the best players in League One and maybe the Champiionship. First and foremost I'd hope he stays at Inverness though.

This Celtic team is no where near as good as the one we beat 3-1 at Parkhead in 2000. And I'd say our current team is better than the one that came out on top that fateful night. So based on that... We'll probably lose. Nah I think we can get a draw. Winning might be too big an ask but if you offered me a 0-0 before the game I'd snatch your hand off.

Well when I first started taking an interest in Caley's fortunes, Saints were still a relatively big premiership side doing quite well in the top flight, so I guess Southampton would be my answer. Other than facilities, budget and possibly fan base, I'd say Caley are as big as Saints now though. Certainly think if the 2 were to play each other that ICT could win comfortably.

With such a small first team squad we can't afford to let anyone go in January, at least not without bringing in a suitable replacement. The squad may be small but we shouldn't panic buy just to increase squad size. Sanchez will hopefully get a chance this season, but even if not, he is still an adequate bench warmer, as harsh as that sounds, while hopefully still getting off the bench every now and then.

I read somewhere that every SPL team would have poppies on their shirts this weekend. But looking at this picture from the game I can't see a poppy anywhere on Adam's shirt.

With the news that Kevin Doyle is out of the Republic of Ireland's game against Slovakia on tuesday, does anyone think Adam Rooney deserves a call up? Trapattoni has said that he won't call up a replacement, but for future qualifiers, and providing Rooney continues his impressive SPL form, he should definitely be given a chance. And are any of our Irish players even in Trapattoni's thoughts? He must know about Rooney scoring 26 goals last season and he's one of the top scorers in the SPL so far this season, so he is in the public eye somewhat. Hayes has received rave reviews for his performances this season. And now that Foran is back from injury he can hopefully make an impression on the league and get himself in contention for a call up.

You mean in terms of wages? Pretty much the lowest wage budget in the league I would say. But hey, most of us would play for ICT for nowt This echoes my sentiments exactly. If I was a professional footballer who had spent my whole career playing in the Premiership and the Champions League and getting 100+ caps for England and earned millions, I would say, in my 30's, "You know what? I want to play for the club I have supported since I was a lad. I don't care if I have to take a ?70,000 a week pay cut, I want to pull on the shirt of Inverness and play my heart out for them." Which 99% of players these days simply would not do.

Please feel free to throw any rotten fruit you may have in your possession! Of course he wasn't. Well that just makes it an even better argument that he should be considered for the national squad.

The Don seems to have become a bit of a cult favourite at Watford. He's also got the most assists in the Championship so far this season. 8 assists I think. Bit disappointed that Esson didn't get called up after Gilks pulled out. Cammy Bell has hardly done any better than Esson this season to suggest he deserves a call up any more than Esson does. He hasn't done anything wrong that I can think of. Maybe it was the 6-0 vs Celtic that ruined his chances this time around but he couldn't be blamed too much for that.

Only one Celtic player? And only 3 McBoro players?

I'd rather see Esson playing for Scotland than Kenneth, as either keeper or defender. Esson is certainly much closer to international standard then Kenneth is, and he wouldn't be out of place as 3rd choice keeper in the international squad. If he maintains his form of the last 12 months then Levein will notice him. Precisely. I fully expect that he would sit on the bench for any Scotland game right now. He wouldn't displace McGregor, and when Gordon comes back, McGregor will drop to the bench. Gordon is a better keeper and a far better person than McGregor ever will be. Unless there are a whole load of injuries, I don't think Esson will ever get off the bench for Scotland, except maybe in an experimental line-up for a friendly match.

Yup. Doesn't fill me with confidence. It won't be the last time they concede 6 in a game this season. They've had their fairytale start, and now I think they'll take a battering in the Premier League.

With Craig Gordon sidelined until around Christmas/New Year and Levein allegedly planning on calling up Blackpool's Rochdale-born keeper Matt Gilks, does anyone think it would be completely beyond the realms of possibility that Esson could get a call up for any of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign? There are 4 games coming up in the space of a month, and the number 1 keeper is injured. Aside from McGregor, who should be banned for his pathetic attempt to get Riordan sent off yesterday anyway, who else is there? David Marshall? Iain Turner? Neil Alexander? I would argue that Esson is as good as, if not better than some or all of them. He pulled off some great saves against Celtic last week and although he could have sat down to a 3-course meal in the goalmouth against the Arabs yesterday, he still came to the rescue when needed. We turned heads yesterday, and people will have taken note. Esson, and one or two others, could, and should, be on Levein's radar this season, especially as we're now back in the SPL.

Huzzah! Only took them an hour.

Was just about to complain about the same thing. I've refreshed the page non stop for the last half an hour. Nowt. What are they playing at? Bloody typical, the one game from today I actually give a s**t about and it's the only one they haven't bloody put up yet!

I might be interested in this. I write occasionally, when I can remember my Blogger password. And I wrote match reports for my college football team in the college newsletter as well as being the midfield maestro in the team. I won't be around for the Celtic game as I'm off camping in Somerset for a week and a bit. Having said that, the campsite does have wifi so I may be able to get internet connection if I took my laptop.

Oo, and back on topic, my local JJB in Southampton do shirt printing, they have different styles of numbers and letters. They should print my ICT shirt for me. They did the Sunderland shirt I got my dad for his 50th last year because it was cheaper than the Sunderland website.

Do Zoo not sell ICT merchandise anymore? I got the previous home kit in there last January. When I was in there trying it on Jamie Duff walked up alongside me, said hello, and bought an ICT pen.
