  1. As far as I am concerned I have both praised and criticised the Board. My perception is that it is mainly the CJT names that are making most of the negative criticism and encouraging some others to criticise with no clear rationale or understanding of business. And just look at who has overreacted !! This forum lives on speculation, rumour and personal opinions. Long may it last. I just wish that the vultures would ignore the scraps every now and then and announce that they are not feeding on raw grizzle and advise the flock of seagulls to retreat.
  2. Nobody should expect too much too soon. The organisation has not been functioning properly for a very long time. There is no point in attempting to ascribe blame for that now. The first task of the new board is to get it's domestic house in order and, after so much chaos for so long, we need to cut them some slack and allow them at least a couple of meetings to get their feet under the table before getting on with the more serious business. There is much to do but it's important this time that it's dine properly. If that means waiting for a few months then so be it.
  3. Wow! To be honest I suspect few people on this forum can have any doubt that you have a bit of a beef with the the current board! ....But I don't think it's that hard to see that Gary Warren might benefit at 34 by having a two year contract with someone else (unless it's on a peppercorn rate!) against the 1 year he had left with ICT. Your point about ANY player getting injured is irrevelant since I'm talking about GW, it's not hard to see that should GW had suffered a bad injury in his final year with us then when nearing 35 next year getting another contract could be tricky, so he now has the benefit of two years pay. I'm sure had he stayed with ICT he would have featured during the season, however with Robbo securing a right back and with Mckay, Donaldson and Tremarco all on extended contracts beyond GW's it's possible to envisage those four being the regular back line (and with McCart available too). TBH I'm neither pro-this-board, nor anti-the-old-board, either set have made mistakes and the current one will still do so, still at least ICT aren't going into the new season with one fit striker like Palace did last year (you can imagine the flak the CPFC board got for that!), any football board gets few thanks if ticket prices go up, or results are bad, or signings don't materialise, the manager isn't sacked etc etc. And I'm not naive, I understand situations are manipulated by either side when it suits them.
  4. I hope someone told jagster he could have brought his own pie as well
  5. 1 point
Don’t think we’ll get away with that one in competitive fixtures!
  6. Ah but we all topped up our Vit D levels...lol As it was a public park at the Fort a carryoot was permitted ?
  7. Play-off place should be within our grasp and we should feel disappointed if we don't get that far. 9 points from the opening 3 games looks achievable and then let's see where a good start takes us. Not too bothered about any of the cups next season although I do think our Irn-Bru run did help the lads out of the doldrums last year. A cup run can put extra pressure on limited resources but it does wonders for confidence and momentum.
  8. Wouldn't be the first Horatio to play football in Inverness.
  9. Yep dinner at the mosset then onto the game.
  10. It was a statement of my personal opinion. I never named names. But it appears that I am far from being the sole discerner. I have criticised the board as their handling of social media and fan engagement has been dire. As I alluded to they had more pressing tasks to attend to first and hopefully now that will commence. My wish was and is that CJT will provide a strong voice and this will not be a turkey shoot as it has been for some time. My concern is that divisions and personal suspicions may have developed on BOTH sides and there simply has to be more give and take. Nothing wrong with having a pop with a rationale but adding a more positive observation in there as well.
  11. You might want to discuss this at your next meeting! Nothing you say is untrue, but the concept of being a "representative" - in most Western democracies, such as our Parliaments - means that you are empowered to use your own judgement in trying to do the best for those whom you represent. You are not a delegate, sent to vote a particular way. Yes, you should listen to the supporters, but in some cases it may be that you as a Board member, and indeed the CJT Board, may take a formal position which is different from what you believe the majority of members may want. I can't think of a specific example, but it's quite possible that you might end up supporting, or not opposing, or not speaking against, some unpopular action taken by the ICT Board, even if the majority of members were apparently against it. You are, as you say, democratically accountable to the membership. Just like MPs, you are empowered to take your own decisions, and if the membership don't like what you do, then they will periodically have a chance to vote you out! I offer this as a constructive observation, as I think that it's very important for you all to achieve a common understanding of your powers and goals, and policies and strategies, before you set out on what will probably be a rocky road. I wish you all the best of luck!
  12. In my opinion, a play off place is achievable, if we get off to a good start, and not have to play catch up the rest of the season like last term, and as long as we beat the teams we are supposed to be better than in the cups, that would be an acceptable season to me, anything better would be a bonus.
  13. Now that was quick. The Yeovil Board have introduced Gary in his new role.
  14. While it might be disappointing, I fail to see how failing to retain the Irn Bru Cup could ever be remotely classed as a disaster.
  15. What's the big deal? It's a friendly so a big crowd is unlikely regardless of when it takes place, and it gives our team a work out against a higher quality side than the others we are playing in advance of the Betfred Cup starting.
  16. The Board, to my mind , have so far been putting their house in order, they have made some improvements to a number of measures that have been neglected for a very long time. They have recruited personnel they know they can trust to support their aims and ambitions, surely this must hold promise for the future? Perhaps at this moment in time we are not receiving the amount of communication we expected but we are getting every bit as much if not more than we have done from the previous board that was in office. Immortal H E mentions the political undercurrent that is having a diverse effect on the support, I fully agree with this and as he says working together not division is the way up. Perhaps doing so on this forum will be a start. Rather than some of the devious and subversive digs and comments made by some on here which are divisive to the Supporters it would be good to get back the togetherness element Certainly CJT should be working towards that too, certainly if there is criticism to be made their voice should be heard but through consultation with the Board rather than by public outcry I
  17. Ah, I seem to have set the cat among the pigeons here, I wonder why ? My post is in no way offensive, merely a summarising of what in my opinion I have read into what has recently been arising in this forum in general. All it is, is a call for positive unity (togetherness) from the posters on here, surely that is a much better way of helping the Club than decrying it ? My reference re. CJT is entirely a suggestion to the same effect, merely a suggestion, is that putting the boot in ??? I think not Caley D. Perhaps though you know best and don't want any interference to your thoughts on how to improve relations with the Club and Supporters. In which case I shall refrain from further comment in future regarding this. You have however made me think twice and possibly others about joining the organisation if it is not to be run in a democratic fashion.
