Blackie Signs 'til 2009...

...according to the Highland News. Good stuff :clapping04:

It also says we're close to signing a striker before the deadline, but this is dependent on the selling club being able to get a replacement in. No idea who it might be though.

It must be true it's came straight from his mouth. :003:

What I read says that they are hoping to have it signed over the weekend or by Monday (AGAIN!!!!)

I think you'll find the problem is getting all parties together at the one time.

Good point Alex. Here I've been on your train quite a few times il need to introduce myself next time! :001:

good news aboot blackie,  hopefully the others will follow his example

What train is that pele

Erm......perth to inverness a few times last season. If it ain't you, you have a double! :015:

Oh, right. Thought maybe you meant Perth to Aberdeen where I can be found having a refreshment once a month or even Aberdeen back to Perth a fortnight later.

The article headline says he has signed the contract. The article itself says it's just a matter of getting Blackies agent up here to do the business. I'm not so sure they'd have come out with such a definite headline if it wasn't true. Other news reports always seem to say the players are 'ready' to sign. I'm totally pissed off with all these statements we keep releasing regarding players and contracts(what's happened to Dargos??), it's just making us look amateurish as a club. For once though I do believe this one, and I do believe Black has/will signed the contract extension.

If he fecks off to Hibs tomorrow then both me and the HN are gonna look right twats :001:

Correct me if I'm wrong here Davie but how can he feck of to Hibs tomorrow. He is still contracted to next year regardless of whether he signs his extention or not. Blackie has publicly stated that he is satisfied with his new terms and would be signing when he can get his agent up. Stop panicking. The mans staying.

a wee birdie hinted to me on saturday that he was staying.... :004: :001:

Was that the fiancee or the daughter Mairi

Ach, just joking Alex :001:

I agree, the deal is done and dusted. Great news IMO :clapping04: :clapping04: :clapping04:

Charlie Christie is quoted in today's P&J as stating that the new contract will be signed within the next seven days.

Signed within the next 7 days. Hmmm...thats what they said last week as well  :006:

is it a real contrat or a steve paterson contract type?

In the order that it appears on the BBC site (IMO!) bad news and good news. Though I thought that Blackie had signed a 2 year extension as opposed to a 2 year deal?

Whichever, it is good news that he has decided to extend his stay. I admire him for doing so when it was evident that he could have increased his earnings significantly by getting a move.

However, his new contract will almost certainly contain an escape clause for him if a specified transfer fee is offered. As a result I don't expect him to see out all of this new contract, but at least the club should get a reasonable fee if he moves on.

delighted Black's committed himself to the club and happy to have a new member to the ICT family who if not anything else will have plenty of advice to offer our younger players...
