It's a great day when you take your kids to their first football match.  And so it was when I set off with my son and 6 year old grandson to the Accies match.  We lasted 40 minutes before we took the decision (jointly between my son and I) to leave and not to expose my grandson to any more of the most disgusting, foul-mouthed abuse that I have ever heard at a football match. (e.g I'm going to f*****g kill you you f**** c*** and I'm going to f*** your mother you f****** c***).  Constant, hardly a room for breath before the next tirade along the same lines.

I've been going to matches for nearly 50 years and am no shrinking violet or sweetie rustler myself, but I have NEVER heard such a constant vile and foul tirade that was an embarassment to ICT.  I hope you, whoever you are, read this.  Maybe you are not even a regular supporter although you were wearing a Caley Jags scarf. But you are without any doubt the biggest scumbag that I have ever seen at any football match. Do you have kids? ....would you be happy for them to hear what came out of your foul mouth?

It's a real pity there was no stewarding in the away stand (none at all) because you wouldn't have lasted minutes otherwise.  But there was none and you got away with it and I will think twice about going to any more away matches while people like you spoil football for everyone around you, especially kids.  I certainly won't be taking my grandson back and it is all down to one particular foul-mouthed individual.

  • You can't criticise someone for calling others names in one sentence and then call them "scumbag" in your next sentence...unless you're a hypocrite!

  • I took one of my boys to his 1st competative football game yesterday. He is 12. As I don't tolerate swearing/name calling from the kids(I know hard for some to believe), I explained before the game th

  • It's always worse when it's Hamilton as that abuse is directed at Dougie Imrie. I find it tiresome as well and the guys that shout it need to get a grip, it does nothing to enhance the game or atmosph

Manfer, opinion is NOT fact. It is opinion. The OP has made allegations. At this moment they are NOT fact, they are allegations. Others are therefore entitled to voice contrary opinions, it's just balance. Neither can you moderate in the way you have done and then dismiss contrary opinions with "life's too short/ pedantry" dismissals which are frankly arrogant. Explaining argument and pointing out rule infringements is simply something that you have to do as a moderator - it's your job.

I never thought I'd see such poor moderation on this site.

If that's your opinion then report anything you don't think is suitable. Where have you defined what is moderating and what is my personal opinion.

Job, aye right.

Oh well, that's Sunday night sorted. (is that moderation)

Please direct any further complaints about the moderation in the appropriate way via the report button. Now that is moderation.

Keep to the original topic please as we seem to have digressed into a state of one-upmanship. That's moderation as well for all you pedants.

It is FACT that these things were said. Not an allegation but Fact. If you were in our part of the stand you heard it. Fact not allegation or opinion.

You know when an argument goes on for so long and becomes so in depth that you forget what's being debated? Yeah...

Having been conspicuous by my silence since making the original post, can I suggest drawing a line under this. I did not intend anything other than expressing genuine feelings about the situation, have been encouraged by the supporting posts ... yet disappointed at those suggesting hypocrisy or attention seeking. And I did not want to get into a free for all with those who may have disagreed with what I had said.  So can we call it a day .....  we have a European place to fight for and we need to focus on that and continuing to boost our support home and away!!
