Where now? I wondered where this thread might go and it's been really interesting reading all the suggestions from sports scientist to possibly spending a bit more like st j because of the other half coming back up to the top league It's also interesting looking at individuals viewpoints about survival being our main objective or thinking we should be more ambitious and aim for higher than that. I guess that's the great thing about football and our love for ICT that we all have different ideas, views etc and it's what makes the emotional roller coaster of following your local team so incredibly fulfilling but at other times so exasperating and frustrating. There are many types of fan, some who go to all the games, some occasional and some rarely, there are fans who can't get to games at all for various reasons but we all have a common bond and I for one think we are incredibly lucky to have the team we have. I'll be there tomorrow night in my usual seat in the north stand with my son. We will have a beer before the game and win lose or draw even if it's not the best game and a bit of disappointment ensues for a few mins after the game we will still have a laugh and a joke after and enjoy our night at TCS There has been incredible games Hearts semi Celtic semi Raith Rovers and supercaley etc and incredible disappointment Think Falkirk . We only have 3 games left this season and then it's time for a wee break and then it will be where now? Is it the dreaded shopping with the Mrs on a Saturday or doing the garden etc through the summer. Euro championships etc don't come close to a Saturday/Sunday/ Friday / Wednesday watching our own team in sun rain hail etc 3rd 2nd 1st or premier Where now will be watching and supporting our team and as long as they put in the effort and try their hardest I just can't imagine anything else comes close to being in the crowd (moaning or not as the case may be) on a match day Let's all enjoy our team and live for the moment it doesn't get any better
  2. Really interesting reading Scotty thanks for all your hard work

If that's true I'm absolutely gutted he's been a great servant for us and would be really sad to see him go. Surely Josh isn't going to be a permanent righ back with Warren and Devine in centre
  6. I always liked Rankin when he was with us before who can ever forget this goal some really pi$$ed off rangers fans walked with us after the game and they couldn't believe we could beat them. Not so sure about him coming back now as we are laden with midfielders
  7. Made me chuckle
  8. It was quite chilly tonight and that's pretty much all there is to say other than I have it on good authority that the haggis pies were quite nice but a little cold

As the Title says. Where now? Last year was undoubtedly the most successful in our history , to win the Scottish cup, finish 3rd in the league and play in Europe against Astra Giurgiu who are currently winning the Romanian league above Steau and Dinamo Bucharest is what dreams are made of. I think we will be safe this year but who knows what lies ahead. I personally am not bothered about County finishing above us as it's such a rare thing. For many years they weren't even in the same league as us and any Derby was pre season or a cup game Mid table for a club like ours is an achievement to be proud of and anything better is fantastc i enjoy trips to Dundee Perth Edinburgh etc and look at as a great day out with drinks football etc and hope they continue for a few years yet but if they don't there are trips to other towns which are just as enjoyable Hopefully we can maintain the top league for a while yet but I can't help but think next year is going to be pivotal in the story of ICT I'm always pretty optimistic and hopeful that things will work out ok. Ironically one of my favourite seasons was in the 1st when we came back up again and though we heard stories of losing £1million I really enjoyed it . Even losing the cup against Dundee after being 2 up As fans do we think the next few years can be as good. Have we reached a pinnacle. Are we going to be Like hibs/st mirren etc and flirt with the championship I can't help but think the story of ICT has got lots of twists and turns and exciting tales to come yet.
  12. 7 points above killie should be enough

  15. Named in the latest Scotland U21 squad. Well done
  16. No Storey or Mutombo ?
  17. I think I'm one of the most optimistic/positive guys you could meet but for some reason I'm just not getting that feeling this season. It seems to have been a struggle all along from that Richie Foran goal where we managed to beat the mighty Nairn County 1-0 in pre season with a full strength squad right up to beating the Dons 3-1 I just don't see us as a top 6 team i think of Yogis signings like Sekaja, Sho Silva and Lopez and think WTF? Mutombo has done ok as did Miles(who wears a magic hat) Storey originally , there has obviously been injury problems along the way though we have pretty much had our strongest squad with the exception of Doran and More recently Meekings and Vincent for some time now Down at Stirling a few weeks back we looked really poor against a team that were approx 30 places behind us at that time and even after beating them up here we still seemed to plod along with the pissy passy this way and that way stuff with little or no end product, I don't ever seem to recall as much frustration in the North stand over the last 20 years as I did that night. Who knows maybe we expect too much these days ? Many times At work I've had people saying to me that the first season or two under Hughes is great and then it usually goes awry when he takes in his own players Fisher Ryan Williams and Liam Hughes the verdict is out yet as they haven't had time But what really seems to get to me is the sheer lack of entertainment this season. Week in week out we sit in the stands hoping for something as most fans do yet more often than not at the end of the game we all seem to be glad it's over and rarely seem to see huge grins on the faces with a Lets go to the Caley club to celebrate attitude. I could well be talking bulls*** as I've had copious amounts of jd and Coke with a few lagers on the side but right at this moment I'd love to be sitting at Kingsmills again watching the 3-0 demolition of Kilmarnock or even down at Parkhead watching us getting beat with Mo Johnstone scoring or dare I say it even the game where the other lot drew with st Johnstone . There seems to be a lack of excitement and enjoyment this season, maybe it's a come down after last season which was pretty special but I don't see anything that will bring fans to the ground . I don't think I've ever written so much some will agree with some of it some will disagree and TBH I've pretty much forgotten where I started . Never drinking again!! I think I've prob said that before as well p.s. Back to the Nairn county game I enjoyed the pies the weather was great The football was shoite but I was still optimistic. Where did that go??
  18. Renegades talking about Wyness 101
  19. Sadly from what I could gather from my late brother they have terrible alcohol problems with the lack of daylight during the winter hours and the influence of western culture on their own I saw a lot of his photos and some of them were quite incredible one especially sticks in mind of a whale lying on the ice with all its innards hanging out and several hours later there was nothing left with pretty much every bit being used for something whether food or whatever it was the Hudson Bay Company he worked for Baffin Island / Arctic Bay
  20. JV will forever be a legend for his cup final goal. I'd love both to stay
