  1. Is OFW still playing with his injury? That could explain his apparent lapses. I read a report that said Meekings, Draper, Fisher, King and Mulraney were injured. Along with Raven, McNaughton and Horner that makes 8 first team squad members out. Worrying for the league campaign. I could not be there today but just relieved we are through. Sounds like Cole way e key man and hopefully the win inspires us to turn things round in the league. Three big games ahead, hopefully at least seven points!
  2. The banter in the build up is great, hope the game gives us the encouragement for the rest of the season. I can't be there due to a family birthday, but will be watching the BBC text service discretely. Having seen the comments about Anier, I am hopeful he will be a good acquisition. Doubt he will start on Saturday, and I still think we need a defender. With wing backs, three at the back may be what we need. My team: Fon Williams Mckay, Warren, Meekings, Tremarco Draper, Tansey Doran, Polworth, Cole Fisher but we will see!
  3. And there will be a fixture pile up for the split!
  4. We took 21 points from our last 17 games last season. If we do the same this season, will 37 get us up to10th or better?
  5. Unfortunately our record in recent times against Patrick Thistle is pretty dismal!
  6. And let's hope Doran starts tomorrow!
  7. Having watched the highlights attached to OCGs report, Fon Williams had no chance at the first goal, it was all down to the wind. For the second, Warren slipped early in the build up, which probably helped create the space. Cole slipped a few times in the same area, so the pitch possibly had issues too. On another night, with luck going our way (and a better ref) it would have been a comfortable win. More than ever, we need to get behind the Manage and players, as we are still in touch with the pack despite a rotten run. We must be confident things start to fall more in our favour, but let's keep backing the guys, no matter how tough they make it for us!
  8. For what it's worth on a disappointing night, I went with: Doran Mckay Vigurs
  9. I felt the game was there for the taking until the first goal. From where I was sitting, I could see it was net bound, so assume Fon Williams lost the flight of the ball in the wind. Unlike some, I thought Vigurs did as well as anyone, although I would have picked Doran or Mckay if I was picking the man of the match. The long ball tactic has been seriously rumbled by defenders, so I feel we need to mix it up a bit. Doran was lively when he came on, and hopefully starts on Saturday, with Polworth in a more central role playing off the striker. I cannot manage the County game as on family duties, but hope we have a loud travelling support and get a repeat of last year's 3-0 win!
  10. According to the BBC, the last five games between the teams have been away wins: time to break that run! Hopefully we have a good crowd tonight and support the players regardless of how the game pans out. It is time for our third home league win!
  11. I agree, he could be useful in that role.
  12. We have to be positive, and transfer that thinking to the players too. We are good enough to stay up.
  13. Oh dear, bottom after tonight's games. Dundee winning not helpful. Unless we win tomorrow, we are in bottom two for Christmas, but at least still in touch with the pack. A win gets us to 9th unless Hamilton beat Celtic. Hopefully the guys get something tomorrow, then we have two big games before the break that should both be winnable!
  14. Thanks for the feedback from the game. Sportscene indicated Killie should have had a penalty (perhaps luck evening itself out after last week?) and Meekings made a couple of great clearances. I remain confident we are good enough to climb the table and ensure safety.
  15. Is that the same Ryan Williams we had for the second half of last season who is now a regular on the bench at Barnsley?
  16. Agreed, I will take that point after seeing three subs on early due to injuries and being one down. A tough one next week in Glasgow, but hopefully we get something and get a good turn out against Motherwell to encourage he team on to win the last home game of the year. Then hopefully we go to Dingwall and turn County over! Great to see Polworth back, but what is the story with Doran: is he one of the walking wounded?
  17. I know, i-pad auto spell check again! sometimes results in McKay instead of Mckay too if I don't check it before posting!
  18. My choice was: Cole Mckay Horner Mckay for a good shift when injured, Horner for withstanding Accies having an early go at him and then being positive, but Cole my mom by a mile, and I hope his goal and performance does him and us a lot of good for the rest of the season. I feel a lot happier after today, here's for turning Killie over next week!
  19. Good luck Scotty! Rooting for your team!
  20. For those not able to be there, a much better showing and I found the game enjoyable and entertaining. We could, and perhaps should, have won, with a clear penalty denied and a few good chances missed. Equally, Hamilton were quick on the break and could feel they could have won too. I did not see the Hamilton goal clearly, so can't comment on Fon Williams, but I felt he was not fully fit. Hamilton targeted Horner initially, but I felt he did fine and pushed forward effectively a few times. Tremarco quieter than sometimes but also had a couple of chances. Mckay did well, particularly as playing through an injury, whilst Meekings played on after a heavy knock, which is probably why he stayed back all second half. Tansey and Draper were solid enough in front if the defence, and protected the "walking wounded". I cannot criticise Vigurs today, whilst Cole could turn out to be a find if we can keep hold of him. His goal gave him confidence and he was a real livewire: my man of the match. Mulraney's pace was troubling Hamilton, but he sometimes lacks judgement and keeps the ball too long. Doumbouya was his normal self, and held the ball better than sometimes. Is Doran struggling? Surprised he did not come off the bench. The ref was poor again. An encouraging afternoon, only lacking a winning goal. And at risk of being controversial, the flares, by both sets of fans, were unnecessary.
  21. I agree, this is the time the players need our support. Even if we get off to a bad start or, worse, we don't get a result, we need to show our backing and help them through a difficult period.
  22. If they are both out, Horner will be free from suspension so presumably will be right back, with Meekings and Draper in the centre. Why was Tremarco subbed? Hopefully not an injury. Is young Gilchrist a left back? If so, Tremarco could be alongside Meekings freeing Draper for midfield. Sounds like we were very poor today. Hopefully we regroup and get a result next week. Our last point was over a month ago! Dare I say if after being shot down last time I did, but next week does look like a "must win".
