Leave the loon alone, he did OK in the role he was asked to play. Once he scores, there will be no stopping him. Even after a win some folk just need a wee moan to set up their evening.

No! First one was 1-1
-
And 4th is still very much within our grasp

Tangoman is a decent manager but can he get what he needs out of the squad he's inherited? Its the same players that McStay failed with
-
Maybe could try 4-3-1-2 with Doran having free reign behind the strikers.

Looks like its another makeshift squad this week. Nick Ross might be available. Graeme Shinnie is in hospital with stomach problems. Grant suspended. Jonny Hayes is a doubtful after injuring his foot at Midden. Gillet Morrison and Blumenstien are back training but lack match fitness. Roy McBain is still injured and Dani Sanchez is likely out for the rest of the season. With that in mind I think the team will be: Esson Duff, Tokely, Innes, Hogg (Not sure how that would fit in) Proctor, Cox, Duncan, Doran Foran, Rooney Bench: Tuffey, Golabek, Odhiambo, MacDonald, Ross (if fit) Polworth Thats pretty much everyone that could be available

The teams around us will pick up points and they'll drop points. A top six is still very much on the cards and very much in our own hands. We have to start by taking all three against St J. Hibs have won a couple of games but they are still struggling. Dundee United have not been anything brilliant this season and will start to suffer with injury and backlog. Motherwell are totally lacking in confidence and consistency. Its all doable and in our own hands and if we could get some players back fit in the run in we have the advantage.

Like many other teams, CD, Dundee were hit by the weather. I would presume that money was needed to tide them through periods of no income.

Why is it at Emirates?

Regardless of how we all feel about the Dundee situation can I just point out that the job of the Administrator is to ensure that a business, be it football or any other, can continue to meet its commitments and to keep the business running whilst finding ways of sorting out the dety. A debt that would have been frozen at the point of registering Administration. All they done was well within business law. That aside I must say that Dundee are very lucky that they have had two different owners for each term of Administration. Had it been the same owner for both then he or she would be banned from running a business for a period. And that would likely have seen the total demise of Dundee FC. The club have been penalised and they may well struggle to get service from all or many of those who have lost out so they could actually still struggle meet their day to day committments but if they haven't learned this time then I think all sympathy will be lost and they will disappear from the Scottish Professional League structure.

Be mindful that I said LEAGUE and my stats are provided by the SPL and EPL official websites.

And those from the outlying reaches of Crieff and Comrie, Tayside and Angus I have noticed in recent weeks that there are a few more fans based in this area than there used to be. In days gone by there was a contingent of fans from middle England, Chorley etc, who would have get togethers from time to time and drink beer and talk p!ss. Would the contingent from this area be interested in something similar? We could even expand to cutting travel costs by getting together and hiring a minibus on matchdays. But that would be something to discuss. Any of you lot interested?

Fantastic report fae Maryhill. Dont remember seeing a notebook in his hand so how he remembered it all after the alcohol consumed at the Alamo I'll never know. Obviously he forgot the bit about doing the bouncy at 100 mph on the run back into the city.

First off, as dougal has rightly pointed out, all seater stadia are the way it is. Though, as Caled has also pointed out, thats not strictly true. After some major incidents in european stadiums, and in light of the report into the Hillsborough disaster, the UK government passed law that any stadium with a capacity of over ten thousand had to be all seater. That law was accepted by all the UK clubs and they duly adhered to it. Knowhere in the recommendations, nor in the law, did any suggestion be made that everybody had to sit down in the seats. Only the SPL make that rule. Are we just meek and mild people who accept such stupidity or do we fight it. Just watching Fulham v Chelsea and at least half of the crowd are standing. Do I see a steward being an asshole? No. As I said earlier the only way that we will get common sense and change is to protest. All fans of all clubs start by lobbying the chairmen of all clubs. These are the people who make the rules. These are the people who can change them. I am a regular attendee at Scotland games at Hampden. I have stood with every other fan throughout a game. Indeed I only sit for a rest at half time. No steward has ever come along and told us to sit. If seventy thousand at Hampden can safely stand then a few thousand at the SPL clubs can do the same. I have witnessed confrontation with stewards but that has only ever been when an over zealous steward thought he could impose his authority in an aggressive manner. I have also witnessed very sensible stewarding and a great rapport between them and the fans. Best example of that was at Motherwell when the steward thought someone should be removed for his own safety. Two minutes of conversation and an assurance that I would personally make sure the aforesaid person sat on his ass till the end of the game and everything was fine. Sensible stewarding and many of us stood throughout the match. Dewesbury you still owe me one.

Who are the SPL? They are the directors of every member club of that league. These are the people who need to be lobbyed to make change. Maybe the time has come to start that lobbying. Maybe the time has come for all fans of all clubs to get together and show protest at a rule that only applies in one league in Scotland. Greater stadiums with greater crowds do not have these problems.

Completely correct! Is this a first? Its amazing how correct one can be seven minutes after the team lines are released.
-
(That Rooney) 17 league starts + 2 off the bench and scored 5 (Our Rooney) 25 league starts and scored 13 And I've seen a much better, smoother, sleeker overhead kick from Tokely

I'm totally amazed and shocked that the BBC and fans of this site have not included in the shortlist Butcher and Malpas. Maybe the P&J wont let me down.
-
Wont hold my breath. Six goals from Rangers and three from Celtic will take 95% of the programme.

Two plugs in one thread ed. And for anyone interested you may just spot ed waiter HERE

Harry has the right of it. Both teams were pretty even and both teams played some very decent football. I'm still not convinced about the penalty but it was given and they scored from it and nothing can change that now. Defence was a serious problem for both teams and either could have had more goals. It was a bit sickening that after going 2-1 down and coming back to 2-3 we let them in for the equaliser but its still a point taken away from home and we are back in clear fifth for another week. Unless DU turn round the current scoreline. I should add that, not only could we not field a strong defensive unit, we couldn't name a full squad for this game. Thankfully we have quite a few U-21's playing in the first team or we'd have had to raid the youths to adhere to the SPL rules.

I dont know, nor am I interested in, the ins and outs of how Grassa raised the funds for this purchase. I do know, from the horses mouth, however, that there is no intention to change the uses of the building and that, as long as there remains a strong membership, the Caley Thistle Social Club will continue to run the business as it is. I could be wrong but it is my understanding that any profit made from the Social goes to the Football Club and that in previous years this has been in the region of ?30k a year. This could actually turn out a shrewd move for the Football club. If they can convince Adam Rooney to sign a decent deal, using the funds raised, they may then be able to sell him on at a good profit.

I tend to take the info from SFA site as being more accurate than P&J Outstanding Suspensions (as at 10/02/11) Player (Club) Suspension Scottish Premier League GRANT MUNRO (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE F.C.) 2 SPL First Team matches ROSS TOKELY (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE F.C.) 1 SPL First Team match
-
I'm pretty sure that Rossco will still be suspended for the St Johnstone game. Rossco had a one game suspension and Grant three I think. Did the cup game not count as one of Grants.

The form is on every page of the site but if you click on Competition Launch page then fill the form you get a thank you message that replaces the form. I done it from the first page and got the same as Scotty described. I then went to the Competition Launch page and done it again for Missus M and this time got the thank you message.
