It was notable on Saturday how most of the players raised their game on Sat probably due to the encouragement instead of negativity from the stands.
  2. A marked improvement on our Alloa performance and some solid performances all over the park. Mark Ridgers really has gone from strength to strength after a relatively shaky start last season and had a couple of wonder saves on Saturday which got us out of jail. Perhaps a draw was a fair result but I left the ground thinking they were very much there for the taking. Disappointing to see so many empty seats on the highlights, felt busier than it looked in the North Stand and a good atmosphere throughout. Roll on 29th December up at Dingwall. Got to kick on now and start turning these draws into wins

Unfortunately same old story of people taking on jobs they don't seem to know anything about and trying to bluff their way through. I'm afraid our problems are deeper than just the online shop.

County took the lead against the run of play and immediately the young lads started a Caley chant. Two minutes later Oakley stuck the ball in the back of the net. That's what proper support does for you.

It doesn't exactly instill confidence in prospective investors to the club or those wishing to do business with us if we can't promote or market our own products in a successful manner. Unfortunately the culture seems to be by relying on word of mouth. In this day in age, any business no matter how small or big it is needs to utilise every possible tool available to it and to the maximum, no half hearted attempts. Either do it properly or not at all as what has been shown looks very amateurish. Every business experiences issues but it's how you communicate and portray yourself under these pressures that sets you apart from others.
  6. Have to say Rooney took his goal well! That's three for the season now (better going forward than defending perhaps?). Given how things started last season it's good to see how Ridgers, Oakley and Calder have grown in the fans affections as being decent players. Donaldson has questions marks against him when he first came but dispelled that pretty quickly...I still rather wish we had been able to keep Bell as I think he did offer something different up front.

They've taken their sweet time to sort out their site. It was what, mid/late September the site went down for Host Migration or whatever, and little of the stuff we had originally is there, we lack the shop, a decent player list, opponents list (detailing every single team we've played), the list goes on.
  8. A hugely entertaining game where we outplayed our opponents who were packed with Premiership players earning twice what our players are on or more. How on earth did Doran miss that chance towards the end ? Anyway, loads of positives to take from today. The only negative being that the crowd was two thousand fewer than attended the first derby of the season in Dingwall. If the good folk of Inverness want to retain full time football they really need to support the club with more enthusiasm. No lack of support and enthusiasm though from those who were there especially those in the North Stand outsigning the visitors at the opposite end. Onwards and upwards.
  9. I would have taken a draw before the game but gutted we didn't win that. We were the better side and showed a lot more desire but didn't quite get the breaks going our way. Great team effort. Keep that up and we should break our run of draws with a win next time up.

Couldn't disagree more with this. We all go through periods where we benefit from a little bit of a motivational pick-me-up....be that in work, or just day to day life. It happens for various reasons, but as often as not it's because people lack a little belief in themselves and doubt starts to creep in...the more you focus on it, the deeper you get into the hole. I've been doing an NLP and Life Coaching Diploma with a guy called Don MacNaughton. I first met Don when he used to come in and work with ICTFC players during Terry Butcher's time at the club...and there are few who could argue that Terry didn't get the best from his players when here...so the evidence that working on the mental aspect of things with players is beneficial and there for all to see. Many of the larger clubs (and an increasing number of not so large clubs) do regular sessions of this nature with players, and an increasing number are working with players at a young age. This means that more among future generations of players will have the tools to help themselves with the mental aspect of the game, but it won't be with everyone and unless a club are developing it themselves and/or signing players who've been at clubs who do...then many aren't going to have it as part of their arsenal. If a club isn't investing in a third party to undertake mental coaching, then it's even more important that the manager (or coaches) undertake the role of motivator. That's not a judgement on what Robbo and the staff are or aren't doing at present; and whilst I'd be concerned if they weren't doing something in this area, I don't actually know if they are or not. Personally...In the last 20 months I've gone from being a 31.5 stone heart attack waiting to happen, to a far happier 19 stone (and dropping) bloke who's got a chance of making it beyond his 45th birthday. I didn't need to be taught how to get off my ass, go for a walk/run/cycle or how to count calories (although I did do a 6 week gym based bootcamp)...but I did need a bit of help to develop the mental habits and exercises that are helping me become a better version of myself...on all fronts.

I think I shouted abuse at Dougie Imrie when he got sent off in the challenge cup final, he ran on the pitch, kicked someone and then ran off - an absolute tantrum of a performance. When it comes to White, again i can't comment on him specifically as I've not been at games this season but generally two types of player attract a lot of abuse from the stands - targetmen strikers and holding midfielders. Holding midfielders do a job that's unflashy and often isn't even about them possessing the ball, it's about their positioning etc, so their contributions can be missed (Russell Duncan the prime example of this for us). Big targetmen strikers give teams a great option in terms of going direct and pose a problem from set plays. One reason that they get abused is often they look ungainly, they play scrappy and aren't prolific goalscorers. If White can be an effective targetman then he'll be a big asset for us and if he can chip in a goal every other game then he'll be vital.

Past teams and goals scored for them is irrelevant to current season. The only thing that matters is current form. According to ICTFC website he has 14 appearances with 4 goals scored that's one goal every 3.5 games or one goal every 315 mins assuming he's played full 90 mins every match. So not the one every two game ratio. If this has not been updated since last night then it's 5 in 15. 1 goal every 3 games or every 270 mins again assuming he's played full 90 mins per match. For this to be our best striker it is not going to get us a play off place. He's also played 6 games more than Oakley who has scored 3 goals and 5 more than Austin who has also scored 3 goals.
