I was brought up playing shinty in the Fort William area and still keep an eye on the results for Fort William and Kilmallie and, dare I say it, Fort William's football scores. Anything better than 9-0 is currently a good result! But if I was commenting on our games, I would want to know what I'm talking about. I'm sure she will grow into the role.

Based on taping Sportscene and watching it once home, I'm not impressed with the BBC reporter covering games in the Highlands this season. Minimal comments and does not really give a flavour of how the games are going.

I agree with the comments above. We bossed the first half, but didn't manage to take any chances, Second more even, but County finished stronger. Both teams will feel they could have won, so a draw probably fair. Polworth was my man of the match. Welsh did a real shift in midfield and Ridgers kept everything out. I agree, Calder for Doran after 75 would have made sense, but we never saw Calder warming up so perhaps not fully fit? Ridgers was his reliable self. The defence was solid in the main. Chalmers and Welsh looking increasingly good as our holding players. Polworth was the stand out, with Doran and Walsh both contributing. With more composure, Walsh could have won it for us in the second half. White worked hard and was a menace, A win would have been great but I'd have taken a draw before kick off, so reasonably happy and I enjoyed the game. Of our former players, I had forgotten Cowie was playing until he was subbed, Draper did little and should have been booked first half. Mckay was well handled by big Coll despite the early. Galen get which left Coll limping. Vigurs addd quality when he came on, but injuring Polly was unforgivable. The biggest surprise? Collum's performance! Very sensible refereeing keeping cards in his pocket as long as he could given how wet the pitch was. What's happened to Austin? Injured or out of favour?

Definitely. Looking forward to this one. Our away form has been good. Let's keep it up!

Looking forward to the reports from those there. Reading the short piece in the Courier website, it sounds like Doran was very influential today, and a great finish by Polworth, whilst Ridgers and Rooney mentioned for preventing goals being lost. A very encouraging result and hopefully we start to win at home, starting against Partick in a fortnight, then..... roll on Dingwall! Hopefully we are seeing the Doran we know and love again, and great to see Polly on the scoresheet. Let's get behind him on the 15th!

Surprised to see Cammy Mackay go on loan to Rothes until January. I thought he would be our regular back up for Ridgers. Is Hoban seen as a better prospect now?

Ridgers had a shaky start last season but grew into one of our most consistent players and one I have confidence in. He is a good stop stopper and can kick long and generally accurately. And he's my wife's favourite after he served her when helping out in the shop one day last season when she was getting a present for my brother in law's birthday .... only she did not know who he was at the time (she knew he was Mark as the others in the office called him that and he was in training gear) and she didn't get the voucher autographed!

A depressing read! I missed the game due to a family bereavement, so was keeping an eye on the BBC app for updates. All appeared to be going well with us seeming to have found a penalty kick taker (an unlikely one at that), until the late equaliser and then reading on here we had also missed a penalty. We should be clear at the top on 9 points, but we are not. We have potential but are not delivering, so things must change. We are at our best moving the ball quickly, but we rarely do so. In my opinion, we need to start with two wide players, and have attacking options in midfield to support a lone striker. My starting XI at Dunfermline would be a 4-2-3-1: Ridgers Mckay Donaldson McCart Tremarco Welsh Polworth Walsh Doran Calder Oakley Personally, I think Polworth has done better when in central midfield, so he and Welsh could become part of our backbone, with Polly pushing up when able to. Calder deserves a start, and whilst Walsh is naturally left sided, he can do a decent turn on the right, and that is where we are weakest just now. Doran can do a shift supporting the striker for an hour or so, then give way to whichever sub is the best option depending on how the game is going. Up front, Oakley has the best work rate. What is going on with Austin? After his early promise at times last season, he seems to be failing to repeat that. Is he struggling for fitness? What has happened to Elbouzedi? He has not featured forweeks. Any word on Beith's fitness?

I've now listened to the interview, and quite surprised. How will it make Hoban and Mackay feel? I thought Calder did well, particularly in the second half.

Been away since early Wednesday so not caught up with the highlights or interview yet. For me, I could clearly see the foul for the penalty was outside the box, but we gave the ball away cheaply for both goals. After Walsh and Oakley came on, we had a very good spell, moving the ball quickly, using the width, making crosses. If we can build on that, things can improve. Calder and Walsh were our stand outs. Polworth and Welsh as our central midfielders would work for me, with Walsh and Calder giving width. Then either two up top, or one with Doran in the hole. I'd stick with two but task Oakley with tracking back. I agree we are not seeing the best of Doran yet. It may be a confidence thing which game time will help. Dunfermline were wasting time and playing for penalties and did very little in the last 30 until we gifted them the late chance that did for us. Very disappointing, and we really should have won. That's two in a row we've failed to put away when on top. We must cure that quickly to stay in the hunt in the league.

I didn't hear the chants but I hope the culprits are identified and dealt with. I've moved seat this season, and the guy next to me was critical of Polly and big Coll all game, but his pal was standing up for them. If he keeps that up, I will need to moved seat again, as they are probably our two best players along with Ridgers. Polly is a confidence player, so I hope we all get behind him on Tuesday and let him know we appreciate his contribution. But we do need to find a decent penalty taker! Would it have been Doran taking it had he been on the pitch? Or what about Chalmers with his left?

Just watched the goals from our under 18s thrashing Partick Thistle 7-2. After last season's league win at under 17 level, we look to have a great crop coming through. As a small club, that's what we need, so credit to the coaches. Let's hope they continue to develop and be one the backbone of a successful future squad.

Tragic, but very pleasing that all fans observed an impeccable minutes silence today.

I'm quite shocked by some of the comments I've just read. I sit in the main stand, and was oblivious to the chants against Polly's sister: such behaviour is disgraceful. I know he can "blow hot and cold" but I do believe he cares, and such chants will drive him out of the club. Yes, he missed the penalty, and it was a poor one, but he's not the first and won't be the last. I thought he was trying hard in the second half, looking for the ball and trying to pick out passes. Yes, some did not come off, but as others have said before, he has vision that some of our team don't have. He is a confidence player, as someone has said earlier in this thread, and some fans have shattered that today. His tweet is out of frustration, and I don't blame him for making it. To the game, we had a clean sheet, with some squeaky moments, and were by far the better team. We should have been three up by half time, with Austin missing two very good chances. Ridgers did what was asked of him. Rooney tried to push forward, to mixed effect, but could turn into an asset. Tremarco was my pick, as we were most potent down the left. Mckay and Donaldson kept Shankland out, with big Coll nearly sneaking one towards the end. I actually thought Trafford and Chalmers did ok, but need to move the ball quicker and be more positive with forward passes. Walsh had a mixed day, but has potential. I've said enough about Polly above. Austin was out of sorts, whilst Oakley was committed but didn't really get any chances. I think Doran will start on Tuesday in the cup, and I'd give young Mackay a start too. Compared to last season, this is a better start, but work in progress. With better finishing, today it would and should have been a comfortable three points, but at least we didn't concede. I am as disappointed as any, but there has been a lot of over reaction in some posts.

Just watched the highlights. Hard to see why the Falkirk "goal" was disallowed but we seemed to create more. When we move it quickly we look good. Mackay' quick free kick late on us a good example, leading to the good chance for Polworth. Good to start with a win!

Looking at today's results and teams, is Calum Ferguson away from Elgin? Craig Beattie came off the bench for them: is he the first Scottish international player to play for Elgin? Seemingly he is a defender nowadays.

It will be interesting to see if any more youngsters make the 18 some weeks. With today's 18, only Cammy Mackay, Beith and Elbouzedi were missing from what is really our main squad. Mackay will presumably replace Hoban on the bench once fit, so only two injuries or suspensions will create spaces for the youngsters. Brown and Harper have had a taste, but hopefully we have other gems waiting to make a breakthrough.

I look forward to the match report, particularly views on the disallowed Falkirk goal which sounded controversial. The BBC said we just about deserved to win the match, and Austin should have nabbed a second. Great to start with a win, and a "top of the table" game beckons next Saturday! I hope we get a decent home crowd. I assume Doran sat it out due to it being a plastic pitch (?), but sounds like Walsh is turning into a great signing. Roll on next Saturday!!
