  2. Can a moderator close this topic? Or move it to general nonsense? The less said the better on this one.

  4. In common with Mantis, I too seriously considered closing this thread and I agree that some of the posts are not only embarrassing to read but are disgraceful. However,I remain, on balance, of the opinion that the thread is a valid one and, for now at least, the thread should remain open for reasoned debate.

  6. Congratulations to Harrogate Town for winning England's National League play of final and, next season, playing league football for the first time in their history. They join Northampton Town and Wycombe Wanderers in being promoted, through play offs through leagues that had otherwise been abandoned. The same option was available to the SPFL which would at least have added a bit more fairness to our truncated season but, as always short sightedness and narrow self interest prevailed over fairness and sporting integrity. For what it's worth, I would have made the same point even if ICT hadn't finished the season in a play off position.

  8. Big difference between Black lives matter and the organisation BLM. We need to be careful. I fully support any anti racist stance the club may propose however I won't support anything with links to BLM. If there is a BLM event at the club I and possibly other will not support the event, this does not mean we are racist but that we don't support BLM. However it could be twisted by others as being racist. Its a minefield now a days when it comes to peoples opinions.

  9. While I do agree that it would be a good idea, in some senses, I'd rather not give light to the BLM organisation itself. Their motives are all there, Black lives do matter and something needs to be done about fixing inequality, but the way they go about trying to do it, it's just a big no no. All the group seems to be is an organized riot movement, early days, it was alright, all peaceful protests, but then they got bored and started burning and looting then screaming about being (rightfully) arrested for their crimes, and it's all gone to pot from there on out. Thankfully it's not been as bad as it has been in the US (London is a close exception). I'm fully on board with having something to show more recognition to these players, but it'd probably be a bad move to associate ourselves with a group that's renowned for rioting and trying to silence anyone who calls them out on their actions.

  10. My thoughts on the stadium and crowd have been vented before but it is outwith the clubs remit...kind of. A lot of grounds, including the big one's, lost a lot of atmosphere when all seater stadia was made law. Bring back the terraces so we can all mix together and jump up and down and sing thus creating an atmosphere

  11. I couldn't care less about the stadium aesthetics or bushes. That won't bring back fans. The match day experience will. At the moment its a souless experience for all involved with fans and sometimes players just going through the motions. Atmosphere doesn't just happen. Sometimes it needs a bit of a nudge. Regarding the stands. It's the chicken and egg stuff the Gardiner was talking about. We need to attract fans first and foremost. Increasing the number of home fans provides a consistent increased revenue. Away fans are then a bonus, not a necessity.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.
