Our Old Boss

Pele has just been appointed as the new Huntly FC manager replacing Mike Teasdale's brother John at the helm. It is also interesting to note that his old chairman Forbes Shand has taken the role of "Football Consultant" to provide a "buffer" between Pele and the board.

I don't see him managing at a higher level than HFL but I'm sure he will win some trophies.

Pele was a legend with us when he was carrying a lot of baggage with him, I see no reason why he can't go on to be a success at a much higher level. Good luck Steve.

I think he made it quite clear that he is FUNDAMENTALLY capable of managing at a higher level than that but the deciding factor will probably be the extent to which he has managed to banish his demons.

Even in a situation where I was meeting him face to face a couple of times a week I had no idea that his life was descending into such chaos when he was at ICT. Yes, we knew there were problems but it is only since the publication of the book that their full extent has become apparent.

IF Steve can keep himself on the straight and narrow, I have got very positive feelings about the return of the Paterson - Shand partnership at Huntly - which I see got off to a winning start today.

That in itself is unusual for any phase of Pele's management career - he was always a notoriously slow starter (qv Season 1997-98 in the Second Division  )

A backward Pele is elep of faith.

Never say never. :bouncyblue:

And Huntly have gone unbeaten since he took over.

... which by Pele's normal way of working is a flying start!!!

Great to see him settling in so well at Christie Park. And there can't be too many managers who remain legends with a club's fans eight years after they left!

I'd love to hear his take on how he thinks ICT are progressing (especially in regard to our home form).

Sounds like a certain cup game against Ayr!
