  1. anyways... congratulations to big grant and the family. very impressed he got all the way down straight out of the labour ward :) and an impressive performance to boot. really should get a song for the lad! congrats again grant
  2. conundrum time: which side do roscoe and golly line up on???? currently ICT, but also legends in their own right!
  3. duncan on, mccann off, gotta reckon duff will go to right back. fingers crossed for this one. we really need something!!!! terribly flat sounding
  4. :irritated: colin samuel. nothing goal, shinnie sounds as if he missed it in the air. samuel snuck in. :irritated:
  5. 1445: TEAM NEWS FROM THE CALEDONIAN STADIUM: Inverness CT: Esson, Tokely, Munro, Shinnie, McCann, Duff, Hayes, Ross, Rooney, Odhiambo, Foran. Subs: Tuffey, Golabek, Duncan, McBain, Morrison, Sutherland, Sanchez. St Johnstone: Smith, Maybury, Grainger, MacKay, Duberry, Morris, Millar, Craig, Jackson, Parkin, Samuel. Subs: Enckelman, Rutkiewicz, Myrie-Williams, Dobie, Haber, Caddis, Moffat McCann in, Duncan Out. Everything else as Aberdeen. Not sure i like it though, pedz is mysterious for us.
  6. we've had a couple weeks break there. is it possible some of our injuries will have cleared up?? mccann wasn't far from fitness last time out i think. dunno about gillet though. don't think duff deserves to be dropped though so i'd go with the same again.
  7. Given the disgrace that was friday night :irritated: , and to be honest the previous two games aswell, what would be your favoured scotland XI? with no injuries (even barry ferguson can play if you really want) and a game against the czech republic who would you want? personally i'd go like this..... Gordon Hutton Webster McManus Wallace Fletcher,D Thomson Dorrans Adam Maloney Fletcher,S Yep i'm stealing terry's tactics, but they work in an attacking sense in my opinion and i think scotland have players to do it. would use this team and formation for games against the like of the czech republic, lithuania and teams of a similar and slightly better calibre than ourselves. have a go. whats the point in playing not to? my only real dilemma is in the 'odi' role, mcfadden would be prefered but on current form adam would get it (although i ain't even sure if he plays there for blackpool) for bigger teams forsake one of the attackers for another more disciplined midfielder. in my opinion that looks not bad, there are even a few players around who i struggled not to put in. Attackers/Midfielders: Mcfadden, Snodgrass (when he gets fit again and proves himself in the championship), Naismith, Miller, Morrison, McCormack (if he finds form again), O'Conner, Jamie Mackie did impress me in his highlights reels but really don't know enough about him and he was played in completely the wrong position on friday Defenders: Berra, Caldwell, Weir either way everyone has an opinion. and i don't think were as bad as we appear just got some seriously unadventurous managers who think we need to play backs to the wall the whole time. its depressing, pointless and a waste of time and money for the players and fans alike. go on sir alex, retire from man u and take up the scotland job, i don't care if its only part time, even that would be better than what we got at the moment!! :irritated: your country needs you
  8. esson tokely proctor munro shinnie duff duncan ross odhiambo foran rooney if mccann or cox are fit, i'd have them on at right back, dropping proctor and moving rosco in. anyone but proctor and right back! :irritated: ross has been one of our better players in 2 bad games so doesn't deserve to get dropped, hayes hasn't really got into either of them. so drop him for a super sub role later on in the game, what a super sub
  9. right. i'm not so sure. he had some real good saves yesterday, good ones with feet and hands, i remember from the partick game last year that he is brilliant in this department, and he even took a few crosses quite well which i thought may have been his weakness however, on a couple occasions, samaras's we dink over him (proctor you numpty boot it in the air!!!) and the penalty come to mind, he seemed to come forward as if making a decision to close down the man then retreated before deciding to come back again. i am probably being way to harsh here but thought maybe this indecision could have cost us those two goals. i know he was left hopelessly expossed and it was a horrible game and defence to play in, but those were my observations. maybe comes with not playing regularly. no doubt he saved us from even more cricket scoring but still think he might have done better. ryan back on sat for me, tuffey may still get ahead of him later in the season tho.
  10. there wasn't 2 goals in it, but they took their chances and got through our full-backs way too easy! not good. we looked okay in possession and our goal came from some good work from ross and duff. eric did take two squaffs to get it in but it got there :) however the defence just wasn't at the races, proctor got done by templeton most times. rosco the same by suso (wasn't a penalty but close!) when kyle came on the centrebacks then had problems and couldn't cover the wings if needed. rosco ain't a left back. mcbain or golly please terry. reckoned ross, odi and hayes had good games although better final balls would be nice for rooney. ross was as good as i've seen him today, couple nice runs and a couple good inside balls. nice to see foran back although there was nothing he could do in the time remaining (one nice reverse path if i recall correctly). summary being we could have got something from that game but didn't and that was probably a defensive problem. with innes going off aswell this could be worrying!
  11. thats a horrible thought that one (terry and rooney being somewhere else next season). but one i think we'd be kidding ourselves if thinking its not a possibility. especially if we continue moving in an upwards direction. on the upside as was mentioned rooney seems like a good lad and by all accounts, along with the other members of out irish triumviate, seems to enjoy life in inverness. maybe that'll count for something? one can hope but regardless get him signed up another few years on a good deal and we may all be happy.
  12. goin with Rig on this one. although almost have a sneaking suspicion that might see rosco back ot the right and proctor in the middle. although rosco is slower. proctor was strong against the dundee forwards. don't think duff deserves a start or to jump ahead of sanchez/sutherland in the cue for utility man/support striker. or mcbain/morrison for any other midfield berths. wasn't to impressed the first time (another thread i know)
  13. really pleased to see this. good luck to you pele, whatever else may have happened to him he will always be a caley legend! just as an aside, i remember as a lad going to caledonian's last ever game away at huntly. would it have been pele managing them in that season?
  14. cheers, now more gutted than before that I can't make it :irritated: , i'm sure the good old wireless will be able to keep me abrest of how the gathering may be going, volume wise that is.
  15. thats a pretty stong line up there. chance to try something different in defence while giving the guys upfront time to build on their confidence. nick ross should take this with both hands, sort of game where he'll get chances to run. he has been good, but could do with creating a bit more
  16. not cool :( he will be missed. step up nick ross? your time may have come a little earlier :_header:
  17. What do the rules say about season ticket seats?? do you have to give people a name on their seat? instead of being to an allocated a seat, could it not be a season ticket to the North Stand. Then those who want to sing/stand/conga will all begin to congregate in the same area weekly, allowing others to make a choice about where they sit. Thus if they don't like people standing or jumping up they can move along or go to the main stand where we could keep allocated seating? I understand that there is also the issue of the family section but surely thats not insurmountable given our average home gate. It will be hard for some people who have had 'their' seat for a number of years but surely they'd accept it for a better atmosphere. I don't get to many home games (being Glasgow/Edinburgh student based) but when I do, my excitement at getting to walk out to the stadium is always slightly dampened by the atmosphere when i get there, it'll never stop me going but i'd still like more banter. Away days in the SPL and particularly last year were brilliant we have to be able to recreate it. TB demands it, i want to see him and the players coming to the fans (ala the Queen of the South game) more.
  18. ta. much appreciated by us southerners stuck to desks for the weekend. :)
  19. never been so pleased for a guy to score than when he sacrificed a few brains cells to get on foran's bullet cross at QotS last season. you could see it meant a lot to him, probably more coz his wee boy was there, but still he's a caley thistle man (which was he before i wonder :D ) through and through and for that reason he's welcome to stay as long as he wants in my book.
  20. surely they are just basing the fixtures on the top six of last season, which is fair enough really and no other idea in the gievn scheme makes more sense, and if anyone breaks into the top six all the fixtures go to pot. thats the problem with the split. get rid of it! bring in more teams!
  21. i know butcher released him so is unlikely to get him back, but if this is true would love to see him back here. would do a job similar to odi or sandshoes (well their signing probably def puts a nail in this rumour)
  22. all very well, the last partick game he was sensational. at shot stopping. thought his cross perception (for want of a better word) was a little off. still not sure how rooney got the header for the goal. was almost under the crossbar. so in that case there maybe a little mikey fraser about him? (sorry mike) if esson stays i'd be happier.
