JJ has done wonders at Killie, maybe they want Bobby Williamson back MP had a hard job of emulating the great footie of Tony Mowbray and cup success of JC Jimmy Calderwood has to deal with a 20 year old legacy of arguably the greatest manager of the last 30 years. Craig Brewster, well Robbo won us the league, Christie is a Legend, and Paterson was the master of the total attack football whereas Brewster has jumped ship once for greener grass and has no real attachment to the club. Gus M is a scumbag in charge of scum bags. Nothing wrong there. How anyone could call for Yogi's head after how he has the club running? Billy Reid has a really hard job keepin his team up but if he's under the cosh i'd like to think accies fan realise how far he's brought them. Lazlo has a cool name and not to forget the odd regime he works under Motherwell's mark maghee has turned Well from relegation candidates to a nice football team. The OF two get horror stick too. Uefa cup finals, cup wins and a treble on the other side clearly not enough. Is Levein the only safe manager?

I think the only teams who could probably be guaranteed safety outside the OF are Dundee Utd and the Edinburgh two. Possibly Aberdeen too. The rest are are clubs of fairly equal stature and quality with fairly even budgets. Hamilton have the disadvantage of no top flight experence to draw on. Brewsters signings always seem good. As a club, we rarely make poor signings. Liam Fox perhaps but most do a good job. Brewster has brought into the team, players like Vigurs, Duff and Wood and gave Black his 1st real run in the team when he 1st got the job. The main problem is we lack the flair of old. This infuriates the fans who want the attacking passing game. Our team is a workmanlike team at times. And then Craig pee's people off with what seems to be unexplicable subs and weird wide play. If it worked he'd be a genious. Sadly it often doesnt.

Duff. At 6'2 he's got the height but he's quite the thin guy and whilst he may lose a touch of pace, working on his upper body strength could lead him to being a more commanding figure. At 5'11" 11st is around average but a few pounds of muscle on the 12'6" frame of Duff would do no harm. And given his youth now is the perfect time.

Playing a 4-5-1 at home is fine as long as you have enough attacking support from the midfield. Thats why i'd play Black Vigur and Cowie. Imrie on the left, Proctor right which allows Tokely to get forward and get crosses in whilst being covered by someone who can defend naturally. Cowie should be allowed to roam from wide right attacking mid to just behind the forward to compacting the middle when needs be. Allow Black and Vigurs to pull the midfield strings and get Imrie up the left at any opportunity to support the striker. Play McBain as Hastings is not impressing. Play Rooney as he is a more potent threat than Wood.

DalneighCaley Yes of course the parents have had the most unthinkable event happen in their lives and its something no one should have to burden, but he will have to live with the fact his thoughtlessness and stupidity killed two children. 7 years inside will never make up for what his actions have lead to. I dont think you have to be a parent to understand that. Secondly the media never report things as they see it They latch on to anything and attempt to make a scandal out of it. Your average tabloid journo is a blood sucking leech of an a thing nowhere near human. When you look at the recent BBC scandals. Who would have cared had the newspapers not went on a witch hunt? 2 people complained after the show. The rest of the listeners were regulars who knew what to expect and, whilst probably realising it was a touch OTT, didnt really care. The player Norris probably feels guilty himself. From what I hear it was his wedding Mcormick was driving from. He was probably trying to show to everyone support for his mate who he feels has to live with the consequences of his actions. He could have went about it in another way entirely though and as i said earlier called him. He didnt, but its hardly a disrepute case or sick or outrageous. Just misguided and not well thought through.

anyone else think it was a soft penalty?

- Esson - Tokely - Duff - Munro - McBain/Hastings Proctor - Black - Vigurs - Imrie - Cowie - -Rooney- Subs Fraser Maguire Wilson (on 72min IF 0-0 or worse for Proctor) Duncan (on last 10 IF 2-0 up for Cowie/Vigurs) Barrowman (On last 15-20 IF losing for midfielder) Wood Z Sutherland (on if cruising 3-0 +)* *unlikely Can i have the job now please?

Fact is you found it harder to cross, regardless of level, you will still find it more challenging to do something that doesnt come naturally to you. With top quality players Im sure the idea works a treat. Especially when the top players can use their weaker foot with as much effect as most use their best peg. And cutting in allows the full back to overlap, whilst dragging the defending full back in with the wide man. Most teams thought tend to line up even at the top level, with lefty's on the left and rights on the right with temporary interchange.

The lads did well yesterday so credit where its due - Well Done. It doesnt stop the fact that Brewster has made some bewildering decisions in his time and results in general of late have been pretty poor. I was backing Brew for a fair while. Given his limited resources it's not an easy job but he doesnt always make it easy for himself with odd tactical decisions. Hope thats them ended the rot but the jury is still out IMHO

I can understand him wanting to show support for his mate who's in the nick for the next 7 years, but surely a phone call would suffice. Should have thought about it but he's a footie player and most aint too bright.

Vale of Leithen as i know someone who pkays for them. But fairly morbid even for a hypothetical question.
-
Duff offers a bit of height and physical presence which proctor ( a full back) cant. He's pretty quick for a taller lad too. Duff and Munro. Give a year or two in the weight room and get Duff to bulk up the upper body strength and he'd be all the better for it.
-
Is that before or after he goes to the ?1 store to get more bling?
-
Baffling? I think it was the wrong decision, but its hardly baffling to put Proctor, a versatile and experienced defender, over a player that would be making only his 5th SPL start at arguably the most difficult venue in the entire calender. If Duff had had a stinker rather then Proctor, Brewster would be tactically inept for playing a 20 year old in his first full season of competetive football at centre back. I wouldnt critisise the manager for playing a rookie if he was fit and playing fairly well previously. The only way to learn is by going to Ibrox and Parkhead and come out of it. After all your oly as good as your last performance. I AM critisising the manager for playing a half fit player with no real pre season under his belt in a position which is not his best against quality opposition. Proctor is a good right back and i can see him replacing Tokely in the long term but he had a shocker. Had he been fully fit and playing in his best position he'd deserve flak but in this case it's the managment who must carry the can for a tactical high risk gamble which clearly did not pay off. It is not the 1st of those either this season.

Esson Tokely - Duff - Munro - McBain Cowie - Black - Vigurs Wilson - Imrie Rooney Fraser has made a few errors and esson has done enough to suggest in the cup games he deserves a run. I dont think Proctor is ready to come back and his confidence will have taken a severe dent after his role in the Ibrox debacle (i feel he is blameless as he wasnt ready and is NOT a centre half - Brew take note) Duff came on and was fairly solid 2nd half Munro tried his best in a losing battle Hastings is finished and we need a new left back. I dont think Lionel is good enough to step in either. So in steps Mcbain who lacks talent for midfield but has the engine to get up and down. Cowie Black and Vigurs will be the middle men. All three creative with good movement. Imrie will switch between wide left and supporting the strikers depending on situations Wilson will support the inexperienced Rooney with his skill, touch and creative brain Rooney is the best forward we have and should lead the line. When Wilson tires bring on either Barrowman or Wood (if we are looking to score) or Duncan ( to protect a lead by sitting behind the middle three with Imrie pushing in behind Rooney more) Thank you.

I was trying to stick up for him for ages. Considered it a gelling process but we need change as it's not working.
-
rooney seems to have a touch of class. He just needs some experience to play alongside.
-
I've got a better idea. Demote Brewster to coach and appoint Wilson as No1! Then he can pick himself. Get in someone like, Big Dunc as assistant and it'll be the dream team!
-
I thought with our recent form and luck Rangers may have beaten us maybe 3-1. You know we havent been conceding alot. Fraser has been woeful of late. Duff has been unfairly dropped today and replaced with someone who hasnt played since last season. His 1st full game back against Rangers, at Ibrox at Centre Half! HE's a right back for goodness sake! McBain has to replace Hastings at Left Back and before today i'd drop Tokely for Proctor. Duncan has to play behind Black and allow him to create. Play Vigurs left of them and Cowie right of them, Imrie supporting Rooney. Esson in goals, Duff and Munro at the back. Easy. And thats my job application. I would appoint IHE as the phycologist to keep moral up. And anyone else can apply for other roles. I do not feel i should work well under a DoF, but if Scotty wants it. HE can have it.
-
Maybe by playing the kids against us they'll ease off in the 2nd. Apparently Black has never given up in the 2nd half. They have Rory Loy on FFS We got a corner. And thankfully they have taken Boyd off.
-
Obviously knee jerk reaction but yes get rid now. right now at half time. Let Clelland take the 2nd half with Wilson.
-
yeah is 4 nil our worst in the SPL.... until today. Any chance there will be a game abandonment?
-
His peak was under Skodahl, When the team finished bottom, yet he still scored a hat ful. Probably only 6 years ago as it was when Falkirk were refused promotion. And Im sure that was the year before us going up.

Best goal of the last week in the EPL.
Council Juice replied to FortressICT's topic in General Football
Berbatovs skill was fantastic. Certainly skill of the week but the general build up and finish were nothing fantastic. Lampards goal was wonderful technique, on his weaker foot. Where Bentley's technique was good and his vision to see Almunia of his line like that was superb, those type of goals have a lot of luck element attached. It was very opportunistic. Hit and Hope to be harsh. He did intend to shoot but again almunia wasnt too far away. -
C'mon 'well, C'mon you arabs! you can do it! Scotty, i said all that just as it went to 3. I didnt realise how bad it was getting. Im going to go and have a wee cry to myself now! someone needs to do this to brew now :thumb04:
