League cup is still a great cup. Especially for a team like us. I like the group stages as it gives you a chance to play a fair few teams you wouldn’t usually play.
  2. I always wondered why he played wide midfield for us. He looked like a natural striker to me. Having been out of the game at a higher level for a number of years, I don't know that he would cut it here any more. Perhaps take him as a squad player but I wouldn't want to pay a fee for him.

It's the third most important tournament in the country and very worth doing well in for all sorts of reasons not least early season momentum and confidence building. I didn't regard it as a Mickey Mouse competition when I was sitting at Parkhead with my head in my hands after losing out on penalties to Aberdeen and I don't regard it as a Mickey Mouse competition now.
  4. No conspiracy against us we were hammered fair and square our own fault for not taking chances we had ! Enough of the pure drivel bout refs been against us embarrassing leave that gash for the old firm fans!
  5. Conspiracy theories. Jesus. Its like message boards for west coast clubs on here these days. Decisions go both ways but most folks only remember the poor ones. Simply this year had we played better in some games and had less draws or better concentration in latter stages of the games we wouldn't have been in the play-offs. There may be the odd contentious decision but over the course of 42 games we failed to be good enough to gain promotion to the Premiership.

Happy for St Midden, they deserved it more, but disappointed that we'll have to face the tangerine tw@ts again next season. Would like to have seen the back of them but it does give us 4 opportunities to stick it right up 'em next year!
  7. I, for one, am not a bit bothered about the two Dundee sides, they will be so busy trying to do each other the dirty that they will lose sight of the other teams. What we now have to concentrate on is our finishing and taking the chances we create, we failed to do this quite miserably last season and I expect Robbo will be concentrating on this aspect of our game in the new pre-season and beyond. I look forward to watching a much more accomplished and confident side performing at home and away which will ultimately put more bums on seats at the stadium.
  8. Disagree we choked the semi final at the National stadium as we never played well at all as a team That did not happen in the playoffs at all imo
  9. Or Fashing trip... Glad to see the back of him. He was hopeless. At least you get 100% from big Jordan, even if his second touch is a tackle ?
  10. Have to agree, when I see the officials glad handing each other before the game you get the impression they think they are the main participants rather than bit part players. It's clear many of them have never played at any level and some of their decisions are worthy of derision. Some are downright corrupt such as the referee for the Korea v Italy world cup match who had clearly been told by FIFA that Korea were to get through. he was later imprisoned for smuggling drugs possibly set up by the mafia.

Not getting at you IHE but frankly ever since the European place for winning the league cup was withdrawn I have zero interest in this mickey mouse competition which was once the worst attended professional competition possibly in the world, I would use it to blood youngsters as AF did at Man Utd.
