  1. Is Calderwood even bothered?! Don't think so... I was speaking to a hibee today who in the first time in 16 years hasn't renewed his season ticket because of Calderwood. I'm going to stop posting in response to Laurence. At least big Tel is passionate about football and our club.

  2. Ferguson hit a bit of luck with the players he inherited when he took charge of Aberdeen. And as Dougal has correctly pointed out this was in a different era. Laurence, please don't slag off our manager, club, fans etc any more. It's not pleasant to read and there's enough negativity on here! Back on-topic, I watched Barca demolish Athletico 5-0 last night... As much as I like watching La Liga, it's not much of a competition really, is it? At least the limited TV money does trickle down to the smaller teams in Scotland. I personally (very much hypothetically speaking) would like to see some of the teams from the north east of England join the SPL - Newcastle and Sunderland in particular. They're never winning the EPL anytime soon and a 16 or 18 team SPL would be far more competitive and would pull bigger crowds IMHO.

  3. Thought we've been doing okay. Just don't have that extra bit of quality Celtic pay millions for. It's a bit like when Scots play in Europe. You can see we compete and are unlucky to lose but yet, it's obvious there's just that bit missing. Tade's looked lively. Foran's days as a striker are gone surely. First choice for a midfield berth but I'd rather see Mackay or Sutherland get a goal-hanger role. We're crying out for someone that doesn't do half the work that Foran or Tade do, but are very selfish, waiting to grab the glory of an easy tap-in. Chippendale was drafted in due to injury to Hayes and Doran...and you can see it. Not a patch on those players. Not that he's done badly...just nothing special.

  4. In the last 30years 4 different Scottish Clubs have reached major European finals, considering Scotland is a tiny nation in Europe if you ask me they are punching well above their weight Aberdeen beat Real Madrid in the ECW final 1983 Gothenburg beat Dundee Utd in the UEFA final 1987 Porto beat Celtic in the UEFA final 2003 Zenit beat Rangers in the UEFA final 2008 All Scottish clubs reached their finals in a 10/12 club premier league, the problem is not the size of the league its the money in the game going to the bigger nations dougal

  5. 100% approval from me Yngwie IMO one of the few positives so far this season, I just find it surprising its taken the club this long to sort out the event, think most of us realise that the departure of Grant Munro is the main reason why we now have the worst defence in the SPL I'll certainly attend the game but I will give the dinner a miss I don't want to be bored to tears by members of the ICT supporters trust All the best Grant and Russel you both fully deserve the recognition dougal

  6. Golobart going back to Wigan would certainly be a positive IMO , I know that sounds harsh but I honestly don't think the lad is ready for the frantic style of Scottish football his match losing mistakes in the few games he's played already back this up I'm afraid there will be more of these howlers before he adapts to the Scottish game, having said that what could he have possibly learnt at Wigan which is a rugby league town? He's certainly won't have learnt anything from Gary Caldwell other than how NOT to defend, maybe thats the style we are seeing? dougal

  8. Having watched the highlights can only but praise Tade for his efforts but needs to work on his finishing when one on one with goalies as he seems to get them all the time which is brilliant. IMHO easy chip over goalie for first chance, the ball was bouncing nicely and sitting up for him. Also think Ryan needs to do a bit of work with his positioning, beaten low down into the corner again for first goal. Perhaps I am being harsh, but that's the way I sees it.
