  1. Best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most joyous traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, but with respect for the religious persuasion of others who choose to practice their own religion as well as those who choose not to practice a religion at all; Additionally, a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2012, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions have helped make our society great, without regard to the race, creed, color, religious, or sexual preferences of the wishes. (Disclaimer: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.)

  2. A "source" from the SPL advised,"Supporters wishing to use the safe standing areas will be required to participate in a 2 day safe standing course which clubs will run on a monthly basis supervised by representatives from the health and safety executive. Supporters will learn safe jumping heights currently set by European advisers at 10 cm except in certain circumstances where 15 cm is permissible if a harness is attached to a fixed point,Advanced standing courses will be available for supporters wishing to stand and wave scarves simultaneously, but it is expected to take several seasons before these are available at all grounds" Don't think there will be any danger to spectators standing as they will be well protected by the amount of red tape surrounding the implementation of any "safe standing" area, the problem with the whole thing is ,by the time it becomes a reality , I will be so old i'll want a seat by then :irritated:

  3. I would hope that ICT will park its erse firmly in the middle of the SPL - in a position where we move away promptly from the relegation mire and are in a position to regularly challenge for a Top Six place. Before I go to meet my maker - which of course could be still hundreds of years ahead - I would like to park my ample posterior at Hampden Park on a Cup Final day and sit on a seat in a foreign land watching ICT play in a recognised European Cup game - whatever the feckin level. Feck me forgot it was feckin Crimbo. Dear Santa, Remember me - I am yon wee Scottish Elf professional. I would like ICT to park its bottome firmly in the middle of the SPL - in a position where we move away promptly from the relegation mire and are in a position to regularly challenge for a Top Six place. Before I go to meet my maker - which of course could be still hundreds of years ahead - I would like to park my ample posterior at Hampden Park on a Cup Final day and sit on a seat in a foreign land watching ICT play in a recognised European Cup game - whatever the level. Yours in anticipation, IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER

  5. To all friends, stalkers, devotees and admiring detractors on CaleyThistleOnline Merry Feckin Xmas and a Happy Feckin New Year ?Life has taught us that love and respect does not consist in gazing at and agreeing with each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction, irrespective of personal views? Thought you would all also appreciate a personalised phottie greeting:

  6. It all depends on how you define 100% fit - Richie is getting "old" in footballing terms, especially at SPL level. He will never be 100% fit in terms of his peak condition. But at 80% he can still outplay the majority of the squad - becos he simply has the experience and he moves in to positions automatically and thinks the game rather than headless chicken style. From a psychological angle he sets high standards for himself - possibly too high - and I suspect that he sets high standards for his team mates - now that isnt always the best characteristic for a captain as such individuals can become easily frustrated if they dont reach that standard and Richie is clearly one who voices his opinion. Unfortunately I also suspect that he has dished out some "abuse" to others when it may have been his "fault" because he aint the player that he was 5 years ago - but feck me - I have seen him move in to some great positions and be let down by some individuals who have the required pace, effort and committment but not the requisite skill or vision. But his experience and vision is probably why Terry probably has him down as his one of his first picks - would you do in a playground scenario ? Foran has never been used to assuming the role of leadership. Perhaps he is learning and again Butcher should be a model teacher. Perhaps he is improving as he learns the "ropes" of appreciative leadership, leads by examples and accepts that he is NEVER going to be the 100% Richie Foran of old. And his best performance was for Carlisle versus Huddersfield when he displayed dentistry as well as footballing prowess.

  8. Can't believe we lost it tbh. But so happy with the performance. They had their chances as well, so maybe a fairer score line would have been 4-4! We played some wonderful flowing football. Regarding the shot cleared off the line - I do not believe it went over. I was right in line with it and it looked like it was cleared bang on the line - I didn't shout for it anyway. One negative point I need to mention though. When Rangers went 1-0 up, a few folk started singing 'we are going down' and the song that really pi55es me off 'He's one of our own, he's one of our own, Grant Munro'. This is detremntal to the current squad. They do not need this, when they are in a relegation battle. I sang it at the end of the season as I wanted Butcher to change his mind. He didn't. Now, the song should be dead. But every away game anyway, I hear it being sung by a minority. Lets keep behind the team - the current team!!!!

  9. Tempted and all as I am to single out individual posters (who don't seem to have a problem singling out individual players) I cannot believe that anyone can slate Ritchie Foran's performance yesterday. He was immense and led the team in a role which suited him to perfection. The commentators and Sunday press had him as man of the match, in a losing side, yet the detractors are still out with the long knives, get a grip and give the man some well deserved credit.

  11. You lot should learn not to mock too soon - as per usual I may have got this one right again - and how many other posters would have encouraged this forum to welcome a newcomer with the gift of green dots in double figures.
