Was browsing the Courier website when I came across a couple of articles on our former chairman and benefactor David Sutherland. Written by experienced journalist Val Sweeney, They are well worth a read. I am sure he has a few stories to tell, at least some of which might involve encountering the late @IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER on some of the away days when we organised get togethers back when he was chairman. However, it is sad to read that he himself might not remember these at some point in future now that he has made it known he has been struggling with dementia since it was diagnosed 4 years ago. We are lucky that we have had people at our club like David Sutherland throughout the years whether it was Dougie McGillvray, Ken Thompson, Kenny Cameron and of course now Alan Savage. Without those benefactors and the emotional as well as business involvement they gave to the club, all we might have right now is those memories or some form of Phygital presence on the internet. DFS was, in my opinion, a great chairman. Some liked him, some did not, but I was lucky to spend time with him, Kenny and Ken back in the day as they sought to protect and run the club in much the way Alan Savage has navigated similar waters more recently and got us back to a similar mindset of fiscal responsibility and stability. DFS steered us through tough times in his own way, not always making friends, but always I believe having the club's interests at heart. I/We wish him well in his ongoing health battles now and in the future. 2. Overall a well deserved win in difficult conditions against a Stenny team who I thought were a disgrace at times with their play acting and what looked like a desire to inflict injury on some of our players. I wish we were more direct at times as playing out from the back could have cost us dear. We’d a strong penalty claim turned down but I thought our second half performance merited the win. It could prove pivotal in the title race as well as earning us a few more pounds in the semi and the chance of making the final.

Why don’t we have an ICT TV channel like other clubs? I’ve watched a few games this season on other clubs channels and the standard has been really impressive. Most recently at Alloa the quality of the footage, camera angles and commentary were superb. Even compared to our highlights package it was night and day. I was at the Partick match but noticed their stream was £10 while a match ticket was £12, which feels about right and accessible. Alloa’s setup was £25 for a month, which obviously only covers one game for me, but it still felt worthwhile. What are the actual barriers stopping us from having an ICT TV channel like other clubs in our league? Given how well other clubs are doing it, and how good the fan engagement side seems to be, it feels like something that could work. Especially for away fans and those who can’t always travel.

You know this went viral? First of all on the net - search for something like "AI bald football linesman" - but then in the real, serious AI community. It has been viewed and discussed at AI conferences!
  5. Delighted, yes, and well done but more important than progressing in the challenge cup is that to have lost tonight could have been devastating for morale in the league in terms of “we never beat stennie”… now our boys know they can…. Onwards and upwards we (hopefully) continue to go

Not sure if we’re talking at cross purposes. Plenty noises from the fans but we can’t lift the ban unilaterally afaik as the EPL and EFL would have to sanction it.
  7. SECOND HALF: They reinforced the angry man attitude when Scott McGill got his birthday card from the referee, booked in the first minute after the break. Calum MacLeod ended a good burst forward with a disappointing effort that missed the target. Surprise surprise, Gregor Buchanan followed McGill into the book. Paul Allan headed a Willox cross over before Willox departed around the hour to be replaced by Alfie Bavidge. A goalline clearance by Finlay Gray kept the scores level. The substitutes flowed from the hour with Chanka Zimba and Dale Carrick amongst others entering the field. And it was substitute Alfie Bavidge that opened the scoring with seventeen minutes remaining after his first effort was deflected behind for a corner. Following the corner Alfie shot high into the net from inside the box to put the hosts ahead after the keeper made a hash of trying to clear Paul Allan's corner kick, the ball bouncing off a ruck of players allowing Alfie to spin and lash the ball high into the net from six yards. Into time added on Zimba held up for Jordan Alonge to get a shot away with keeper Jamieson saving well. With no further scoring Inverness move into the semi-finals to await the winner of St Johnstone v Ayr United which was postponed tonight.
  8. First Half: So, looks like seven changes from the win over Alloa and just the three for the Warriors as the game got underway in Arctic tundra conditions. First moment of danger came from the visitors when Ross Meechan's header went awry off a cross into the box. The early posturing came from the Warriors and Finlay Gray's inviting ball just evaded Matty Aitken. In his first start, Kieron Willox was first to make a keeper work after linking up with Billy Mckay, but it was Jamieson that won this battle as he pulled off a one on one with the loanee from Stoke. At the other end Finlay Gray slalomed past three defenders with Ross Munro denying him with a reflex save. Willox looking interested in the early stages for the Caley Jags with Finlay Gray doing likewise for Stenhousemuir. Midway through the half Oscar MacIntyre was on the end of Longstaff's dangerous cross into the box but Jamieson was able to smother his effort. The visitors were totting up their corner corner count some ten minutes before the break, something we would do well to stop conceding as it can often be a cause for concern, Archie Graham heading narrowly wide from one such occasion when he could just as easily have opened the scoring. Half a dozen corners to Stenny, but in time added on, we won our first corner only for David Wotherspoon's header to be blocked and the half ended without a goal. HALF TIME: 0-0

Who could forget the baldy linesman who looked more like the ball to the pixellot camera than the ball itself, resulting in much of the action being missed as the camera focussed on said linesman? 😂 Eventually though, the coverage became quite good and I subscribed to pretty much all the home games. Once covid had subsided and we conquered our fears of crowds, normality returned and regrettably, the streaming service was removed. There's a fine line between significantly decreasing matchday attendances and generating income from streaming - I'd think that an awful lot of supporters who normally satisfy themselves with watching the score updates on the BBC or whatever, would happily pay a tenner or so (or even a season subscription) to watch the game live streamed. Likewise supporters who live far from Inverness, or even those who don't fancy sitting in a cold stand for 2 hours on a winter afternoon or evening. If it was available, I'd certainly be up for it. Get Andy back!

Maybe slightly off topic but is there any local radio coverage that those of us further afield might be able to tap into online? I'd settle for a regular "radio" feed if TV isn't possible.

I was lucky enough to be involved with the media team pre-covid when we did the audio commentary for games; during Covid Andy, who ran the operation, did a test run of broadcasting a game against Dundee on a live stream which was successful (I was doing commentary for the test and I even got to look at replays on a monitor to my left!). But of course Scot Gardiner knew better and insisted on Pixellot and his own commentator. I haven't spoken to Andy for a long while but I think he took a step away from things some time back? If the club got him back involved and just let him do his thing he'd put together a package as good as any other club at this level is putting out.

My seat is in the top tier in the main stand and find it reasonably sheltered from the wind and always sheltered from the rain. An issue with streaming is that clubs can’t stream games that kick off at 1500 on Saturdays to anyone in the UK. However, this was a question asked at the Fans Meeting earlier in the season, with the club advising they were exploring options and the legalities surrounding it. The full meeting summary is here: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/post/summary-of-fans-meeting-16-aug-2025
