  2. Back By Popular Demand The ICT (NON) Travel Club Users of the Travel Club bus and those who attended the evening last time around have indicated a desire for us to, once again, take the game to the Fans and provide a get together for those unable to travel for the Dundee Utd fixture on Monday 5th March. Match Kick Off is at 7:45pm, but you are welcome to come along earlier to secure your seat and have a few drinks pre-match. In order to do this we will be hosting a night at the ICT Social Club where fans can come along and watch the game together. As before....No "you must sit" rules will be in operation and you can even enjoy a drink while taking in the game. And yes, we will be doing FREE PIES again Open to everyone. No Age Restrictions. No charge for entry. No need to book or get tickets. Just turn up on the night. So as nobody misses out on a qualifying trip for the Travel Club Italy Trip Draw then anyone who already has a qualifying trip who attends will be credited with 1 additional qualifying trip (make sure to add your name to the register on the night). CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO ON THE ITALY TRIP DRAW For those looking to travel to the game, see for the Travel Thread

  3. Your story regarding Caldwell is typical of the attempts to justify mediocrity and a clear example of why players are the problem not the solution. Caldwell could quite easily have come out and said: 'Despite the fact that others in the club are being paid a ridiculous amount of money that is ludicrous, I am more than happy to continue my career on a mere £400k plus bonuses. Perhaps others within the game may chose to follow my example.' He didn't. He, like the rest of them, demanded obscene money and justified (as you are doing) by saying it is the same as everyone else. Until a player of intelligence and stature has the gumption to come out make a stance our game will continue in the same manner. Sad. Equally, as long as intelligent supporters like you seek excuses for players behaviour we are doomed. There was (and rightly so) a public clamour for bankers to be denied bonuses which led to Stephen Hester refusing in excess of a £1m. I see little difference in the behaviour of fat cat bankers and fat cat footballers. In the vast majority of cases they are delivering a sub standard product and lining their own pockets at the expense of the masses. Equally, in both cases, they have apologists. I am not one. What your post also highlights is how incorrect I was in stating that average players can earn in excess of £500 kpa. Caldwell earned in excess of £1 million if you are correct!

  4. For a start, I'd like an announcer that can get ICT's players names right. Gnakpa is pronounced Nappa and Owain Tudur Jones, is not Owen Tudor Jones, it's pronounced O-Wine Tid-Ear Jones!

  5. Money corrupts. Caldwell was still earning big money. £8,000 a week on a 3 year contract and he's earned more than many hard working men and women earn in a lifetime - and he's doing what he loves. My heart bleeds for the poor exploited soul. He chose to leave to earn even more money somewhere else. I'm not saying I blame him if it was offered on a plate to him elsewhere, but it was his choice and he chose the money.

  6. On the seeing and experiencing it side, maybe we could ask the safe standing roadshow to come up to Inverness before the end of the season. If we allowed them to put up their railseat prototype outside the ground before a SPL fixture this would allow fans to view and try it out. Then we could properly gauge the popularity of safe standing at TCS after that. http://www.safestandingroadshow.co.uk/

  7. Players are the principle culprits. Greed has gone beyond belief and the money within the game now remains within control of a chosen few. When you here stories about how much the European Cup finalists of the 60s, 70s and 80s were earning in comparison to the average person it shows you clearly just how obscene our game has become nowadays. Run of the mill footballers who will achieve little in the game can easily earn in excess of £500 kpa. Could only stop when we stop going and, more importantly, stop buying TV packages and merchandising. That won't happen. Could only stop when the players say they are willing to, collectively, cap their earnings in return for investment in grass roots football. That won't happen. Will only stop when the elite have total domination, the others run on a hobby basis and it becomes the pastime of the chosen few. This is happening now. Jumpers for goalposts anyone?

  8. I'd rather wait until the 25th anniversary for any commemorative top. The blue home and red and black away top is not a good idea and never will be IMO, we are ICT not 2 Highland League teams anymore. We should be celebrating the red and blue stripes - that is ICT. I do like the idea of an embellished crest on the tops that year tho, that is a good idea.

  9. Nah, not normally, just a supporter wondering where the club is going, not much to ask!

  11. I believe the (potential) investment is a bit more involved than just throwing some cash into the club and discussions are still ongoing. Can't argue with your assessment of the clubs progress (or lack thereof), but not convinced that the training facilities etc we use are the cause of the injury glut. Most of our injuries have been caused by heavy challenges and stuff during games and some of them have been things like shoulder injuries and stuff which are just freak scenarios. I actually believe that pampering players too much can cause more problems than expecting them to rough it a little. Kenny Cameron is club Chairman, and as far a I am aware he is not a land developer....even if he was I don't think it right to just expect him or someone else to just hand over land. Given how much ICT have done to put Inverness on the map, it might be more appropriate to suggest that the City themselves do something to assist the club with a better training surface that's slightly closer to home and has some basic facilities.
