in other news ... all other SPL teams through without a hiccup although it did take a 90th minute goal for St Mirren. Looks like extra-time for us !

There is a need for the defence to get match practice to gel better. Allowing the game to go into extra time gives the lads an extra 30 minutes together. This is clearly a sensible strategy and now that they have the extra time together they can start playing to win.

Seriously though, I wonder if the artificial surface is a factor? It must take a bit of getting used to and just take the edge off your performance.
