Loss County

Ross County made an operating loss of £450,000 for the year to 30 June 2014.  Turnover fell from £3.2 million to £2.8 million so it shows the difference not making top 6 can make.

It will be interesting to see the loss they make this year because the wages paid out to the huge numbers of players signed an released must be huge.

On current form they could win the league next year!  It will be interesting to see hopw long they can keep this run going and assuming they stay up, how many of the team they can retain for next season.  If they can't stay up they could well find themselves in an increasingly difficult financial position,

Not had a proper look at the published accounts (for County or Parent Company), but something doesn't seem right.

All their talk of selling out hospitality for the full season, increased season ticket sales and attendance figures....yet turnover is down by about 13%!!!

Maybe we should go lightly on our neighbours. In beating Dundee United and St Johnstone in consecutive matches they have being doing more recently to get us over the line to our record third place finish than we have been capable of ourselves over the last few weeks.....

It would be interesting to look at their accounts. That said, their current performances are superb in any one's book, and in inspiring Motherwell, they have put the absolute skitters up Partick Thistle. Long may their stop and start financial investments continue.

Difficult enough for us to sustain full time football in the Premiership. With an annual turnover now a million pounds lower than ours and with their huge turnover of players, it is indeed a mystery how County manage their finances.

Ironically I've just been reading an article (although a few weeks old) about how Ross County are 'the perfect football club' - well run, financially prudent etc etc!

Losses of nearly £10,000-a-week are surely not sustainable in the long term!

I'll echo the above sentiments regarding their upturn in fortunes on the field, however. Staggering! (pun intended)

Comparing their recent run to that of Dundee United (who've 'sold' their season for a healthy balance sheet - and made Jackie Mac a few bob too):

On Valentine's morning United had 45 points to County's 12.

Since then, County have added 22 points to United's 1 (one) !!!
