Don Cowie

Hello Watford fan in peace here and was wondering about Don Cowie. He has apparently just signed a pre-contract with us and will join in the summer.

Any info on him? what position? what type of player? hard-worker? etc.

Thanks

On from the start this evening and booked after 51 minutes but they beat Swansea 2-0....good win for them....

Watford: Loach, Mariappa, DeMerit, Mike Williamson, Doyley, Cork, Cowie, McAnuff, Jenkins, Priskin, Smith.

Swansea: De Vries, Serran, Williams, Monk, Tate, Britton, Gomez, Allen, Butler, Dyer, Scotland.

Not like Don to get booked.

How did Swansea lose when they've got Wales, Scotland and Britton on their side!

And Watford won on Demerit, the Butler couldnt handle the Doyley, Watford did just about Mcanuff to win it and they popped their Cork at the end.

Cowie had a very good debut, superb stamina and was up and down the wing all night working very hard for the team, He also showed good technical ability as well and came close to scoring on a few occasions.

Not a direct winger and doesnt really have the pace to be one but had a very good solid debut if unspectacular.

Hacked someone down right outside the box, almost a pen. The Swansea player got past a few players and Cowie was caught abit flat footed ad tripped him up. :rotflmao:

Sounds like a typical Cowie performance.

He will score goals arriving late into the box and should do well enough for you. He may well be a 6-10 goals a season man. Takes a mean free kick on occasions.

Saw the highlights on Sky Sports. That Loach guy seemed a bit dodgy to me. Was Mart Poom not your number 1 at one point?

Poom was number 1 but got injured so Loach came in but then he got injured so Richard Lee came in but he was playing crap so when Loach was fit again he came back in.

Loach is a good goalkeeper, probably abit early for him to be playing first team football but he is the best we have and at just 20 yrs old (very young for GK) is very highly rated and will becombe a very good goalie but due to his age he has made a couple of mistakes this season.

England U21 international as well.

I think Mart Poom was linked to ICT at one point. About the time Brown went to Celtic IIRC.

Seen Loach last season when he was on loan at Bradford City, really good prospect i thought

Kept 2 clean sheets now which will boost confidence.

Maybe needs to come off his line more and be comanding but then ofcourse if he missed a punch or catch which lead to a goal the fans would get on his back.

that watford top doesn't suit him!

he looks different!!

Chipper scores his first goal! :rotflmao: having a blinder....just set up the 2nd goal as well!

If your interested here's my report on his performance from the Watford forum.

"Cowie- 8 MOTM Goal and an assist. Could have had 2 or 3 goals but he scored 1 and which is good enough for me and also showed great movement and ability for the second goal. Very good passing and works extremely hard."

He reminds of Ji Sung Park

what do the other watford fans make of him???

Most seems to really like him. His work rate has quickly endeared himself to the Watford fans.

Should be a top player for us if he stays consistent which he seems to be.

Good to see him playing well!
