Hi allWith the new season just round the corner, the NAPs competition will start again on the weekend of Saturday 1st August.We've struggled for numbers over recent years so I am hoping that we can attract more people to take part making it more entertaining for all. Mostly, everyone tries to stay in the black and not end up bankrupt, a simple game becomes so difficult.General ruleseach week I post the fixtures of the weekend league games from a well known betting forum to which I use the same one weeklythe odds are in decimals for easeeach player starts to season with 200 points (fake pounds)each week you predict the outcome of a match from the fixtures posted picking from either Home, Away or Draw outcomeeach player replies to the weekly thread with their selectionthe thread is closed upon 3pm kick-off on a Saturdayeach weekly selection is 10 points and a correct selection returns the odds amount based on the 10 points - basically the same as betting - for eg: you start with 200pts, pick ICT at 2.60 to win opening game, it's correct, your new points after week one would be 216pts - points minus your stake plus the returnI post the updated weekly running totals at the start of the week following the completion of the fixturesIf you join after the season has started and miss weeks, your starting points reflect this - eg, miss 2 weeks, you start on week 3 on 180pts and so onthere will be a thread to report points issues in case I make an error, which has been known to happen but not intentionallyCome and join us and feel the pain we all do, just ask @RobertThanks as always to @Gringo who ran this simple but frustrating game before I said I would keep it going

KDM Evolution Trophy 2026/27SPFL announces expanded KDM Evolution Trophy formatThe SPFL has today announced the format of the KDM Evolution Trophy for season 2026/27. Following the success of last season’s revamped competition – which included an inaugural league phase – season 2026/27 will now see more clubs compete in an expanded 40-club league phase.The following 10 guest clubs across the Scottish Highland Football League and the Scottish Lowland Football League East and West have accepted invitations into this season’s competition:Banks o’ Dee Berwick RangersBonnyrigg RoseClachnacuddinClydebankCowdenbeathCumbernauld ColtsFormartine UnitedFraserburghGala Fairydean RoversThey will join 10 William Hill League 1, 10 William Hill League 2 and 10 William Hill Premiership B-teams in the tournament’s opening round.Clubs participating in the league phase will be split into four pots by division, with each club playing two different opponents from each other pot, totalling six matches. William Hill Premiership B-teams will again play all league phase matches away from home.Points gained by clubs across six matchdays will feed into one league table, with the top 22 clubs qualifying for the knock-out Round of 32.William Hill Championship clubs will enter the competition in the Round of 32 as seeded clubs, alongside teams finishing in the top six of the league phase, with the remainder of the competition following a traditional knock-out format. Member clubs and the Scottish FA considered the new set-up hugely beneficial for youth players in providing more opportunities in the key ‘transition phase’ of ages 16-21, as players move from the academy environment to senior football. Youth prospects aged 15 will continue to be eligible to participate in the KDM Evolution Trophy, following a successful trial. The Scottish FA Cooperation System, which was designed to strengthen youth development in Scotland, has also been extended.Neil Doncaster, group chief executive of the SPFL, said: “We are delighted to build on the success of last season’s new-look competition by inviting 10 guest clubs to participate in next season’s tournament, which will be sure to benefit the community clubs we have invited and provide new challenges for our member clubs. “While we will continue to minimise travel with broadly regionalised league phase matches, following discussions with our members, home clubs will now retain gate receipts in full in the league phase, to support clubs financially.”Over £1.3 million in prize money was shared with clubs for last season’s KDM Evolution Trophy, which was an increase of more than 50% on the previous year. The SPFL is pleased to confirm that last season’s prize money has been maintained for the 2026/27 tournament, with the winners receiving £150,000, and the runners-up £100,000.The Scottish-based, internationally operating construction firm, KDM Group, remain proud title sponsors of the competition.Iain Jones, Chief Executive of KDM Group, said: “We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with the KDM Evolution Trophy after a highly successful first season of the new-look competition. Next season’s expanded format promises to deliver even more excitement and opportunities to clubs and players across the country, which reflects KDM Group’s support for Scottish football across all levels of the game.” The KDM Evolution Trophy league phase will commence on the midweek of August 11/12, where participants will look to better Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s run to the final last season. As a Prostate Cancer survivor, due to early detection, I really want to promote and post about the absolute importance of the Prostate Cancer initiative that ICT have got involved with.I lost an uncle (in Inverness) due to this condition because it was detected too late and my doctor (in Toronto) sent me for a test because of his death. I was 52 at the time and conventional thinking said it was "too early" for me to be affected by PC or even that other favourite as you get older, an enlarged prostate. Fast forward a few weeks and after a reading that was too high, and a biopsy that followed, I was going under the knife to remove the cancer that had been confirmed. Early detection meant a good prognosis and although I now need to have checks regularly - which are simple and easy blood tests - the alternative does not bear thinking about.The club sent out a press release today with an invite for the media to come along and publicise this event, and that reminded me I had not made any comment yet so here is my tuppence worth as this is a subject that is very close to home and of which I have personal experience. I would urge anyone who has any symptoms, or who has a family history to go get tested. For me, looking back, the only real symptom I missed was that I was having to pee more frequently, especially if I was drinking carbonated drinks like Coke or Irn Bru, or alcoholic drinks like beer! I put it down to getting older, no big deal. Take advantage of this kind of initiative or talk to your GP. Don't be embarrassed. A PSA test is a simple blood test, and it will not only put your mind at rest if the results come back as clear, but if there is anything detected, it will hopefully give you time to have it seen to before it is too late. PC is one of those slow burns, usually building over a number of years, and often unseen ... my doctor told me after my surgery that early detection was key as it is eminently treatable if caught in time. This is the kind of initiative that can prevent the preventable so please go get tested if you can.ICT Release follows: Whilst this is a media release and the spots are already filled, it is worth highlighting this so you can keep an eye out for any future opportunities.ICTFC would like to welcome members of the press and media to the first ever prostate cancer testing initiative of its kind in the Highlands. This pioneering new programme, delivered by the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative, will take place at the Sarens PSG Stadium on Wednesday 29th April, from 10.30am until 6.00pm.The Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative is supported by Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Tom Hunter, Professor Sir Chris Evans, and Kenny Logan. The Initiative provides free PSA tests to men aged between 40 and 80 and some samples are subject to additional diagnostic tests with the goal of gathering important data to help guide future screening and treatment protocols.A total of 600 men have signed up to take part in the testing Initiative in Inverness. The original 500 spaces were fully booked within just two days of going live, leading ICTFC and the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative to secure an additional 100 places due to the exceptional demand. The Initiative launched on 24 March 2026 and more than 8000 people have been tested so far across Scotland. Members of the press are invited to attend on the day, with opportunities to speak to representatives from the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative, as well as potentially hearing from some of the men taking part in the testing. CTO Player of the YearOscar MacIntyreOscar has had a great season with us since signing from Hibs and has been a favourite with the fans. He has scored 1 goal for the club in our 3-3 draw with Partick Thistle in the KDM Trophy (which we won on penalties) and picked up 5 yellow cards, in 37 appearances for the club. Starting the season well he was then rotated with Mitchell Robertson, but was picking up votes in most games he played throughout the season.
