  1. Fair report, I think. Mckay had a good debut - I hadn't realised he could play RB as well as CH, sensible signing from Foran - and Tremarco also played well. Agree about Vigurs too - before he pinged in that fantastic shot, I was screaming for Foran to hook him after his umpteenth misplaced forward pass; sometimes it looked like he wasn't even looking up before passing. He does have that ability pull a goal out of nowhere though, and in a team that still looks like it's going to struggle to create and score many chances, that is a valuable asset. The most encouraging thing for me was the way we competed throughout and never let Aberdeen get control of the game: having been at the Partick, County, Alloa and Hearts games, but not the St Johnstone one, I was worried by how uncharacteristically meek and off the pace we looked, but yesterday we were pretty commanding in the centre of the park and closed down well. Although I would never boo him myself, I don't think the Shinnie booing was terribly serious, and the 'You're just a **** Carl Tremarco' made me laugh. The other stuff you mention is poor though: the stewards were ridiculously OTT after the equaliser, which just succeeded in winding up the supporters, but that doesn't justify it, and it's not something I've seen before; hopefully it doesn't start creeping in, as I do like the fact that we can, at almost every away game, go into the same pubs and mingle with opposing supporters without any bother.

  2. Funny isn't it how some fans get so into their football team so much that they think that goading opposing fans makes them more of a supporter. If you want to be a 'bigger fan' get in touch with the club and see if they could do with a hand with anything.

  3. Overall a good performance, I thought Aberdeen created a bit more in the final third and had a few really good chances but our defence held strong and are starting to look a lot more composed unit, MacKay at RB is an improvement on Horner and the faltering Raven, he could make that his permanent position going forwards. Another great Draper performance today and a fantastic finish from Vigurs, although I do still feel he is slow at build up play and often stops the game too dead and brings pace out of our attacks at times. Good to see Doran come on and he certainly showed some good touches. Definately signs of improvement although Celtic may be a much stronger test that the Dons, where the strength and ariel ability of Doumbaye may edge it over Fisher but today both played well. Sad to see the antics of the younger fans or 'singing section' today, abuse shouted about Shinnie and cheering his injury, arguing with stewards then on leaving the stadium throwing metal secuirty barriers and signs about, then shouting abuse at Aberdeen fans (including those with children) on the walk back into town. When I approached one of them regarding throwing barriers around suggesting its not a good image for our club I was told 'we dont care'. Well I do, this club has worked hard and I believe have a good relationship with all rival fans therefore dont want this to start being affected by the minority or having fans put off attending away games. While some may say its only barriers and signs or just fun, I see it as a lack of respect of others property and surroundings, so after issues with behaviour at the St J game and now this, its maybe time to reign the behaviour back in as its not welcome.

  15. Bottom line is that we are going to be a small fish in most manufacturer's ponds because we simply dont have the volume of sales to make us a priority. Having said that, it should not be a challenge to place an order, receive assurances on delivery dates, and then receive the stock in a timely fashion for club and fans alike. Errea had their moments, including shutting down the factory every year for a few weeks for the traditional Italian holiday in the middle of summer in what (to us) seems like prime manufacturing time, but this mob are really taking the piss ! They have history - mostly from this year and last - if you google it, and we really should tell them to stick future contracted years where the sun dont shine. There is no point partnering with a merchant who has a retail outlet to sell our stuff if they cant f****** stock the damn stuff in the first place. Not advocating a return to Errea, but a deal with a reputable manufacturer, known to produce good quality merchandise on time should not be too much for us to ask of the club and the club to ask from any manufacturer. The club should look to have the new strip revealed before the end of season (to build or maintain momentum and/or generate some interest over summer) and have it in the club shop around the same time as season ticket renewals so supporters can have it for the summer holidays and wear it with pride on their travels, maybe even give a discount when its bought with the season ticket. I see Adidas supply many small teams in Scotland and most of these big manufacturers already mentioned can also do something off the shelf or moderately custom in a quick turnaround according to their websites. I have no idea of our commercial arrangements with Errea or with JD/Carbrini and what costs/benefits we got from either relationship but it certainly seems that all we are getting at the moment is lost sales, grief, and potential sponsor reticence to put their name to a top that doesn't arrive in the shop in reasonable quantities until late in the year ....

  16. RiG makes a very valid point. The Chairman is very accessible and approachable and already has a considerable track record for making himself available on a one-to-one to fans with issues to discuss. As for the AGM, that's usually a pretty small, brief and staid affair that's unlikely to be a happy hunting ground for an anti-acronym insurgency. Things have changed a great deal since the Rose Street Hall!

  17. There has been a lot of talk about red dots these days - far more than you would expect from a forum full of what is primarily adults, most of whom have the intelligence to support Caley Thistle - and it is clear we need to change how we do this. I get mail about this all the time and it constantly amazes me that some folk get their jollies by red dotting someone because of who they are or how they will react rather than the post itself, or that someone who knows their post is somewhat controversial or goes against the grain gets outraged themselves when a flurry of red dots appear. Ultimately, the decision will lie with myself and the moderators as it is us who have to deal with some of the childish actions and re-actions of those who dish them out and who receive them but there are basically three choices available to us that I am considering recommending to the mods. Facebook style "like" system. Maintain current system but allow users to see who voted them up/down. Allow positive votes only. The 4th option (allowing negative votes only) is not on the table. We have previously used the like system and this does work but we have never used the 'positive votes only' or the option to make all voting visible to all users so not sure about these. I welcome feedback from everyone - provided it is constructive - and will make a decision in conjunction with the mods in due course.
