  1. Sadly, as has been said, and as Terry has said, home grown players price themselves out of contention. I do however believe, with our youth coaching policy, that we could get to a stage again where we field a majority of highlanders.
  2. Fraid not.....offshore till wednesday
  3. Just need to keep him away from women for a couple of weeks.
  4. No need for deletion. The apology is quite enough and deserving of a green one. Many people us terms that describe an illness or disability as a means of describing something totally different without first stopping to think that many others may have a close connection with the afflicted persons. The use of words like cretin, mongol, spastic etc are offensive to many and have no place in the modern language. As for the title of the thread..........it is my intention to enjoy a good drink and a bit of craic and banter before and after every game I can attend this season.
  5. My first memory of Colin was many many years ago when I was just a nipper and he worked, along with my old man, for John MacDonnell of Spean Bridge. Colin was laying turf and building dykes on the, then new, Roy Bridge to Spean Bridge road and he would let me ride on the trailer of the tractor they used to ferry the turf from a field at Kinchillie Motel. A nicer man you couldn't meet. Enjoy the rest of your days Colin. The new proprietor appears tobe doing things to increase the clientelle and its probably all good but............................................................how the hell do we get to the stadium now Richard?
  6. Charles, this is not a reflection of your hard work and excellent match reporting and commentating. It is an expression of dissappointment that I, who pays a national licence fee to a national institution, when searching the airwaves for news and commentary, find myself having to listen to a great deal of OF drivel in order to hear a few words on my own team. When I cant get to the highlands the best I can usually get is OAM which is dominated by the OF news and views.
  7. Read my post again I did not call all ICT fans cretins i referred to the ones that drink far too much, cause bother and get ejected from the various stadiums around Scotland as cretins Maybe you should get the Mrs to explain other peoples posts like she does on all other football matters before you even think replying in future Oh and what irony IHE accusing me of being an Orc when in fact he is the biggest Septic on this site Just for the record I despise both sides of the Old firm equally dougal So, what you are saying Dougal is that, persons who suffer from congenital hypothyroidism (cretinism) drink too much, cause bother and get ejected from various stadiums. My wife, who supports persons with learning difficulties, takes serious offence at those unjust and unfounded comparisons.
  8. I read Scottish U-21 as being a Scottish player of that age as opposed to Scotland U-21.
  9. I would imagine this is an expansion of the ruling that demands a club list 3 players who are under 21 in the team lines. Where, in the past, those players hardly ever came off the bench clubs are now being rewarded for starting them. Dont know the criterea for eligibility though. May be 21 or under at start of season in which case Andrew would not be eligible as he was 22 on 17th. The article is not very clear on this.
  10. Is it not something to do with fraud and false identity. All players must register with there national association. That association then gives clearance that the player is registered, is who he claims to be, and is free from contract within his own country.
  11. What Charlie is trying to say is that the BBC, as in other seasons, will have a programme dominated by the OF and interspersed with a few words about the other ten teams in the SPL and possibly one or two from the other leagues and every once in a while there will also be live commentary from an ICT match. Though even that will have a lot of reference to the aforementioned OF.
  12. If he has represented Scotland then why wouldn't we be eligible? I think Tom will qualify. Start 3 every game and thats ?38,000 in the coffers
  13. Nice to see you back again Emma. Hope to see you at some games as well and maybe even on the Highland Express from Perth
  14. Ross County 1 - 2 Elgin City Amen
  15. Proctor is a squad player trying to play in a position he's not good in but is forced to play in. To be honest I dont really know what his best position is but its not right back. That said he has displayed some good football in the past and will likely do so again. He doesn't deserve some of the comments being made about him.
  16. Motherwell have an established squad. We are building. We are a mid table team with hopes of top six and we are building towards that. The first game of the season is always a tricky one and we have been beaten as much as we've won our first game. We will come good. I agree with many that the loss of Duncan and Munro may be a bad thing but we can't dwell on that now and must, instead, get behind and support what we have. Hopefully there will be a stronger defense in place before the window closure and things will get better.
  17. And why do Gillet and McKay have to share 21

  21. Not necessarily. refs are employed by SFA. Its time they put some of their funds to more productive use.
  22. i do???? spooky but actually i dont think thats a bad idea...further to that would be intrested if any former players have gone into refereeing at a decent level?? would an ex player make a good ref? Sorry, should have said Gabby.
  23. Scotty, are we having a prediction league this season?
  24. What I said!!
