  1. In all seriousness, the lack of bins in the north stand? They are now all at one end, and whilst I get there is a cost attached, strategically the ones they have are redundant. People are now just chucking where they sit as they can’t be arsed going to the bin miles away. Easy fix surely. Also, would be a great idea to run a duster over the seats before the first game of the season. They were manky last year, worse this. Little things but they all add up. Other points made all get get my support.
  2. HT 0-2 FT: 2-3 1st ICT: Walsh 1st Opp: Cowie Crowd: 5760
  3. Pretty much agree. Woeful second half in contrast to a tremendous first 30 mins or so. We need to close out more clinically and sitting on a lead for 45 mins is not the way forward. However encouraged versus this time last year. Ridgers was outstanding again, he’s come a long way in my opinion. But top of the league and a trip to Dingwall will do me just fine. ????
  4. Thought we were magnificent yesterday. Clinical, quick passing and not too much time dawdling on the ball. Ridgers, Donaldson, Welsh stand out. Poli and Doran hungry for the ball. Great performance great result. Steak bridie is unusual but strangely tasted better yesterday than the same fixture last year ?. Let’s push on from there. Even cries of “ Ooh to be a Jaggie” which will please a few of my old pals from the other side..... ??
  5. A bit harsh on Tokely I feel ?. However, spot on with synopsis. A really poor decision to challenge when all he needed to do was jockey or is that old school? In any event, the Alloa player was going nowhere and we had men over. Yes, last year we would have lost but when do we stop using that as a yardstick? Soon I hope.......
  6. Simply not good enough. For me, I need to see much more passion, belief and desire to find space and drive forward for 90 mins, not ten in the first half and maybe 15 in the second? Too many invisible players yesterday and yes, bizarre that our CB took the pen but who else wanted it? He was perhaps a bit casual, but at least he wanted it. As Mr Toepoker stated - an omnishambles. I’m at Dunfermline next week and was there last year in the first game where we were royally humped. I’m not looking for a repeat.......
  7. First 10 or so thought we were great but no we are flat, side to side and getting slightly pulled apart at the back. Come on boys, more of the first minutes please. Too early for a sub?
  8. I think it is more bemusing than anything? We were defending champions - whether some consider it a cup worth defending or not - and so to send out untried players was always a gamble. I can't make my mind up tbh as I think it is essential that we try new players/ formations as evidenced by the change of tactics/ shape in the second half. Personally think we should have been looking to dominate this one as we will come up against DAFC in the league so good to have an edge. For me, I think last season we would have lost this time against Ayr and DAFC so I am taking the second half as a showing of what the players can achieve. I was disappointed, yes, but the performance in the second half made me happier. If they perform at that level and get beat then fair enough but the first half and vs Ayr is what I can't/ won't accept.
  9. Agree almost wholly other than the allegation Trafford was to blame for the first goal. McCart played him in with what used to be called a hospital pass. He was facing his own goal with two Dunfermline players within maybe three yards? I get that we want to play football but there are some scenarios where you need to clear your lines and that for me was one. McCart made me nervous in his first spell with us and has done little to allay any of my fears. He looks assure don th eball until he is pressurised then his distribution is at best average. However, to criticise Calder is bizarre as he was stand out for me - the width he and Walsh created was what led to our attacking spell, albeit with no striker to ban the ball in. Could we not bring back Billy Urq??!!
  10. Frustrating night. I feel we dominated but we gave the ball away very cheaply for their second and Hoban had no chance. It does seem bizarre that we would field a "weakened" side when we have a first team who are still getting to know each other but on the other had it was good to see some fresh faces. What a difference when we created some width with Calder and Walsh coming on - but we really need to convert these chances. McCart not for me I'm afraid. His distribution at times is casual - in fact all of the players last night at one point or another delivered a hospital pass to a team mate who was facing his own goal and then we are up against it. I take heart from the overall domination but as stated on here, goals win games, not possession. Trafford seems to be getting some stick on here but I must confess I like his style and his work rate is good. We just need supporting players though to be looking to create sapce and make positive runs? In my opinion as a top footbal manager of course... Will I be back against Alloa? Of course I will. Mon ICT!
  11. I think he is 24? I have always thought he puts in a shift for us but as ever with players (all of them) they need positive options ahead so they can oass the ball out. Was never a penalty, you could clearly see the gouge in the turf where they came together and it was a good yard outside the box. The ref went to the linesman I think but he couldn't have had a clear view form his position.
  12. May I applaud you on your use of the word homoerotic sir? I think I could confidently state that this is a first. ???????? And for the most part I think you are quite correct. ?
  13. I agree to an extent and have been known to dish out a bit in the North Stand myself although never of a personal nature. And yes it’s part of being a pro footballer. BUT if a group of people came to your work every day to tell you that you were *****, I think eventually you would throw the towel in no matter how strong your resolve is. A decent performance Tuesday and hopefully we can all move on ?
  14. Wow. Some amount of comments. I was in main stand so wasn’t aware of the verbals and wholly agree that chants against family unacceptable. In general I thought we were too narrow and lacked any real bite in the final third. But would we have taken this start last year? Absolutely. I was really disappointed that the team were booed off though - I’m guilty of venting my spleen from time to time but the first home game in the league? That’s no right! We surely need to stop arguing among ourselves and get behind the team even if we think the performance was crap. Notwithstanding this I reserve my right as a season ticket holder to criticise at will......? Mon ICT
  15. Or The Phantom of the Opera? Should get us off to a flyer.....
  16. It needs to be that late to allow the new signings to finish their end of term homework I reckon.... I'm looking forward to the new season whether I make it to these games or not.
  17. Not buying it. Press are bored in the off season. You should never, ever go back somewhere a third time and there is a long list of failed departees from Inverness. Butcher, Hughes, Paterson, Billy Mackay.... ?
  18. We might struggle for local? Depends how tenuous you want it. JK lives in Gairloch, Edwyn Collins in Golspie? Agree, drop Titanium and all that tosh, go with something punchy and Scottish. Despite the obv Pars connection, Skids and Big Country for me!
  19. I think Robbohas proven he has an eye for a signing, despite me being a doubter last season for some.... humble pie has been digested! Made a good couple and must confess not sad to see Jake go. On a separate note, we should be looking to get some season tickets going a la Dundee? I’ll renew and imagine most will as long as the board don’t make the same mistake as our now deposed chairman and associates.......?
  20. In principle I like it. In practice, we need an Unca Woy to fulfill this sort of commitment but if the three who usually feature on here are keen, they have the cash......
  21. Aye, had my doubts about his ability to come in and deal with the shitstorm he had to tidy but I take the proverbial hat off to him. He has done an amazing job of it and the team spirit appears to be evident ???
  22. Nothing to add really. Start of the season, going to the game and dragging the wee man along was brutal. Now it has been as it should be, looking forward to the next game, checking the phone every 2 mins on away scores and most definitely looking forward to next season with a great core squad who we need to hold and build on. Chapeau Robbo, his back room team and the Players - you’ve shown determination and grit to turn things around. So maybe a bit to add......??
  23. Aye, I heard Dunfermline and Poly for St Mirren maybe. Wouldn’t like to lose both but if one had to go I’d see Vigurs stay as he has done very well in the last half of the season. Poly can have a really negative attitude which I think is contagious. But that’s why I’m not a manager I suppose... Dream not dead yet, mon Dumbarton......?
  24. The need for investment is without question - although the term donation is, of course, more accurate. How many of us, really, would be willing to part with hundreds of thousands of pounds safe in the knowledge you would never recover any of it and the most gratitude you are likely to get is abuse for backing the wrong horse or not putting enough in? Regrettably, Uncle Roy is a Staggie but I agree if we could get Messrs Sutherland and Savage to stop chest beating and measuring their respective whatevers and see the club as the main priority??? What has happened in the past was an omnishambles but progress - on the park - has been made in my opinion. I agree with CB with the area/ economy struggling to support two clubs in the SPL and have playfully sparked heated debates after a dram or two by saying that the solution is to merge and create a highland superpower as it were. But as we know, it would take 5 generations before the deep wounds of merger vs takeover would begin to fade. And I say this firmly tongue in cheek from a footballing angle, but from a business perspective..... I do think communication needs to be improved. We are (technically) still in it but there has been nothing of Facebook/ Twitter etc since the game and we are missing a trick. Unfortunately, I have always felt that a hangover from the Highland League exists where some of those who take up board positions are doing so for their own benefit and not that of the club - some who took up post when the club were admitted to the league had never set foot in either Telford St or Kingsmills as a paying fan in their lives but it suited them to get a slice of the pie. Not all, I hasten to add as there are some stalwarts who give freely of their time week after week with only the clubs advancement as their reward. We need bums on seats and this is the biggest challenge the club face - more fans means more revenue but more fans also means atmosphere which in turn should bring more fans to the games. Surely as a player if you have a decent home support this will inspire a better performance and suddenly then we start to gain some traction? On the whole I think we need to plug these "leaks" where rumours of a rumour start emanating from the stadium and those who are responsible should be removed from post. The club need to be smarter in their delivery of fact much quicker to the fans. Sorry, rambling now - newbie on here but have to say it seems quite healthy. Mostly...
  25. Then perhaps some light is at the end of the tunnel.... Shame the highlights didn’t show the incident which led to the free kick and goal at the death. It looked soft, but then I’m biased but I’d love to see it from a couple of angles.
