  1. Trying to get back on topic, Gary has been a great player for the club over six seasons. He was unlucky to miss two finals, but always a great inspiration, even when just a sub. As I said before, I'm not surprised the club has made this proposal, but I think they are trying to treat him right: stating he remains captain whilst he is here is a big statement. On the argument about the leadership off the park, I am not well placed to comment. The previous regime got us to two finals, win the Scottish Cup which will never be forgotten, achieved several top six finishes, got us into Europe, , appointed a rookie Manager, paid wages that were not sustainable if we got relegated and....we got relegated. The current regime has to steady the ship and balance the books, to give a foundation for growth. Yes, it means tough decisions, some we will agree with and some we won't, but it I see too early to pass judgement. This is a key season for us and we will understand the ambitions of the Board better,
  2. I'm not surprised about this. Warren must be the last of the relegated squad still on premiership conditions. The comments from Robbo seem very fair to me. Nothing will happen unless he comes up with a club that works for him. It sounds very different from the treatment of Raven and Fon Williams, and the club is trying to be fair.
  3. I see Draper has signed on for another year at County. Wonder how he and Vigurs will fare in the same midfield after how it went in our relegation season.
  4. So now we know, four new teams in next year's league, with Partick Thistle joining County, Ayr and Alloa. We are hopefully in good shape to get off to a fast start, as realistically eight teams will feel they are in contention to win the league: us, Partick, County, Dundee United, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Morton and Queen of the South. On top of that, Ayr or Alloa could surprise some of those teams too. It looks like it should be a competitive, interesting season. I can't wait!
  5. My 6 year old grandson lives in Nairn and is already excited about this, as he was at the Brechin Betfred Cup game last pre season and loved it. He can't go to Saturday games in school terms due to sports commitments so this is ideal to keep him interested in Caley Thistle.

    Season Ticket

That's me signed up again. Moved seat and area as my brother in law has bought his first one. Last season he used mine when I could not go, mainly all the midweek games. Roll on the new season, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic!

    Confirmed

Disappointed to see Vigurs leave, as he was our best player this season. Yes, he talked or fouled himself into trouble at times, but a lot of the stick he took from fans was undeserved and he became a marked man by some opponents and referees (possibly his own fault). Despite where he is going, he goes with my best wishes. Looking forward, I hope we retain Polworth, and agree that Trafford will become a key player for us. It is good to have three new players in by mid May, so we will hopefully kick off in July with a squad who have blended and we hit the ground running when the league starts, hopefully having secured qualification in the Betfred Cup by then. I still feel positive at our potential for next season and am looking forward to it starting. I am going to renew my season ticket on Friday.
  8. Great to see them win the league and get promoted!
  9. Sorry Caley Stan, as he had just made his debut for Cyprus I assumed he was Cypriot. If Wikipedia can be trusted, his mother is Cypriot, he holds both passports and chose to represent Cyprus. I see he was only a sub in the play off tonight.
  10. Except he's Cypriot, but GMT (Greek maybe time) applies there too!
  11. Agreed!!
  12. Just reading the recent comments on the Robbo thread, so felt we need a positive alternative title!!! I'm sure he will stay, hopefully on a longer deal than he is on just now.
  13. So near yet so far. We never believed we could win eight on the spin, but we came so close to doing so. No play offs, but in the last two months, we have been the form team, so hopefully we push on and start the new season well. Hopefully we know who are staying and who are going soon, so any gaps can be plugged. The strategy seems rightly be to look for young, hopefully up and coming players. A few more like Donaldson and Austin will do nicely. A worry about midfield if we lose Vigurs and / or Polly, but Trafford has done well recently and I think there is more to come from Chalmers and Calder has been positive when playing wide midfield. I don't know much about Rooney or Blair, but hopefully they will be useful additions. Realistically we are not ready to go up, much as I would have loved us to, so perhaps signing off on a 12 game unbeaten run is the best outcome. Well done to Robbo for turning things round, and delivering most of what he promised, and well done to the players, particularly with the cup win and the recent run. Roll on the Betfred Cup and the first league game on 4 August. We may even have derbies to look forward to.....
  14. I really hope your bet is a winner!!
  15. It has taken a twist, as St Boswells not fulfilling tomorrow's game. If I understood the BBC radio report (not by you Charles) correctly, they will be asked if they can fulfil it before the season ends. That seems unlikely as they have apparently failed to fulfil other recent games. The outcome will either be that the game is awarded to Highland, who then win the league. Or St Boswells are kicked out of the league and all their games are removed from the records. I believe that will also mean Highland win the league. The Manager was extremely cheesed off in his interview about not being able to win the game and league on the pitch tomorrow,
  16. And nice to hear his account of his cup winning goal!
  17. I did say win or draw... a draw is 2 points.
  18. Well done guys coming back after Saturday's late equaliser. Just a pity Dumbarton are unlikely to do us a good turn. Two months ago who would have predicted an 11 game unbeaten run, cup win and 24 points out of 30 in the league. Just a great shame our slow start and the bad run with the sendings off have done for us, we should have been comfortably in the play offs. At least there is hope for next season. Hopefully we hit form before March next time.... I will definitely be renewing my season ticket.
  19. Surprised Austin not starting. Still carrying a knock so only on bench?
  20. Another win, so will either finish first or second. One point off the top with one game to play, with the current leaders having completed all their games. So a win or draw against St Boswelks next week will see Highland win the league.
  21. I agree. Pity about our slow start to the season, but the last 10 games show what we could have achieved! That late goal gutted me!
  22. Just looking at the last five games, we've taken 15 points and they have taken 13, so the two form teams,
  23. Well done guys! A big game on Saturday now and if we get a result, we need to beat two teams away that we have not beaten yet! A tall order, but at least we have hope for the future. When did we last win 5 league games on the spin? 20 points out of 24, shows how poorly our start cost us!!
  24. You spotted my typo before I could correct it. Lol.... Blxxdy iPhone spellchecker!!
  25. Tremarco on for Doran.
