Aaron Doran ICTFC Legend This Saturday it's a day to say thankyou to a club legend. Aaron Brian Cogan Doran has given the main chunk of his footballing career to the Caley Jags since joining from Blackburn Rovers having previously been loaned out to Milton Keynes Dons and Leyton Orient. He was initially signed on a six month loan deal by Terry Butcher, making 14 appearances scoring 3 times. His debut was as a substitute for Stuart Duff in a 2-0 defeat by Aberdeen on 26th January 2011. His first goal came against St Mirren in a 3-3 draw some three weeks later on the 12th of February 2025. Here is how we saw it on CTO: the Saints managed to clear the danger temporarily, the ball only came as far as David Proctor, who threw a dangerous looping ball into the box. Adam Rooney seemed to get some sort of touch on it and as the ball bounced beyond Richie Foran, Aaron Doran came steaming in at the back post and fired it into the roof of the net. (This portion of the match report was brought to you by the miracle of BBC highlights: I was in the bog at the time.) His third Caley Jags goal was a belter. A spectacular curling effort from distance against St Johnstone in a televised 3-0 game on 25th April 2011. Pick that one out. He was then signed on a permanent deal at the end of the season and he embarked on a fantastic career at the Caledonian Stadium spanning 13 years until injury cut his time here short and he left under a cloud of controversy created by the Scot Gardiner oligarchy and with a damaged knee to contend with. That was the low point of a tremendous career, littered with goals, assists, flair and a Scottish Cup winners medal round his neck. Who can forget his brilliant precision assist for the opening goal in the final against Falkirk back in 2015. Superb. A great footballing brain in a career blighted by injuries. Aaron was painted by talented local artist Sophie Robb, a big Caley Jags fan herself, holding the Scottish Cup aloft in 2015. In total, he made 392 (118 from the bench) appearances for Inverness scoring 57 goals. His last appearance sadly lasted only 19 minutes when he was helped from the pitch with another serious knee injury against Raith Rovers on 19th April 2024, a sad end to his playing career at the Caledonian Stadium, although unknown to us at the time, worse would follow. He is second only to Ross Tokely in appearances. A Scottish Cup winner and a Challenge Cup winner and also played in the Scottish Cup Final in 2023. He was the Supporters Player of the Year in 2023. When he left Inverness in June 2024 he joined up with Ryan Esson at Strathspey Thistle where he now helps with the coaching and still helps out on the pitch. So much so he managed to score against the Caley Jags in a recent pre-season game. All the best Aaron. Yes, the tone of ICT Social Media has been revolutionised. I think this is simply one very significant symptom of the very positive Wind of Change that has swept through the club since the old regime departed. The steady change in morale has been palpable and the increasingly upbeat tone of the Social Media has played a big part in that.

Given that he said in his interview that it was going to be hard on his family, I think he will be up for the majority if not the whole week.

As you will have seen, we have now established separate areas for the Supporters Trust and the Travel Club who have started to make use of them to publicise events and add content. These are self-contained areas within the site and the management and moderation of them is under their control. Topics will appear in the main list of topics and calendar events will appear in the calendar sidebar. We have also added the fixture list for 2025-26 to the calendar and it will also be available in the traditional stats program. We are still looking for a sponsor for that part of the site to enable us to pay for an upgrade to the program, or for someone with mad PHP/SQL skills to deconstruct and reverse engineer the program we are using. Its classed as 'abandonware' from the original author and only one person (we know of) has taken it up and kept it modern. Easy option is to pay him for the updates, but the cost is high For now it will trundle along as it is. I am now starting the next stage of updates and as part of that some areas of the site may become unavailable at times, menus may change, and some unused parts of the site, or infrequently posted in forums may be merged into others. If you spot something not working for an extended period, or looking weird beyond a few minutes or hours, let me know. I want to streamline everything and remove any clutter and noise before we perform the actual software upgrade. All being well I hope to do the software upgrade at some point (later) next week or perhaps the week after.

Rules and Instructions for playing the Nutters Prediction League (NPL) for the 2025/26 Season. How to Play - General Information To take part in the NPL all you have to do is simply predict the following for all First Team Inverness Caledonian Thistle matches. Competitions covered in the NPL are: The Championship; League Cup; Challenge Cup* and SFA Cup. *Challenge Cup games will be HT and FT ONLY The Half Time (HT) score. The Full Time (FT) score. The scorer of the First goal for ICT. The scorer of the first goal for the opposition and The Crowd / Attendance figure. There is no need to register for this game. Just enter your prediction on the Gringo’s NPL Board on the forum before the match kicks off. Each game will be posted on the board approx’ two weeks before the fixture (if I remember!). If you are going away on your holidays etc and the games you wish place a prediction on have not been posted, then please PM me your selections and will do my best to post them for you. First Scorer ICT/ Opposition /Use of Surnames You will be awarded 2pts for a correct answer. OG's do count but only if you state this at the time and for the correct team. Please be aware of teams who have the same players surname in their line ups (including those on the bench) so please state clearly which player you have selected by using their first name(s). Failure to clarify this WILL result in a loss of points if that player scores. Crowd Section You will be awarded 10 pts if you are bang on and 5pts if you are no more than 100 out – over or under. The crowd figure will be determined by those displayed on the Official SPFL Web Site. If for some reason this site does not publish the crowd figure an alternative recognised web site may used. If there are no correct predictions (10 pointers) for the crowd then the nearest entrant to the actual figure will be awarded TWO bonus points. If there is a tie for this honour all involved will receive the two points. The JOKER For 2025/26 please refer to the separate thread regarding your JOKER entitlement. Using a Joker will DOUBLE your points tally for that game. Only one joker per game can be used. Use them wisely on games you are very confident on getting loads of points. The Joker CAN be used on any Bonus Point games but any Bonus Points won will NOT be doubled. To use your Joker simply add **JOKER** at the end of your prediction. The winner of the 2025/26 NPL will be able to use three jokers the following season. Those finishing in the next nine positions will qualify for two Jokers and all others will only get one. Cup Matches Cup matches will be based on 90 mins only (which includes time added on for stoppages). Extra time does not count. There will be no extra points awarded for extra-time scores / pens etc. Any games played on a neutral ground the home team will be notified on the appropriate game thread. Bonus points From time to time I will select a match where bonus points will be available. All bonus point matches and details of how to win these points will be advertised on the specific thread. Please look out for them as they could appear at any time. Abandoned / Postponed Matches Abandoned and Postponed matches will be VOID and all entries will be cancelled. They will NOT be carried over for the re-arranged fixture unless otherwise stated. Notes on 1st scorer A point was raised about naming a first scorer after predicting a '0' scoreline. It was suggested that the entrant should put 'None' or No Scorer in the first scorer section and be awarded the 2pts. As far as I am concerned if there isn’t a goal there cannot be a 'first scorer'. I have no problem with entrants naming a 'first scorer' and predicting a '0' scoreline. It will be accepted. (Affectionately known as Gringo’s Law) Posting for other players / Multiple Postings You can post a prediction on behalf of another entrant (with their permission!) but please specify clearly who the prediction is for. Posting a series of predictions is also permitted but please make sure all the entrants names are on the respective entries. Notes on Correcting your Prediction Corrections to your prediction(s) can me made prior to kick-off by either using the edit facility on the original post or, alternatively, just re-post the whole prediction. In all cases the later prediction is used when the NPL spreadsheet is compiled. Scores and Updates Results and Tables from completed Games will be posted as soon as possible after each game. As I am the only person running the NPL, delays to updates can be expected due to holidays and going to watch ICT etc. As a general rule I will attempt to get the update on the NPL Board no later than two hours after the match. An expected update time will be advised on the respective Game Thread. Championship Tie In the event of a tie for first place, positions will be decided by the amount of correct scores (HT/FT 5 pointers) you have got, if there is still a tie after that the amount of correct scorers will be used. If it is still tied after that then I will use the average points system. This system will also be used to determine the 'Euro' positions for the benefit of the Joker quota for the following season. Prize Bragging rights only will be yours for an entire season and your name etched into the Role of Honour for the NPL. The top ten positions will be regarded as 'qualifying for Europe' and will be inscribed on the NPL Honours list.

We dont do popups. We do google ads only and these are top and bottom of forum, sidebar and sometimes inline ads. If you are getting actual popup ads I would like to know more as we have not enabled these as they bug the **** out of most people including me. As CaleyD noted, we do have an option for removing ads by becomiong a sponsor and also, I will be reviewing the ads as I work through the new site design and software. I think we do currently get too many as I let google choose positioning and sometimes I see double myself when i go to certain pages.
