Yogi's Contract
A lot of people get knickers in a twist and second guess or invent reasons why contracts have not been settled. Here's another possibility. Hughes is happy with renumeration and length of offer but needs to know who he can keep and who he can sign from outside. Club cant really make a decision on that till after AGM when accounts are approved, hence the next two weeks statement, so dont actually know what finances they have available. Yes there was a profit made but costings need to be worked out and budgets approved for the next spell.

Team for Celtic
I never see v Celtic as an important game. Mostly they win but they are beatable so what I'd like to see is an attack minded team on the pitch. Go at them. They still have a dodgy defence and they struggle with balls over the top so just go for it and see how it turns out.

I have just purchased tickets from ICT online shop. I believe they may also be on sale at ICT ticket office. I also think it likely they're will be cash gates at Tynie

Dani Lopez
Todays Courier. http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Caley-Thistle-squad-rally-behind-Dani-Lopez-amid-claims-he-was-punched-24112015.htm I'm inclined to think that, assuming he was provoked, and I don't condone spitting, perhaps his suspension and a club fine, along with a public apology from Dani should be enough punishment. As to his qualities, I haven't seen him play other than on TV but wonder if he's just struggling with the pace of Scottish game and the fact he's not had a lot of game time, either at ICT or his loan spells south of border. I seem to remember Juanjo struggling when he came first and he had had some experience with Hearts. I'd like to see the club sort things out quickly and, with players coming back from injury, get back to the happy dressing room.

Board announce £254 K profit
Clubs accounts are up to 15th May so do not include anything earned since then so Christie money not included.

Have we seen the last of Ryan?
Looking at the article it appears Celtic had planned to take him back inJanuary anyway:- Deila wants to make sure Christie is fit by the turn of the year, so he can decide if the youngster is ready to kick off his Hoops career. The Norwegian had already planned to bring his £500,000 signing down from the Highlands to train with his squad, get to know his new team-mates and bed him in before the end of the season. If thats the case then I wish him every success for the future

AWAY DAYS - Costs and numbers debate
So Hearach are you suggesting buses should be ordered and paid for regardless of whether they are filled? If I was living in Inverness area I'd be happy to pay £15 return for away travel. As it is I dont live there and usually have to pay a lot more than that for home and away travel. The problem here is, as Davie say's, people dont seemto want to travel for one reason or another and I'm inclined to think its not the bus cost that puts them of but other reasons only known to the folk who've stopped travelling. I had a look at a couple of self drive hire companies and it appears the average to hire a 17 seater minibus is around £200 a day. Add to that the cost of fuel at around 15/20 mpg and the cost per person becomes a good deal more than current asking price. These can be driven by anyone with D1 classification licence.

Development League info. (2015/16)
Report from DUFC Official Website Dev League: United 2 Inverness CT 3 November 3, 2015 In an entertaining encounter which helped light up a dank and dismal foggy afternoon at Dundee United’s St Andrews training complex, the Highland visitors edged it by the odd goal in five. By Peter Rundo The combination of the Youth Cup tie on Sunday and tomorrow’s League Cup tie at Easter Road meant it was a less experienced Tannadice side than usual. Nevertheless, they had by far the better of the first half going in a goal to the good after Ola Adeyemo had fired home from close range after five minutes. However, Inverness hit back through an Ally Sutherland volley ten minutes after the restart. And ten minutes later, they were ahead when Nat Wedderburn curled home a free-kick from 22 yards. At that stage, the visitors looked like they might run away with the game passing up a couple of good chances, but instead United recovered and Justin Johnson cut in from the left to fire a shot from outside the box which went under the keeper to equalise with 15 minutes left. Unfortunately, United conceded possession just inside their own half and Lewis Horner raced forward to crack home the winner in the final minutes.

Away game questions
Have not been to a game this season so far but will get back again in not too distant future. For me, living in Perth every games an away day. I would usually travel by train and taking account of food, drink, travel and entry I probably spend around £70 each game. I think that if we are calling for clubs to reduce costs for away fans then we must also call on them to reduce for home fans as well. Would it really be fair if those in North stand paid £20 while those in South paid £10 to watch the same game?

Yogi's Contract
Our attendance is what it is and no amount of debate is going to change that. Perth is a city of similar size and population to Inverness but has a football team thats been around since 1885. They have had limited success's over the years, including the Scottish Cup the year before us yet still only have a similar home fanbase as we do. Perth sends quite a few buses to OF matches just as Inverness do. Perth actually sent quite a few of their supporters to our SC final to boost our support and ensure their european place. St Johnstone haven't managed to oust OF fans and increase their fanbase in 130 years. What chance do we have?

IF we needed a new manager.....
I'm with the Bughtmaster. I'm thinking there's big financial difficulties at the club. Why else would they feel the need to pay off one of their most hard working and helpful members of staff. The club has struggled to balance the books for a few years now. The hope was that crowd figures would rise each year but that hasn't happened. There's no sugar daddy with blank cheques to keep us where we are. We pay the lowest player salaries in the league so there's no incentive for them to sign long term deals. Many have come from obscurity on a low wage to ressurect careers and will move on to better earnings as they get noticed. Just think what a SC medal is going to do for the CV. I think this is where JH is coming from. He cant build with players who want to better themselves and he can't offer them any incentive to want to stay. Whats the answer? I dont know but I better be of and get the Euromillions ticket bought.

Bench for Dundee Game
I dont know what the rules are nowadays on use of U-21's. Is it still the same that you have to have at least three in the matchday line-up? I'm also wondering if the reason for not having a couple against County had anything to do with the fact they had spent the week being coached for U-20 v Motherwell taking place the following day. I cant honestly see the reason having anything to do with bonuses. These are budgeted for and had we a full squad available the bench would have had the required number eligible for any possible reward. I also wonder whether those who are still on youth contracts or whatever they are called nowadays (old S-form) are entitled to any sort of bonus. Finally, it comes to mind that clubs are actually paid incentives to have developing youths in line-up so surely not using someone is counter productive.

Contract Situation
Are you arguing that Ryan was contracted to the club for two more full seasons subject only to triggering the club's option ? If so, I think most fans would be very surprised and disappointed indeed that he was sold today for a figure that would suggest that is not the case. I am of the belief that all contracts have to be scrutinised and approved by Football Association. As for Ryan I think we got a very good deal out of this sale. He wasn't going to stick around for much longer anyway and as it is we get cash and the player.

Yogi's Contract
I'm quite sure that the club would not have stood in Yogi's way had he wanted to move. DU is not the right club at the moment for anyone trying to better their career prospects. They are being run by a man who's only keeping the club because of his fathers passion for it. Steven Thompson is not interested in anything other than Steven Thompson and has done nothing to continue the good work his father had done to build a successful club. Would any manager with high hopes want to be associated with DU at this time I wonder. As to Yogi and ICT I'm quite sure there are ongoing talks about keeping the current management team and players together. As has been seen in the past we are not renowned for having those talks in public so I'll ignore the rumour and speculation and wait for the official statements.

Yogi's Contract
Any other club beware!! Inverness is a unique club that brings the best out of managers. But the facts are that when they move elsewhere they fail dismally. Steve Patterson to Aberdeen FAIL. John Robertson to Hearts FAIL. Craig Brewster to Dundee United FAIL. Terry Butcher to Hibs FAIL.

Ryan Christie
I think that is fair. They are not going to pay a million when they can sign him on a pre-contract in 4 months. If we couldn't agree a new deal for Christie, I would fancy our chances leaving it to a court to decide what is a fair settlement for training compensation. Ryan Gauld - sold for £3 mil James McCarthy - sold for £1.2 mil Stuart Armstrong - sold for £2 mil Both McCarthy and Armstrong have been awarded PFA and SFWA young player of the year awards, respectively. With Christie being SFWA young player of the year 2014/15, I think a good lawyer could easily make a very fair argument that > £1 mil is fair compensation. Training compensation and market value are completely different things. I'm not even sure we'd get into 6 figures for the former. I seem to remember a figure of £5000 a year for every year the player was signed by the club as being the level of compensation. Dont remember where I got that from but think it came out in some tribunal. The better outcome in any deal, and bear in mind that none of us actually know what Celtic have offered, is that a decent level of sell on fee is agreed. I 'disregard' the 'one-year-option' when updating the 'Contract Situation' thread. Utterly ridiculous clause in a contract. If say, Dani Lopez had a 'one-year-option' on his contract, but we decided to release him at the end of the season, I don't think he could stay here and claim a wage for another season. We can't just use it when it suits us. As much as I agree with virtually everything OCG posts, in this case, I beg to differ - Ryan is out of contract in the summer! If he goes and we get him and Stokes on loan, then 20% of our outfield team will be ineligible to play agains Celtic. I assume sponge bob square head John Collins will be in the media how this helps create the strong opposition they need to avoid getting regularly pumped out of the Champions League That is entirely dependant on lending club. There are many examples where players are permitted to play against their employers. Indeed we ourselves brought on Fetai at Ibrox. It was also reported in local press that Celtic gave permission for the lad Fisher to play against them but Tommy Wright felt it was too soon after him coming to St J.

Willie Collum
He must have what UEFA look for in a good referee though. He had five champions league matches and one euro qualifier last season.
