  1. Good to have Moog back! If we win by 4 goals on Friday you will be right, at least until Queens Park play on Saturday.
  2. I agree but we do still need to be more consistent than we have been. If we get a result on Friday, my confidence will grow significantly.
  3. Three away wins on the spin! Partick battered Morton today so Friday will be tough, but we want revenge on them! Well done to the players today. If we rode our luck in the first half, they got the job done after the break. Harper with the winner again!
  4. Somerset Park is often windy. I just hope the stats reflect Ayr having the wind behind them and we can capitalise on it after the break.
  5. I’m The bookies don’t fancy us this week! Elgin @ 2.25 please.
  6. HT 1-1 FT 1-2 ICT Billy Mckay Ayr Akinyemi Crowd 1987
  7. Well done to Clarke and his squad. 7 points from 3 difficult games. A group win, promotion to the top tier, a place with the second seeds for the Euro draw, and a Euro play off spot if we don’t qualify automatically. A good job well done, and a bit of a tonic in these troubled times. I know we will struggle in Pool A next time round, but it’s good to get there, particularly with the Auld Enemy getting relegated to Pool B.
  8. It’s seen better days! Not sure if its a Commer or an Austin, quite possibly neither. Where did you come across it?
  9. A second half turnaround, with Ryan Christie getting the winner from the spot, leaves us top of the group. Can we get at least the point we need against Ukraine on Tuesday? I think we can, although we’ve lost McTominay to suspension and may have some injury doubts. If we can win the group, we get promoted to the A groups as England go down to the B groups, and also get a second chance at qualification for the next Euros if we can’t do it through the group stage. Just a pity the game will only be shown on Premier Sports.
  10. Why was one of our young subs (Strachan or Bray) booked at a Brechin corner? Was it for kicking the ball back on to the park given they were warming up behind the goal at the time? Seemed a bit petty to me.
  11. Michael Gardyne for Montrose, Alex Fisher for Yeovil and Andy MacRae for Brora today. And tonight, Ryan Christie from the spot for Scotland.
  12. That was a tough watch. The early goal should have been a platform to build a comfortable win, but I think some players thought we’d already won, and we let Brechin back in it. McHattie’s finish was class to make it 1-1 then poor defending gifted us a half time lead we didn’t deserve. The early penalty in the second half should have made it game over, but again we let Brechin back in it, and we can’t grudge them the 3-3, and at times they looked the more likely to win in normal time. MacKay made a decent save in the penalty shoot out, whilst both teams hit the bar (Oakley our culprit) and the ‘keeper nearly saved Allardice’s weak effort. I also grimaced when Deas stepped up for the last kick but it was an excellent penalty. Hyde’s confidence has gone, presumably due to the Partick game, whilst Calum Mackay worked hard but needs to bulk up as too often he was easily knocked off the ball. However, he was trying to be positive and should be one for the future. I will need to think before I vote in the MOM. Oakley for two goals and an assist, but hard to justify points for the others. I thought McHattie was the best player on the park. I don’t think he misplaced a pass, he defended with his usual calmness, and scored the best goal of the game. It is a pity he was injury prone when here as I think he would be an asset to us. I am struggling with our home performances this season as we’ve only looked good in the first half against Cove. Yet we’ve had two good away wins, so we are capable, but we have no consistency. Something is not right but I can’t put my finger on it, but hopefully we go to Ayr and win next week. At least we didn’t suffer the humiliation of defeat today.
  13. Looks like Harper and Hyde are the central midfield pairing, with Shaw and young Mackay in wide roles and Doran supporting Oakley. Will be interesting to see Ram for the first time (I didn’t make it to Kelty and forgot that was when he got injured).
  14. This game doesn’t seem to be causing much interest! I’m looking forward to it given it is a break from the league and a chance to see a team I’ve not seen since their dismal season in the Championship, and how two of our former players play. In theory it should be a comfortable win, but Brechin are on a long winning run in the Highland League and probably title favourites this season. With us likely to play players who have not had much game time, it could be closer than we think. Time will tell! It sounds like we may see Ram playing for the first time in a competitive match too.
  15. England relegated to group B tonight so if, and it’s a very big if, we avoid defeat in our last two games we will be in a higher grouping than the Auld Enemy. Even if we fail, we could face them in the next Nations League tournament. How the mighty have fallen.
  16. Two can be viewed but the rest are now accommodation that can be booked. Would be a different holiday experience.
  17. Bit surprised at this one but our game with Morton in Greenock on 29 October will be televised and is now a 1945 kick off on 28 October.
  18. Again, I suspect this will be easy for the experts on here:
  19. Remember it’s now a 1400 kick off Gringo. HT 1-0 FT 3-0
  20. Langass Burial Chamber and the nearby Standing Stones that predate Callanish.
  21. Didn’t see that coming! Pity we didn’t play like that when we lost in June but we are in with a chance in this group, which looked unlikely when the Irish battered us. A win on Saturday is needed then if we avoid defeat in Krakow we are in the play offs. I enjoyed that tonight. Well done to Clarke and the team (and maybe stick with 4 2 3 1!!).
  22. These are just over the hill. It was hard to get the full effect in a photo unfortunately given the ground conditions at the time (ie I didn’t want to wreck my trainers!):
  23. Sadly it is unsafe now so you can’t enter it. We bumped into a local who is involved in efforts to get funding from Historic Scotland (?) to restore it. It would be a shame if it is allowed to simply fall down totally over time.
