  1. Very much so. I was critical of him when he was first signed because I thought we paid over much for him but he was superb for us and was the driving force behind our good run last season and then he was sold after being faffed about by the club. Some of his corners might not have been great but he was one of the best crossers in our team (when it got past the first man :thumb04: ) I agree 101%. And I thought he and Cowie worked really well together. I was just deliberately ignoring the Niculae part of IHE's pic. ;-)
  2. So you're agreeing with RiG that it's Rankin we're missing
  3. Didn't think we played *that* badly today and we did on occasion look as if we might score. Imrie I thought was fine, at least he put the effort in. More than could be said for Barrowman, who no-one would have missed if he'd left the park and we'd played with ten men. The new Niculae, I think, except Marius never said he couldn't score because the rest of team were crap. Bad display from Tokely today as well. After Falkirk I thought CB might have finally sussed subs, but nope back to normal bizarre decisions today. Great crowd today though, hope we were audible on the telly.

    At it again !

Actually, it's got worse over the years. Once upon a time (well, a couple of seasons ago ) people would sing for the majority of the game. Doesn't help when young kids take horns to generate a bit of noise and have them confiscated by the Gestapo.
  7. 3,501 according to the BBC With six St Mirren fans by the look of it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/s...rem/7611545.stm
  8. Falkirk don't either. The only reason to build a fourth stand would be if it generated money from non-football events. It's shocking to see how empty TCS is so early in the season.

Maybe not, I have discovered this from Tesco Direct. If you use the points as "Deals" they're worth ?40, so net cost is only ?35. I've just bought one. You get 4 months of free channels and as long as you cancel it during this time giving them a months notice, you get to keep the dish and box giving you all the Freesat channels. That sounds very impressive. Will you let me know how you get on with installation etc?
  10. Is this a hint of what's to come?

From me: From the BBC: So no need to pay a subscription, I just need to pay a fortune for hardware. That's okay then
  12. Yup, that must have been a sensational performance against the Faroes last night.

That explains why I didn't get the reference I don't object so much to the tourist fans, I've gone to see clubs I don't support myself because I wanted to watch a game, but I think once you're in someone else's environment you need to respect their rules. If you don't want to be surrounded by people swearing and shouting abuse, go and watch the Singing Kettle instead. I personally don't get people going to matches and not getting emotionally involved anyway. Why would you bother?
  15. It's just unfortunate that the new hospitality suite takes up most of the pitch.
  16. I'm sorry Broomie, but the number of wrong apostrophes here has totally distracted me from the subject in hand (so to speak...)

There's a lot of truth there, but I do take issue with "Those long standing supporters have now all but disappeared, replaced by families from all over, decked out in official replica sportswear and taking pictures of anything that moves." What's the problem with families attending games? Surely the more kids bitten by the bug at an early age the better? And what's wrong with replica kits? They show support, they give income to the clubs. I agree the authorities are trying to destroy the experience of watching the game, but to slate other supporters (whom he obviously doesn't see as proper fans like himself) seems a bit disingenious.
  19. F*rt, I would gone to see Nairn County but I'll be away.

Even a fan-written ticker would be good. Other clubs seem to be able to operate these from live games but I don't know how they work. But a ticker with "Cowie scores!!!!! Ya little beauty!!!!!" would be far more entertaining than the Sporting Life version of "No team can take control of the game. Key player: Michael Fraser".

"The channel will be available on satellite and cable throughout the UK, with content also available online." But no Freeview until the digital switchover. That is crap. We all pay the sodding licence fee and we can't watch their programmes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotlan...nds/7556739.stm
